It’s been nine years since she’s been face-to-face with him and that wasn’t long … long enough. She can’t blame her best friend for bidding on him for her at the bachelor auction. She doesn’t know their history, but the date isn’t going to happen unless it’s a game of one on one basketball. Even then, neither one of us ever plays fair.

Hold the phone!! I was definitely not expecting Luca’s story to be my favorite of the series!! For the first two books, Luca is portrayed as the baby of the family, the youngest and most immature of the three brothers. But OMG MY GOSH!! This book is so much more!! To start with, I’m a HUGE sucker for second chance romances and fake relationships, so I was pretty much hooked from the end of Cris’ book.
Luca and Lauren have chemistry in spades, a simmering passion for each other that’s remained untapped for years and a fierce competition that’s keeps everything lighthearted and entertaining. Lauren’s quirkiness is a perfect match for Luca’s jovial spirit. Together they are too darn cute and so much fun!! Exploring Luca’s true character was such a delight. He’s nothing like I thought he’d be; so charming, a little scared, but a giver with a great big heart. I just love him to death
Piper Rayne knocked it out of the park with this series. And yes, it’s a series, best to read in order or you’ll be confused. I loved each of the brothers and their ladies (but I’ll always have my favorites )! Engaged to the EMT is one of my top reads for December 2018, definitely in my top 10 for the ENTIRE year!! I can’t wait to see what Piper Rayne have in store for readers on 2019.
OMG….how are we already at the end of the Blue Collar Brothers series? I am in love with all of the Bianco brothers! First Mauro, then Cristian, and now Luca. There is so much love in this family! For all the brothers to be first responders, it has me hero worshiping here. I knew Lucas’ story would be the big one. I mean come on! Lauren is a firecracker and these two have been bickering at each other through out this series. I love the flirty and playboy Lucas. I love the fiery and competitive Lauren. When these two get together, there are serious sparks going off.
There were a few scenes that get serious and a little emotional. But Lucas will keep you on your toes. My only hope was that Lauren and Lucas would become a couple. That they can finally have a HEA. But only time and truth will tell! I am excited to read about the Bianco’s NY cousins series coming out some time next year. I have my eye on Dom! Another home run for Piper Rayne!!
Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..We finally have Luca’s book, I know we were all waiting for his and Lauren’s book because we knew these two had some feelings for each other. They started off in typical Luca and Lauren fashion getting their jabs in. Lauren knew Luca was up to something when he was being nice to her but when he asks her for a fake engagement she can’t help but agree because the reason behind his craziness was a sweet one. I liked that they got to admit their feelings and him admitting he had feelings from long ago, huh I swooned at his confession. I am happy with the ending but sad that this was the last of the Bianco brothers but meeting cousins am hoping for more on them. Enjoy!
Luca is the youngest Bianco brother and, according to rumor, a manwhore not ready to settle any time soon. When he shows up at his parents’ house for Sunday dinner, dragging Lauren and claiming they’re engaged everyone is reluctant to believe it’s the real deal.
Lauren has known Luca since HS and has always been very vocal about how much she dislikes him, but now that her best friends are both dating the older Bianco brothers, the family, including Luca, is slowly becoming a fixture in her circle.
Of course, Luca and Lauren’s story had to be special. Enemies to lovers with a sweet twist, Luca is not at all the man he seems and Lauren has a very hard time resisting his charms. They’ve spent a long time meeting “at the corner of love and hate” until they take a much needed detour.
As usual, the authors don’t disappoint and deliver a great story with very relatable and lovable characters. Baby Bianco turns out to be a beautiful wreck who’s more than ready for the one person he’s always wanted to keep him together.
What a conclusion to the Blue Collar Brothers series.
We have seen the sparring between Lauren and Luca in the previous books in the series and now we get them on the main stage.
Circumstances have thrown Lauren and Luca to come up with a plan to a fake engagement.
The chemistry between these two is fantastic!
Lauren is a take no prisoners lady. You see her family life and how she struggled to become who she is today and it’s amazing!
Luca is the youngest Bianco brother, he is the loose cannon, the playboy. But is he really? He has met his match in Lauren
Soon their acting skills become so good that they feel real emotions for each other. But does it come to late?
You see past characters and a new one! You get the famous Piper Rayne humor and smexiness! You get everything you love in a Piper Rayne story!
