‘Absolutely brilliant… I devoured it in a few hours because it was impossible to put down… Be prepared for a rollercoaster of emotions… Packed full of laughs… Had me laughing all the way through… Perfect.’ Goodreads ReviewerIs this all there is? I scraped the last dregs of Caramel Chew Chew ice cream out of the bottom of the tub with my finger and licked it. It left a sticky smear on my phone’s … a sticky smear on my phone’s screen when I typed into Google, “How to find love, sex and happiness.”
Charlotte has always been a good girl. But being good is getting boring…
She’s not just stuck in a rut – she’s buried in it up to her chin. The only company she has in bed is the back catalogue of Netflix and falling in love feels like the stuff of fairy tales. So when she stumbles across a popular podcast, ‘Sorry Not Sorry’, which challenges women to embrace their inner bad girl, she jumps at the chance to shake things up.
Old Charlotte would never ask for a stranger’s number, go on a blind date or buy lacy lingerie… But New Charlotte is waving goodbye to her comfort zone (with a side order of margaritas). And it turns out that good things happen to bad girls…
A fabulously feel-good novel that will make you laugh till you cry and leave you living life to the full, margarita in hand! If you’re a fan of romantic comedies by Sophie Kinsella, Lindsey Kelk or Matt Dunn, and love TV shows like Girls, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Jane the Virgin, you won’t be able to put down this hilarious read.
Readers are absolutely loving Sorry Not Sorry:

‘I am sitting on a bus leaving New York and I couldn’t even wait to get in front of my laptop to write a review… This book was THAT. GOOD… I took this book slowly because it was one of those novels you know you’ll be sorry to see end. Hell, I even slacked on some finals to read instead of working on my dissertation. I’m not sorry that’s for sure ;)… That last minute twist???? I was screaming.’ Goodreads Reviewer, 5 stars

Sophie Ranald has such an easy writing style, it’s easy to get lost in her stories. Her friendly, conversational tone meant I instantly warmed to Charlotte, who could be women I know – perhaps even me back in my single life. I enjoyed her journey of self-discovery and finding love along the way. I’ll definitely be reading more by this author.
The first book I’ve read by this author. I enjoyed it. It seemed like typical chick-lit but I found it funnier than most I’ve read in that genre in the past. Some of the British/UK terms I found confusing but they were easy enough to figure out the meaning of from context clues. I look forward to checking out other books by Ms. Ranald in the future.
Cute, light, and playful!
Sorry Not Sorry is a spirited, witty rom-com about the focused, hardworking Charlotte who after working long hours and focusing solely on her career decides with the help of a podcast to step out of her comfort zone and take some risks when it comes to dating and finding love.
The writing style is funny and sharp. The characters are quirky, amusing, and endearing. And the plot is a humourous blend of life, love, introspection, friendship, embarrassing moments, awkward situations, misunderstandings, workplace drama, taking chances, and the ups-and-downs of finding Mr. Right.
Overall, Sorry not Sorry is an easy, engaging, entertaining read by Ranald that’s bursting with female friendships, self-discovery, and a sliver of romance.
Charlotte has always been a good girl. When Charlotte’s best friends and room mates moves out because they fell in love and are getting married, Charlotte is left all alone. There has to be more to life then sitting home alone and watching tv right? Charlotte starts listening to a podcast Sorry Not Sorry and it says women should embrace their inner bad girl, so Charlotte does! This was a very funny book with great characters! I enjoy all the fun and crazy things Charlotte got into and felt like I was right there with her!
I liked it enough to buy the second in the series. It has enough mystery to keep it interesting. If you like Bridgett Jones diary, you’ll love this book.
All of this author’s books are well thought out stories. Love the characters and HEA ending.
Sorry Not Sorry is funny, empowering, and has all the feels. From the beginning, we are introduced to Charlotte who is feeling lost and unfulfilled after her friends move out of their shared flat. She ends up finding a podcast that inspires her to take steps to discover herself and find love, or at the very least sex. Most people find themselves desiring to be better versions of themselves, and I am certainly no exception. Charlotte’s journey, her successes and failures, all resonated with me on a personal level. Despite the description of the book, I found it to be about more than just romantic relationships.
I really had my pompoms out during this read. I was cheering Charlotte on, cheering for Tansy, wondering just what in the world Adam’s deal was, and wanted to slap Bianca and even Maddy a few times. Framing the chapters after episodes of the podcast was very clever. It gave us just a little bit of foreshadowing but not enough to make me upset.
As much as I enjoyed this book, I do have one issue that kept it from being five stars. I wish that the ultimate relationship for Charlotte had been played out more. It felt so sudden at the end of the book that I was left thinking really? That’s it? Just a handful of sightings and now suddenly we have this soulmate experience? I’m happy with the outcome but I wish the readers had more of a foundation to reflect on.
Even with that complaint, I adored this book. It made me laugh, crave margaritas, and wish that I had scheduled it as a buddy read so I could complain about Bianca and others. I definitely will recommend this to others!
Sophie Ranald is a new author to me and I’m really not sure why I haven’t come across her before now because Sorry Not Sorry made me laugh, made me cry and left me with some great feels.
Charlotte has come to a crossroads in her life all her friends seem to have settled down but she is still stuck in the same ruck she has been in most of her life but will her life be about to change as she looks into podcasts that are meant to empower woman….
This story certainly gave me a few giggles as I watched Charlotte find herself, it was entertaining, it was easy to read and it had characters I loved. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
Shake things up!
Charlotte’s best friend is moving out, and now the house feels empty. And so does her life. She’s in a rut. So, when she finds this series of podcasts named ‘Sorry Not Sorry’, she is determined to get more out of life. What I really liked about Charlotte is that she could be any one of us. She wasn’t this super-thin super-unreal super-woman, but just a relatable person with recognizable problems.
It was never TOO bad, which was how I liked it. Just a broadening of her horizon. Spreading her wings. Pushing her boundaries. Flirting. Not saying no to everything. Small steps. And that started out with innocent things like calling a guy after asking his phone number. Later on, it gets a bit less innocent…
It says laugh-out-loud and yes, it was filled with humour, but no, I never laughed out loud. But I really enjoyed it. It was entertaining, easy-to-read, with a good flow, and I loved it! And it was surprising! Romantic comedies can be predictable, but this one definitely wasn’t!
Heat level 4 quite steamy
BTW I loved the little references to Gemma from ‘The Truth About Gemma Grey’.
