Adorably naive and shockingly brilliant Harrison Lessardi only needs two things in life: his pet iguana, Steve, and his undying love of science. That is until he witnesses his best friend lay eggs, and a third must-have strolls into his apartment—the sardonic and mischievous Everard Drake.Everard Drake, celebrated doctor of the tremendously wealthy Drake family, has one goal in mind when he … when he arrives at the scene of his youngest brother’s latest disaster: incinerate Harrison Lessardi. Unfortunately for Everard, the moment he spots Harry, incineration becomes an impossibility—he must have the gorgeous beta as his own, even if it means holding him captive on his estate.
But something else lurks behind Everard’s interest in Harry—something that tugs at Everard’s soul in impossible ways, and that will send Everard and Harry down a rabbit hole of discovery that will change the world as they know it.
An alpha and a beta can’t share a bond.
Can they?
Bond is a 78,000 word steamy omegaverse mpreg-ish romance that will leave you in stitches. It contains an unexpectedly consensual kidnapping; giant magical lizards; an iguana with a full wardrobe named Steve; never-ending nicknames; and a HEA that may, or may not involve mosquito nets. For maximum enjoyment, Bond is best read following the events of Clutch.

Authors Piper Scott and Virginia Kelly continue the series by allowing the readers to discover why beta Harrison “Harry” Lessardi, Nate’s roommate, is discovered happy, safe, and well and in the company of the alpha Everard Drake. Harry had the thrill of witnessing his friend and roommate Nate birth a clutch of dragon eggs. With a doctorate in herpetology, Harry is over the moon with joy for an opportunity to observe the eggs. When Everard Drake shows up at the apartment to eliminate the witness to the existence of dragons, he finds a clever, enthusiastic researcher who is delighted to go along with him to learn more and share his own knowledge.
In addition to recognizing another keen mind, Everard feels a pull towards Harry that goes beyond the Ph.D.’s physical attractiveness. The two go back to Everard’s home, office, and laboratory to start a life together filled with research questions, theory testing, and intellectual conclusions. Harry’s interest in all things draconic leads to questions about reproductive function and inquiries concerning sexual behavior. An eventual romantic attachment between the two men begins as Harry discovers his own carnal interest when he was initially asexual.
Everything about this pairing just worked so incredibly well. The writers were especially clever in working with the juxtaposition between the two males: dragon versus human, alpha versus beta, incredible optimist versus outlandishly sardonic, adorably naive versus brilliantly sophisticated, etc. Then there is the common ground of both being intelligent men that share an interest in the nature of draconic mate bonding and the increase of dragon clutches. That Everard Drake falls so hard for Harry is the most charming, heart-warming thing about this entires series, in my humble opinion.
The writers continue to move the series forward with meaningful character development and astounding world-building both within the book and throughout the series arc. Readers are treated to more information concerning the dragons including draconic hierarchy, the organizational structure within the clans, as well as the Disgraces and the Pedigree. There’s a cohesion that exists between the books as the writers take care to craft a plausible universe for the series. In addition, the pacing and balance make for a page-turning reading experience. This is my favorite of the series.
Oh I’m absolutely hooked! what a great series! I love it that each book focuses on a different couple but there’s also an overall plot about dragon magic and mates. Wonderful book. I really really loved Harry he’s an amazing character and he made me laugh out loud so many times! He’s like sunshine. I had the best time listening this book and I can’t wait to continue with the series! And I thought that the narrator did a fantastic job bringing the story to life!