Well done ladies!! Cannot wait for your next series, I know they are going to be amazing!
Love/Hate relationship! Sexy paramedic! Feisty Physical therapist! What is not to love about this book. Piper Rayne really knows how to write and keep you on your toes with her books. Luca and Lauren both will not admit their attraction to each other but can not help falling into situations and moments that show that they are perfect for each other.
Loved it!
Closing the story of the Bianco Brothers, we finally have Luca’s book, and if he is the last one to have his story told, it does not mean that he is the least important. Quite the contrary, I can say that in this book, I saw a side of him hitherto hidden, and so he became my favorite. After the surprising ending of the previous book, I was curious to know how Luca and Lauren ended up in that situation, and more importantly, how they would find a way out. I am happy to say that my expectations were met, the book went far beyond what I expected, finalizing in a good way a well written series.
Luca in the other books was presented as a playboy, a player, almost irresponsible. But appearances deceive, and the younger brother is a complete mystery and different from what everyone imagines. As the narrative progresses, we see a side of Luca hitherto unknown, and we learn that the way others see him, is the way he decides to show himself to the outside world. No one really knows the real man, except for his mother.
And it is out of love for his mother that he decides to come up with a plan so that she does not worry about him. This plan involves Lauren, his “arch enemy”. But as already said above, this tumultuous relationship is yet another example that not everything is what it seems. And with the frame of a false engagement, what was staging can become true?
Luca and Lauren really are the perfect match. The two are a force of nature, highly competitive, with strong opinions, and so are not seen as such sociable people. The two are so stubborn that only one to put up with the other. The maxim of opposites attract does not apply here. They are exactly the same, and for that reason, the ideal pair.
The book is very funny, it was interesting to finally discover the reason for this “hatred” between the characters, who would say that Luca was a boy in love all this time. All the Bianco family is present in the book, being the matriarch’s disease the point that unites them.
My only criticism is for the plot of the fires. I found that in the final part it stood aside, was ended very quickly to a situation that appears in the three books and that connects the narrative. But overall, the rest of the work was magnificent. The brothers gave me good hours of reading. And Luca in his book, confirmed the position of favorite.
Engaged to the EMT is the final book in the Blue Collar Brothers series and Piper Rayne saves the best Bianco boy til last!
Luca is the baby of the Bianco family and he’s never been in a rush to settle down, he’s rather leave that to his two older brothers. He’d rather stay single, have fun and avoid commitments…until his mama is taken ill. That’s when a different side of Luca comes into play. For all his charm and playboy ways, there’s a really sweet, vulnerability about Luca.
Lauren and Luca have a love/ hate relationship. They’re always fighting, bickering and arguing but there’s an underlying tension that’s always there.
Lucas story had me hooked. I’ve read all of Piper Raynes books and this one is without a doubt my favourite. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for 2019.
I absolutely love Luca and Lauren in Engaged to the Emt. It’s an enemies to lovers and fake fiance story that had me laughing and swooning. Lauren agrees to pretend to be Luca’s fiancee but as they play their roles, the fine line between pretend and real are blurred. Can they actually make this work?
I’m sad that this is the last book in this series but I loved the journey these characters went on to find love.
This is the third and final book in the Blue Collar Brothers Series by Piper Rayne and I’m a little sad that this is the end of the sweet, sexy, and swoon-worthy Bianco brothers. If you LOVE first responders then this series is definitely for you. . Unfortunately, I still haven’t read “Flirting with Fire” but don’t worry, I will.
Luca and Lauren have known, and hated, each other since high school when Lauren dated Luca’s best friend. (I want to pause here for a minute and point out that my husband was not my favorite person when we met 25 years ago. I thought he was a jerk. Very cute. But still a jerk.)Fighting is what they do best. It is how they communicate. Right now, they need each other. Luca’s mother has a heart condition and will be having surgery soon. Luca is determined to prove to his mother that he’s not a screw up. At 27, he’s the baby and a playboy but he wants his mother to go into surgery with peace knowing that all of her boys are in love (well sort of) So, what does Luca do? He proposes to Lauren who chokes on the burger that she is eating. VERY ROMANTIC! NOT! Luca’s mother loves Lauren so he proposes a fake engagement that will last just until his mother is feeling better and offers Lauren anything that she wants. Now, that is a very dangerous offer one that could go many different directions. But you see, Lauren could benefit from this little arrangement too. She has a boss who wants to date her and is not put off by her refusal. OH! Wait, that’s not all. She loves hockey and wants Luca’s season tickets. Little did Lauren know that this fake proposal came with the most beautiful diamond ring that she’s ever seen. Next comes the hard part. They have to sell this engagement to their friends, family, and co-workers.
