Do you believe in love at first sight? Read this story and you will. Amy is sent to a resort island to interview the chef even though there is a hurricane brewing. He is not known for giving interviews so her bosses don’t really care about her safety. Just the interview. But when she gets there she finds that the chef has left the island on a personal matter. She runs into the gorgeous Rye. He is supposed to be on his honeymoon but his fiancee did the dirty on him so he went alone. The hot and spicy between these two is wonderful. Instant attraction. Instant bed. A twin. A sick daughter. Secrets. Oh, this was a wonderful story and I loved it.

Sweet. Tender. Endearing. Sometimes a little embarrassment is needed to see things a little clearer. Rye could feel something was not right with his upcoming wedding. He just did not want to take the steps needed to end it. It too the observation of his brother and soon-to-be sister-in-law to up the game and make things real in a very public way.
Now with all that behind him he moves on with his day from hell and takes a much needed break from it all. He was not expecting that a laugh could change the rest of his world.
Amy was sent to do a job. A job that was derailed by a storm and the person she was sent for not being where he was supposed to be. Add on top of all that, the loss of her luggage and a sexy glimpse from her past or her future. That all depended on how she wanted to look at things. I had fun seeing what Amy and Rye got up to in the islands. The story was flowing and added another layer to the adoption of a previous character.
I enjoyed Lisa Beacom voice. I loved her pitches, tone change, inflection and just all around. I found home with her voice and this story.
I was quickly drawn in and captivated by Rye, Amy and Cammie’s story. Theirs is a heartwarming journey. The trio make it easy to love and care about them. I laughed, cried and cheered for them, especially little Cammie. Cammie is such a sweet little ray of sunshine.
If you like stories that are fun, uplifting and have a lot of emotion you might want to give theirs a try.
Amazing Series! Outstanding Story & Listen
Orchids & Hurricane Kisses Heart of the Family, Book 3
By: Stacy Eaton
Narrated by: Lisa Beacom
I am loving this series, it is beautiful written and plotted with original and interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. The characters are well developed, they are realistic and easy to relate to. Be sure to read and/or listen to the first two books in the series, each book is not only enjoyable and entertaining but they will help you get more out of this story. Characters from those books make appearances in this book and play a part in the storyline Stacey Eaton cleverly connected and built on. This book is Rye Waterman’s, narrowly making the mistake of his life, after an epic ending to his relationship with his cheating ex he decided to take advantage of an already booked trip to a tropical island. While checking in he has a bizarre encounter with a bubbly woman, Amy Black who thinks Rye is named after bread, she leaves laughing hysterically. Amy is visiting the island while on a work assignment, the resort lost her luggage and while they upgraded her room she needs her bags, it contained all her clothes as well as her passport. She went to to check with the desk about it when Rye was picking up his key. Turns out they were staying next to each other, they really hit it off, the chemistry between them is off the charts and they made a pact to enjoy their time there and together. Rye wanted it to be more than just an island fling but Amy’s life is complicated back home and doesn’t think it would work out. With a storm heading towards the Island they re asking everyone to leave, when Amy gets an emergency call from back home she needs to get back there ASAP, luckily they found her luggage and passport in time. When Rye went looking for Amy she was no where to be found, they were evacuating tourists but he would not leave until he knows she did. Finding out that she did he headed home but vowed to find her. I just loved how their story plays out from the laughs, the drama, the twists and turns, to the wonderful romance. Rye has found his one! Stacy Eaton, thank you for another awesome story, the amazing twists of fate and the emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Lisa Beacom is a wonderful narrator and voice artist. She does a great job bringing the characters to life, giving each their own distinct voice and personality, which makes it easy to follow along. Performing the voices of all the characters, she switches roles flawlessly and with ease. She sets the perfect tone for the story, captures the drama of the story, as well as the characters emotions which is projected into her performance. She landed the humor perfectly too. She is a natural talent and an entertaining storyteller. Thank you for another awesome listen, i tis a pleasure to listen to your work.
I have come to really love listening to this series and was looking forward to this audiobook.
The story belongs to Rye Waterman , the twin of Roan, whom we met in book three. It’s also a story that will make you wonder how about the validity of fate and how it sometimes has a hand a someone’s life, and that six degrees of separation might truly be a concept.
When Rye leaves his bride at the altar after her deceit, he decides to take the honeymoon trip by himself. Wanting a quiet, uneventful trip, he never expected to meet the woman that would be changing his life.
Amy Black is on the island to interview a well known chef. But upon arriving at the island, discovers the chef is away due to a family emergency, and to make matters worse, her luggage is no where to be found. She also has personal problems back home, but is determined to make the best of the situation. Not realizing that while the interview might not happen, she unexpectedly meets a man that makes her laugh and touches her heart.
A hurricane separates them as does an emergency. Will they meet again or will that trip be just a memory to hold close to their hearts?
Another well written story that will touch your hearts.
Looking forward to the next audiobook in the series.
Neither Amy or Rye really want to be on the island expecting a hurricane, but they are ready to make the most of their situations. I love how they connected and spent time getting to know one another. Amy can’t seem to let her guard all the way down and risk being rejected by another man.
When we were introduced to Rye in bk 2, his twin brother’s story, I wasn’t feeling the warm and fuzzies towards him…until we learned that his witchy fiancée had cheated on him. Rye’s story starts up where bk 2 left off…with him leaving his cheating fiancée at the altar. He decides to spend some time alone on what should have been his honeymoon. Rye doesn’t expect to meet an interesting magazine writer and have a fling, but he does and is smitten. Then she disappears as a hurricane approaches the tropical island. Amy Black was only supposed to be on the island for a few days to interview a famous Chef, except he wasn’t on the island. What she did find was an intriguing man and a vacation fling. The more she gets to know Rye, the more she falls for him. But she has a huge secret, one that she isn’t willing to share. Without giving away spoilers, I’ll just say that Amy’s secret leads to lots of answers for Rye and his family. Great HEA! Another enjoyable story in the series and always great to catch up with characters from prior books.
I accepted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Orchids & Hurricane Kisses
Heart of the Family, Book 3
By: Stacy Eaton
Narrated by: Lisa Beacom
I am totally in love with this series! Stacy Eaton keeps the fun coming with book three in her Heart of the Family series. It’s about Rye who we met previously, breaking off his wedding due to his cheating fiance and is now on his honeymoon. He meets Amy who is away on business and the two connect right away. When things get heated though, Amy is adamant that she only wants it to last while on vacation. Is Rye willing to agree? The chemistry between these two is so strong, we can only keep rooting for this couple! I love Rye, and am so happy for him! Amy is perfect for him, but I can understand her reluctance to be in a relationship. And the heartbreaking circumstances that lead to their happiness is such irony. Add in a visit from Roan and Finley and the twist with the two of them and this book is just a pleasure! I really enjoyed it.
Narration continues by Lisa Beacom and she is knocking it out of the park. She connects to these characters and breathes life into the story. I am thoroughly entertained with her storytelling and look forward to hearing more from her.

This is the third book in the series and my favorite so far. We got to know Rye in his brother’s book. Where things left off for Rye in that book had me eagerly anticipating this one. I loved Amy and Rye together. Things move fast for them, but you can’t deny their true feelings. As a reader I could feel the connection. Too bad for Rye that Amy just wants a fling and once they leave the island no more contact. My heart hurts for Amy what she’s experiencing with her daughter. A few delightful twists in this one. This book had so much feels. It’s a make you feel good story. Though there a few sad moments that lead to hope. It’s definitely a must read. Yet again I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series because there is a missing piece for this family that needs to be found.
