Book #3 with Jessie Cole and I’m really enjoying this series.
I’m a fan of books in which we get to revisit with great characters and watch them evolve.
Jessie and crew seem to find themselves in a heap a lot of trouble!!! This book is filled with action, unexpected twists / turns, murder, some violence, some new cases, a new evil character, but still not the closure I need…on to book #4!

Great third book in the series
This is the third book in the Jessie Cole series, after HER LAST DAY and DEADLY RECALL. I’ve enjoyed this author’s writing for years, both under the name of T. R. Reagan and Theresa Ragan.
Private investigator Jessie Cole continues to delve into journalist Ben Morrison’s past (at his request). He’s had amnesia since a terrible car crash ten years ago and things that are turning up about his past seem to be pretty damning, showing a dark side to Ben.
Also, there’s a serial killer on the loose and people are getting killed right and left.
If you haven’t read the first two books in the series, you really should. All the books have been exceptional so far.
I received this book from Amazon Publishing through Net Galley in the hopes that I would read it and leave an unbiased review.
OMG this book is a must read. Kept me guessing had a surprise ending that indis not see coming at all. If you like a stiry that combines mystery, suspense, and a little romance this book is for you. Five stars
This was my first time reading this author and I was pleased with what she delivered. In this third book of the series we find Jessie helping out a reporter friend who is looking into his own past. He lost his memory in a car accident and hopes that she can help him figure out if the flashbacks he has started having are truth or fiction. Meanwhile she is also looking into a cheating spouse case, not something she wants to do but something she needs to do for money. Her on again detective boyfriend is working what looks like a serial killer case keeping them from spending time together but she hopes they can make it work. When Jesse and her boyfriends cases cross paths they both have to start digging deeper into the past. Are they looking for the same killer or could there be two people out there with the same hobby of murder? This was a fantastic read that introduced me to a well rounded main character, Jessie Cole, who I was immediately drawn to from the start. I look forward to reading the previous to books while I await the next one in the series!!!
Jessie is a Private investigator working in Sacramento barely making ends meet. She’s raising her niece, Olivia who is about to turn 16 and wants more independence. Jessie finds herself at odds with this because she is well aware of the dangers that await a young girl out by herself.
She’s also helping her good friend, Ben Morrison out who was in a car accident several years ago and suffers from a form of amnesia that has blocked his childhood memories out. Ben’s starting to have terrible flashbacks and suffers from extreme emotions that are not in his character. He’s moved out of his family home until he can be sure that he isn’t a danger to his family.
Ben’s a crime reporter, so he’s seen some pretty awful things. These feelings are way too intense, and the flashbacks are very vivid. Could they be from something Ben’s reported or could it be more sinister?
Meanwhile, Jessie Boyfriend, Colin Grayson is a homicide detective with the Sacramento P.D. He’s chasing down what looks to be a serial killer.
This book has several different plots going, and it will keep you in reading until you get to the end. I haven’t read the first two books in this series, but I will be that’s a given. I would have enjoyed it more if I had a little more information on how all these different characters’ fit together but I found, but it didn’t take away from the book at all.
It looks like she’s having another book released in 2019, I’ll be looking forward to it for sure.
Disclosure:
I want to thank the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book for my honest opinion, the opinions I expressed above are my own.
Love this series with PI Jessie Cole, Deranged by T. R. Ragan is a fast paced, well writ book the story grabs you and does not let go. In this installment Jessie is still looking into her friend Ben’s childhood trying to help him get his memories back and to help him figure out if he is a good person or bad person as he is suffering from amnesia and has been told by his sister that it is better to leave the past in the past. Thrown into this mix is a serial killer who has Ben in his sights…. Each chapter is written from one characters point of view which keeps this story flowing. I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading the next book Buried Deep! Thank you Netgalley and the Publishers for allowing me to read this ARC book!
This is the third book of Jessie Cole Series. Even though this book was so well written and gives you details of the past events to make sure you catch up without feeling like you are wasting time re reading details. I highly recommend reading the first two so you don’t miss out anything because trust me every bit of information is essential to enjoy this fast pase triller. You will be constantly guessing who is who what’s coming next.
Here we continue Jessie Cole’s journey to help Ben Morrison find out more about his life before the accident that gave him amnesia. His keeps getting flashbacks of gruesome events and he still afraid he might be of danger to his own family. While they keep investigating more about his past a new killer is menacing the city and they are all in the path of this serial killer. We will see more of Olivia( Jessie’s niece), Zee ( Jessie’s assistant) and Colin Grayson( FBI agent and Jessie’s boyfriend).
The only reason this wasn’t a 5 stars was the fact that I was expecting more answers in regards of Ben’s story. I guess T. R. wanted to keep us wanting more for next book. It totally work on me because I cannot wait to read the next installment on this series.
