A guy walks into a bar car and… From here the story could take many turns. When this guy is David Sedaris, the possibilities are endless, but the result is always the same: he will both delight you with twists of humor and intelligence and leave you deeply moved. Sedaris remembers his father’s dinnertime attire (shirtsleeves and underpants), his first colonoscopy (remarkably pleasant), and the … pleasant), and the time he considered buying the skeleton of a murdered Pygmy.
With Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls, David Sedaris shows once again why his work has been called “hilarious, elegant, and surprisingly moving” (Washington Post).

And laugh out loud!
The title had nothing to do with the book, and that left me confused through the first few chapters. Yes, some very humorous moments—but not enough for as long as the book was. It was a good way to pass the work day.
Love David Sedaris, always witty and entertaining.
I love David’s humour and writing. I found this collection of personal anecdotes fantastic to pick up and read as and when I needed a proper chuckle. If you love dark comedy and you haven’t yet discovered David Sedaris, this is a great place to start.

I’ve never read any thing written by David Sedaris so this is my first time. When I first started reading it I found a lot of short stories offensive as I didn’t realize those were satires. But after re-reading some of the chapters, I’ve started to understand Sedaris’ way of writing and humor, and I have to say it’s actually pretty interesting! …