I really enjoyed this book. Harry is such a naive precious beautiful soul that anyone would be lucky to know. I loved the connection between Harry and Everard even if it took Ev awhile to accept out loud what his dragon had proclaimed that Harry was his mate which was a bit confusing considering Harry is a Beta and dragons only mate with Omegas as Beta’s can’t produce clutches. Due to Ev’s dragon magic Harry was somehow turned into an Omega-Beta and he was with a clutch of a single egg. I loved how proud Harry was about wee Darwin and proclaimed multiple times how advanced he is but then again there’s no surprise considering who his fathers are. It was cute that when Ev gave Harry his gift of a gold body chain so he can be adorned in some gold, that he also included thin golden chain to adorn Steve as well, as his dragon had claimed them both. The Whelps are still absolutely adorable and I totally love Steve, especially all the little outfits that he has, the shark costume when Harry, Ev and Steve went to visit Ev’s father Grimbold to give him the proof about their research into Disgraces actually being dragons that aren’t just aren’t alphas and can’t shift but therefore are actually mates to the dragons that have been shunning them for years had to be my favourite outfit that Steve has warn and he had it on all because apparently that’s the outfit that he wanted to wear according to Harry. I’m looking forward to reading Geoffrey’s book next so I can find out why he’s looking so rundown and why he’s extra grumpy. I’d definitely recommend this book, story and authors to everyone.
4.5 stars.
Thought Clutch was magnificent. Bond blew me away!! Though Clutch lacked the truly strong, intimate bits and pieces, Bond made up for it in spades!
Remember Everard the draconian doctor? With the most wicked, driest sense of humor? The one who “kidnaps” Nate’s bestie by the name of Harry the Herpetologist? Turns out a lot was going on during the same time zone as with Nate and Alistair in Clutch that we now find out about in Bond. That Harry becomes impregnated with one dragon egg and…
What? What do you mean that’s impossible since Harry is a beta? Remember the fishies that start out as one sex then turns into another? Well… it’s something like that, but you need to read the book for all the delicious details. And it’s medically/biologically sound if you believe in a little empathic draconian magic to kickstart the whole reaction. We will also find out more about the disgraces and what they represent. (I figured this one out already with Book 1, but my brain just thinks that way.)
I liked this book better than Book 1 because more answers were discovered with less questions created, and I appreciate the moments of intimacy that were great and strong. Maybe too happy because we all know that life isn’t always that way.
My complaints is too much sex. It started out not that bad, even truncated where appropriate, then came the avalanche. I appreciate a good sex scene as anyone else, but in the realm of writing, you just can’t document every single moment anyone has sex because it makes the act so gratuitous and over-the-top in quantity that I ended up skimming through, reading the bits that sounded interesting, and forwarding where the story restarts. Hence my 4.5 star review count. Better balance in the sex department would have made it a solid five stars.
Now to read Mate as in Book 3! Whoopee!!
This one I loved even more than Clutch! Possibly because it nailed the “Gumpy one is soft for the sunshine one” dynamic so very well. Harry was an adorable tenacious nerd who stole my heart. and Everard? OOooh, boy Everard *fans self* A perfect combo of arrogance, snark, and sexiness. I am loving the series!
Bond is the second book in the Forbidden Desires series, a paranormal romance series with dragon shifters within an A/B/O universe. This book technically could be read by itself, but I fully recommend reading the first book in the series in order to fully enjoy this book.
Everard and Harry are an adorable couple. Harry is delightfully himself—just full of enthusiasm and joy about his new research. The relationship starts off dangerously—Everard had kidnapped Harry (with Harry’s permission) in order to eliminate him. However, what was supposed to be a murder turned into a love story. On the surface it sounds a little twisted, but the way the authors developed this story made it more comedic and entertaining. The relationship between Everard and Harry is strong and full of love. The entire book was a delight to read and I really enjoyed it.
I loved the audiobook narration just as much as I loved the first book in the series. The audiobook production was well done and overall it was a fantastic listening experience.
4.5 stars
I have now become immersed in this quirky dragon world. I loved Ev and Harry! Everard is serious, but also witty, protective, and truly devoted to Harry. His many pet names for Harry are fun. And Harry is naive and unsure, but is also highly intelligent and able to put things together that others can’t. I thought these two made a great match with their intellect, interests, and the love they had to give. Some of the dragon society rules are harsh and confusing. But I liked how the storyline in this one progressd and how we keep learning more about the dragon world and some of its mysteries. Initially, I was not sure I was going to continue the series, but now I am already interested in Geoffrey so just have to keep going.
Don’t pass this up
One of my absolute favorite series –
Everything I enjoy when it comes to reading
I laughed so darn hard – Loud, scare everyone in the room full belly laughs
I loved the cast – Scott’s characters are so real –
Yes I know they are dragons, I also know it’s mpreg –
I was there –
I experienced every single moment and it felt real!
The tender exchanges of emotions, the one-track mind of our little beta, the food obsession of our overly arrogant Alpha – what was with that anyway
Heck even the silent vigilance of brother iguana
This is one of those books that you will read over and over again
It’s just that good
5 stars
Heat Level: 3.5
Narration: 5
OMG! I just loved this book so much!! Cluelessness, humor, food-related pet names and dragon style intrigue, all made for a fantastic story!!
I just love Harry and Ev so much!! Both characters are so unique and fantastic on their own but their character interplay was some of the best things created and the narration by Michael Ferraiuolo was incredible!!!! I love the cluelessness, inquisitiveness and unique smarts that makeup Harry is just the best. I love his internal dialogue which he usually speaks out loud and his fascination and love of all things dragons is both a joy and hilarity. He’s clueless, yet so smart. He’s overzealous, yet adorable. He is just plain loveable!!!
Now Ev, on the other hand, is the picture of a distinguished dragon and his interactions with Harry along with the never-ending list of hilarious food-related nicknames make for a fantastic mix of humor, sass, and sarcasm! I found their connection perfectly matched and really enjoyed their journey. I loved that we got more insight into this world and the intriguing world of dragons. I really look forward to more in this series and look forward to seeing what happens next to these dragons and their mates!!
Another fantastic story and now one of my all-time favs!!!!

Bond is the second book in the Forbidden Desires seriesby Piper Scott and Virginia Kelly.
In this installment to the amazing series, we get to see beta Harrison Lessardi and Alpha Dragon Everard Drake. Harry is an impossibly charming mix of brilliance and naivety. And Everard is the sexy and carnally hungry man that has set his lusty sights on the Beta… but can an Alpha and Beta have a mated bond or will Harry get incinerated once the fiery passion dies out.
The story is filled with hilarious dialog, steamy moments, cutesy nicknames, unexpected clutches, happy surprises and sexy dragons. I can’t wait to see what the next book will being us.
An alpha not looking for a mate and a beta who never thought he’d have one
Perfect addition to the first book! I’m loving this series. I think I even liked this book more than the first, and I loved that one too. It’s got dragons, a socially awkward geek, fated mates, magic, steam, love and even some humor. What’s not to love. I’m desperately looking forward to the next book in the series!
