It’s a fine trade, until Temple realizes that the lady—and her past—are more than they seem. It will take every bit of his strength to resist the pull of this mysterious, maddening woman who seems willing to risk everything for honor . . . and to keep from putting himself on the line for love.

This was my favorite MacLean. Now this is a book with a heroine with an arc. I love that Mara did something kind of awful. Because she was desperate, but it was still awful and she got to make amends get an HEA. She had a hero’s arc. Also, she was always a woman of action. I actually didn’t think she even need the passion projects used to soften …
Great series. This is Temple’s story. He was set up 12 years ago. This story picks up when they meet again.
Just perfect, with complex and interesting characters in an impossible situation.
Gratifying Tale Of Absolution – 3.5 stars
I loved the theme of this one. It had a great plot, although it got bogged down in a couple of spots (or maybe I just wasn’t interested in certain details), the chemistry between Temple and Mara never waned. This was a good story of love forged through forgiveness as well as absolution.
Another winning addition to a series by Sarah MacLean. Some ups and downs for the characters but always charming and satisfactorily romantic.
My least favorite from this author
No Good Duke Goes Unpunished by Sarah MacLean is the third book of her Rules Of Scoundrels series. Temple’s life was ruined when he awoke covered in blood and accused of murdering Mara Lowe on the eve of her wedding. For twelve years, he lived In exile as the Killer Duke, surviving by his fists. Then Mara Lowe showed up—alive and well. Sarah …
GREAT conversations between characters.
So far, this is my favorite book in this series (still have to read the final one). The story is really unique and very, very well done. Mara and Temple were so well suited for each other. There were some very emotional moments as well as enough light, witty moments to balance everything out. Great read!

Book 3 in Rules For Scoundrels series. I liked it better than book 2 but not as much as book 1. This is my third book by Sarah MacLean. Unfortunately, with this series at least, I feel like Ms. MacLean is following the same outline for each book. She did switch it up with this one and have the heroine be the one to pull away at the end …
I absolutely LOVE this whole series. Everyone is witty, fun, and lovely. I cannot speak highly enough about this cast of characters.
