Excerpt
They say to commit murder is a crime against your soul as much as it is another person’s body—an everlasting burden. I say it was a relief—like lancing open my own throat just to breathe for the very first time. But one corpse led to another, and soon I left my own life to step into someone else’s. I never meant for things to go so far. I never meant to leave a trail of bodies in my wake. I never meant to keep a secret so dark that it held the key to another hell entirely.
I never meant to say I’m sorry.

This was another awesome book by Addison. She just puts out amazing books. I have not read one that I did not love yet. I can not wait to read any book that she puts out. This one was no exception to the rule.
There were lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing from start to finish on this one. Read it you will love it as much as I did.

Charlie and Theo’s lives are intertwined before they even meet. Theo’s occupation as a police officer alone gives Charlie reason to steer clear of the romantic setup her roommate Gabby is pushing for. Charlie’s past and the need to protect her younger siblings adds fuel to the fire that will end in an inferno. A storyline that draws you in and keeps you turning the pages. Addison Moore has delivered another great read with genuine characters and an engaging storyline. Looking forward to reading the next book to see what unfolds!

I have not seen many authors who can cross over into many genres and do so sublimely well, without causality (ahhh, see what I did there lol). On a serious note, I have followed Addison’s books since her series of Celestra, and while I was hooked on it, I was so excited when she ventured into mystery because it is my favorite genre. Addison knows how to keep you guessing, which in turn keeps you engrossed in her books. This book was no different, I could not put it down!
Fantastic read, well written with a great plot and characters. I was engrossed from start to finish. This book is so good, you get sucked in and realize your up way past the time you intended! This book has mystery, suspense, murder and twists and turns. Charlie is running from her past under a different identity trying to get back to her younger siblings. She meets Gabby and is given a place to stay and is introduced to Theo. Theo is a cop and is trying to figure out what happened to his sister Lizzy. Will Charlie be able to keep her past hidden? Will it matter if the truth comes out? A definite page turner and must read! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Booksprout.
Addison Moore never fails to deliver! This book had me hooked from the beginning. Charlie is a complete mystery to everyone around her. She has less than desirable past and for whatever reason has found herself homeless and alone in a town with a few mysteries of its own. She is befriended by a girl named Gabby who gives her a place to live and also tries to set her up with a friend. Theo’s sister Lizzy disappeared over a year ago and Charlie is just the light he needs in his life to get him through the dark place he’s been in. The only problem is Theo is a cop….will he find out about her past? Will it matter? Could it really be that bad? You will be asking yourself these questions until the very end and it’s totally worth it!
This book has so much in it–murder, mystery, romance, suspense, and an ending with a twist! Addison Moore draws you in from the start and you feel like you are right there in the book with the characters. Her descriptions of people, places, and things happening in the book are so vivid. She has you and on the edge of your seat and wanting more!
This was quite a different story line than what I’ve come to expect from the amazing Addison Moore. Not saying that’s a bad thing, in fact, it’s the exact opposite. This story is fantastic. This is one of those stories that will make you forego sleep, food and all other distractions simply because you don’t want to waste a second. The characters, Theo and Charlie, are so very different but also the perfect match for one another. Charlie has a lot of secrets that she is hiding, especially from Theo. Of course, it’s difficult to keep things hidden when the person you are spending most of your time with is a cop. I wasn’t sure how this story was going to turn out, with all the twists, turns and surprises, but it was amazing. I look forward to reading more by this author and I hope she decides to write another book like this some day.
This was a fantastic read! I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened in the end! Gem is on the run for murder. When her friend Gabby sets her up with her boyfriend’s cousin Theo she knows there’s trouble ahead. Theo is a cop whose been searching for his sister who disappeared a year ago. Gem decides to help in his efforts but it won’t be long before Theo finds out the truth about her. A gripping story guaranteed to shock you!
***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review***
I have read many books by the talented Addison Moore and none of them have been quite like this one. This was pleasantly different and I wasn’t quite sure what to think.
Theo and Charlie are from two different worlds but when they collide, they seem to be linked more than you would even think. I was worried for Charlie on more than occasion. I couldn’t even imagine how this was going to play out since Charlie lied to Theo about so much! Including the fact that she stole his sister Lizzys ID!
This was such a great book and I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would.
I highly recommend that you don’t start this book right before bed. You will question if sleep is overrated. Charlie is a girl on the run, just trying to survive, and protect her younger siblings. Will life ever be semi normal again when your hiding a secret and your living under somebody elses identity? You follow Charlie and the handsome cop Theo as they try to figure out what happened to his sister Lizzy. There are so many twists and turns that you don’t quite put the puzzle together till almost the end. Nothing is a Bigger buzz kill than figuring it out before your half way done. If you like books by Gillian Flynn or Iris Johansen this will not disappoint you. The best part of Addison’s writing is we don’t know what the pages will hold but I do know they never disappoint!