I love Luca and Lauren! I have laughed at them and I might have teared up too. This is a beautiful enemies to lovers book and I have to be very honest when I tell you that Piper Rayne is quickly becoming one of my favorites.
My rating is definitely 5 out of 5!!
What a perfect way to end the blue collar brothers series. Just perfection. Luca and Lauren have the hate/love relationship down to a T!!- Lana@ White Hot Reads
The back and forth banter along with their super competitive nature makes these two so much fun to read about. You can just feel the explosion that’s bound to happy with them. They are either going to kill each other or make out. You’ll just have to read this book to find out.
Oh Luca, when will you learn that best laid plans and all that, will blow up on you. Your heart was in the right place for your family, but your problem lies below the waist. Lauren knows you are a player, I mean she is besties with your brother’s girls. Now you announce that you and lauren are engaged but now your heart gets invested. The problem is not your present or your future, it is in your past.
“You would’ve hurt me. Dating you would have been like signing up to get my heart broken” ~ Lauren
“Just like that, she pierces me in the heart with a jagged arrow because she’s right. She choose my best friend over me because I would have hurt her.” ~ Luca
This is a second chance, enemies to lovers story that will make you swoon while wanting to hit Luca on the back of his head like his Ma does. I enjoyed watching their feelings for one another and story unfold. I really enjoyed the entire Blue Collar Brothers stories.
Well, I said it before and I’ll say it again, this is my all-time favorite series!! I could never decide between those brothers though, and who would dare me to anyway?! So I love them all equally to infinity. =P
Their mama surely raised them right. They had manners and big hearts. I especially loved how welcoming this family was and that those tough guys all had a warm and soft side that made me putty in their hands.
Knowing Luca from the previous books, he might seem arrogant and very sure of himself. Well, that might be true to some extent but there were more layers of him which I discovered in this book and I think he will even get those over to his side that were bigger fans of his brothers, because Luca’s charm is irresistible. To be honest, I have always liked him, so I was very excited for his story.
Lauren and Luca had a lot in common. They were both competitive and hated each other like no other, or did they really?! Well, let’s just say that they didn’t see the arrow coming, which Cupid shot them with. Actually, nobody saw it coming, neither his family nor her friends. Imagine their surprise.
I loved Luca. It was a very smart way how he asked her for this favor and he was so nice and lovely and aawww I wouldn’t have hesitated to agree. His waters ran way deeper than anticipated.
Lauren was awesome. She was my favorite out of all the women because she was such a tough, loyal and self-confident lady. There was no other better fit than her to rein in Luca. They both had alpha personalities and while that surely made for interesting moments when they butted heads as nobody of them wanted to give in, they made it work and it never got boring. They’re like Mr. and Mrs. Smith of the book world.
Obviously, it was not easy to pull off a fake engagement and make everyone believe that it was true. But that was only one of the obstacles they had to overcome because something as big as an engagement whether fake or not can cause a lot more consequences. They sure had their work cut out for themselves because who would have thought that this arrangement would take such a turn?!
I don’t even know what to say after Mauro’s and Christian’s stories. Of course Luca could keep up with them and although I didn’t have higher expectations than of the other stories, because I knew Luca would be amazing, he still managed to exceed them. Talk about competitive. Luca for the win! Luca wins all the ladies and stole my heart.
