A heartwarming, magical, Christmas romance. Max style.Sometimes you need to listen to your heart. Other times you need to listen to Max.It’s Christmas Eve and Jack is visited by three ghosts. Sort of. First, there’s Tilley the kitten, who takes Jack back to Christmas Past. Then there’s Max, who shows Jack the joy of Christmas Present and reminds him that people should love the way dogs do, … reminds him that people should love the way dogs do, forever and without conditions. Buttercup is last, and shows Jack what is Yet To Come if he doesn’t move forward and let go of old hurts. The threesome help to remind Jack that love is much more than broken promises and heartache.
“Sometimes love is like a huge tornado that keeps changing directions. You move one way and it either moves with you or it moves on without you. You never know which way to turn because the heart is unpredictable. So you run and run and run and you wind up running headfirst into a blinding chasm that lifts you up or throws you crashing downward. If you’re not lifted, your heart shatters and bleeds. If you are, however, you will live in wonderment for the rest of your days, reliving a joy that you welcome, loving a soul that isn’t yours, and yet is.” Buttercup looked at Jack with somber resignation. “You’re going to have to decide what you want, and what you’re willing to do to get it.
See how Jack learns exactly what love is, what could be, and just what he’ll lose if he doesn’t make the right decision in time.

What a fun way to let Jack know that no one waits forever! If he wants the future of his dreams he had best take action.
A delightful action filled, and talking pet filled, adventure with strong similarities of the ghosts of Dickens`s imagination.
I think you`ll appreciate it if you understand the nature of Sophie`s large and intrusive family.
The animals do steal this show.
I accepted a copy of this book via Booksprout. I have read most of the books in this series. This is my own opinion.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. A cute Christmas tale a take on Scrooge. Tilley, Max, and Buttercup as they visit Jack make this story one I could not put down.
So Funny! Great Visuals!
This novella is so funny! It has such great visuals that it is like reading a comic book in your mind. This is the best Christmas story that I have read this year! Definitely one of the best, ever. To get the full employment, one should be a little familiar with the series. I received this book for free and this is my honest review.
What a *sigh* worthy, heart tugging book! Katie, you have outdone yourself.
Jack gets his own rendition of the Scrooge classic A Christmas Carol with kitten Tilley , German Shepherd Max and Golden Retriever Buttercup taking on the roles of Christmas Past, Present and Future. **Spoiler Alert** The scene with Buttercup in the Pet Cemetery really got to me!! There were a few giggle worthy moments but this book was more a time for commitment phobic Jack to take a look at how his life had and would continue to play out if he didn’t make some drastic changes.
Will Jack convince Sophie that he has changed? Or will his cold feet come back once he has time to think things over? I guess we will just have to wait to find out.
Soon Katie, soon please?!

A Shepherd’s Christmas Carol #5 – This is my first read by this author and I found the story cute and interesting. Quickly read, but well written in a jolly, casual style, the story entertains the reader until the last page.
As much as I enjoyed the animal characters, all fun and wonderful, I liked the humans just as much, too. The story is full of humor, from giggles to belly laughs and a touch of serious. A good way to relax with a cuppa and a furbaby. Twenty percent of the book is listings of the author’s books and their excerpts. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through Booksprout. 4*
I’ll Marry You in Dog Years, Prequel – I should have read this first but I didn’t know I had it in my library. I love the witty banter between Sophie and Jack; my favorite ethnic mix since I’m both. They meet, have problems from that moment on, and their first date is, of course, at her family’s restaurant.
All the family members are a hoot but Nonna wins the cake. Jack is so cool. Everyone is funny, likable and interesting in their own ways. The dialog keeps the belly laughs continuous. No pretensions, no stupid formula or behaviors, just an enjoyable cute – meet with all the family included.
I wanna slap myself silly for not getting Sit, Stay, Drop the Diaper when I found it on Booksprout and it took me awhile to decide not to do so. I must read the rest of the series now. Thirteen percent of the book is listings of the author’s books and their excerpt. 5*
Not what I expected. A Christmas Carol with dogs. Fun but a little confusing because I hadnt read any of the previous books

This was a great story I am excited and enjoyed reading this book there enough twist and turns to keep it happy.
A Christmas Carol-esque series of visions for Jack about what might happen to him if he doesn’t finally propose to Sophia.
The crux? Sophia with adorable children, who are not theirs, but hers with another man, because she wanted a family and would not wait longer than 6 years for him.
Adorable puppy and kitty scenes. Heart breaking human stuff.
As I have so often said about Jack, grow the heck up, you stupid Gael!
Hopefully, the critters really got through to him, and he sticks to his love, not his past broken heart with someone else!

A Christmas Carol as performed by the pets in this zany series. I’m at a complete loss for words. Max and company kept me howling with laughter, until the point they left me choking back great gulping sobs. (Anyone who’s been a pet parent will recognize the scene when they get to it, so I know I won’t be alone in my ugly-crying.) The ending leaves me wanting to rend things – it’s more than a bit of a cliff-hanger – but it does mean that I’m fully invested in seeing where the series goes next.