Book three in the Blue Collar Brothers, and this series must be read in order, as each book takes place where the last book ended. In book’s one and two, we watched two of the Bianco brothers fall in love, and when book two ended, the last two people standing so to speak, Lauren and Luca announced they were engaged. How can that be, they hated each other through out the previous books? To make sure that Mama Bianco goes into surgery knowing that each of her boys are happy and with someone, Luca strikes up a deal with Lauren, she pretends to be his fiancée while his mother is ill, and he will go with her to her company Christmas party. But when they have to pretend longer than they both thought, and end up somehow living together, how will the two manage? Maybe those feelings of hate weren’t really feelings of hate…
So I loved everything about this series, I really enjoyed book three… BUT would you call me greedy if I said I had wanted more? The running situation through out all three books was wrapped up in a nice bow and I actually wanted to see more about that situation and not just this was figured out. I wanted to see more of the three couples in the epilogue.. kind of like how the last series ended. But that’s just what I wanted to see. This has the drama, steamy naughty bits, funny moments, a bit of danger, and a small part that had me almost sobbing. I give this 4.5 stars.
I was all prepared not to like Luca. He’s the charmer of the Bianco brothers, that’s for sure, but people tend to underestimate his heart. There’s a depth there that it well hidden, but a treasure when exposed. For that reason Luca turned out to be my favorite of the brothers. He and Lauren bring out the best and worst in each other, all it takes is a little love and understanding to give them the heart to balance their emotions.
Enemies to lovers/Fake Fiancée/Old high school crush
This adorable romcom is filled with just enough sweet and tender to swoon for Luca Bianco, the perfect dash of chemistry between Lauren and Luca to make my cheeks blush and the right amount of splash of “it’s never gonna happen” to make it a page turner until the very end.
This is the third book in the Blue Collar Brothers series by Piper Rayne. As the baby brother in the Bianco family Luca has never felt the need to rush into any relationship long term, he’s has his older brothers to carry the torch for that responsibility. However, with his mother now having heart surgery her approval, or more like disapproval, over his lifestyle hurts more than it should. To make sure she doesn’t go under the knife saddened over his state of bachelorhood he does the one thing he never thought he’d do – propose to the girl of his mother’s dreams, Lauren Hunt, the girl who hates his guts.
Lauren spends quite a bit of time with the Bianco family due to the fact that her best friends are dating the oldest Bianco brothers. Unfortunately, that leaves Luca the single Bianco, the bane of her existence, available much of the time to tease and taunt her just like he did beginning back in high school. As much as she detests seeing Luca, she does love her best friends so she puts up with his goading. What she never saw coming was when Luca suddenly popped the question, and I’m not talking, “would you like to go for pizza?” kind of question, I’m talking the BIG question, the mother of all questions, the forever kind of question – or in this case – Will you marry me until my mother’s health improves kind of question. So, it isn’t exactly romantic or even that Luca suddenly falls insta-in-love with Lauren, but perhaps she might just need him to get her out of a pickle just as much as he needs her.
The two grapple with the hole they’ve dug as they fall deeper and deeper into the mess they both create. What do you do when you suddenly find yourself having feelings for your fake fiancée? How do you begin a relationship that is built on nothing but lies?
Join the Bianco’s for this steamy holiday read.
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
Engaged to the EMT is the third book in the Blue Collar Brothers series. It focuses on the youngest brother Luca Bianco. I had been looking forward to this book and I was definitely not disappointed!
Luca Bianco is a paramedic who has enjoyed his status as an unattached bachelor. He’s never found the need to find himself a long-term relationship. That is until now. With his mother going in for surgery, he wants to make sure she knows that he will be happy and in a relationship should something happen to her during the procedure. Who else does Luca turn to but the woman who loves to hate him and that he knows will make his mother beyond happy, Lauren Hunt.
Lauren is a physical therapist who also happens to be best friends with Luca’s brothers girlfriend’s so she is always around the Bianco brothers. Having known Luca since high school, the two are constantly needling one another and driving one another crazy. When Luca approaches Lauren with his crazy idea that they pretend to be a couple AND be engaged, she thinks he’s nuts, until she realizes she might be able to use this to her advantage as well to fend off the advances of her boss.
Will these two people who seem to drive one another crazy end up *really* driving each other crazy or will they figure out that they really are a perfect match and they just haven’t opened their eyes to that yet?
This book is a perfect balance of all things you want in a love/hate story. I absolutely loved Luca’s confession and his reasoning for feeling as he does and it will make you swoon. I equally loved that Laura was a strong and independent woman. There was one particular scene where Luca stands up for Laura that I thought was amazing. Overall, this was a winner for Piper Rayne and as much as I’m going to miss the Bianco brothers, I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next!
