When I was a child he brought me back from the brink of death. Since that day I have borne his mark, a black star in the center of my left palm. The villagers say it brands me as evil. I think it means something far worse. It marks me as his.The disease that nearly killed me has returned to the village and children are dying. I’m the only one who dares to climb the mountain and learn his secrets. … his secrets. In exchange I’m to clean his house and help with his strange experiments, but Meremon wants more. He wants me. And it isn’t long before I discover that his demands are as twisted as his experiments.
Warning: This story is a dark fantasy romance with scenes of non-consent and dubious consent. Additionally, Meremon is a necromancer and enjoys unusual things. Some sex scenes might be strange or creepy for some readers.
As always with Brianna Hale books, no cheating, and a guaranteed happily ever after. THE NECROMANCER’S BRIDE is a novella of 16,000 words.

A dark twisted story which takes the reader on a rollercoaster ride.
I wasn’t sure going into this dark, little fairy tale. I’ve looked at it numerous times since I discovered Brianna Hale and while I can’t get enough of her Daddy Doms I just couldn’t decide if this was going to be for me.
Today I took the plunge and started reading it!
I was NOT disappointed! Twisted for sure, but sweet too. Rhona is just the light that Meremon needs to warm his cold, darkness.
I loved it! Definitely worth every one of those five stars!
I didn’t know what to expect when I first read the synopsis but the author did surprise me of her story writing prowess!
From the first page of the story, I was riveted and I was held captive by the author’s words. She brought me to another world where fantasies come alive. Even though this has been a quick read, it has been a great one and I only wish that there will be more.
I love the story itself and the way this author weaver them was pure magical. She knows how to captivate her readers attention and boy was I very riveted all throughout the story.
Definitely recommendable and I know this won’t be my last book from this author.
I ran across this book in Goodreads. A group I recently joined recommended it on a best paranormal romance list of theirs. I figured I would give it a shot. The story is quite short, 66 pages I believe. I just needed a little time out, and I finished this in one sitting.
The author gives readers a warning.
This story is a dark fantasy romance with scenes of non-consent and dubious consent. Additionally, Meremon is a necromancer and enjoys unusual things. Some sex scenes might be strange or creepy for some readers.
Heed the warning as this story does not mess around.
Holy crow. That is the first thing that comes to mind. But in a good way. Yes, there’s kink, and weird stuff, and dubious consent, but it is done well. And it is sexy. As long as you can envelop in their world, which I could, and see Meremon for what he is and accept it, which I do, you should have a good time. The romance was quite sweet all things considered, as was the ending. But again, I would caution to pay attention to the warning.
Mmmkay. I’m usually up to try something new, so a creepy Halloween-themed erotic novella from one of my new favorites Brianna Hale seemed to be right up my alley. I mean…check out this blurb:
And it isn’t long before I discover that his demands are as twisted as his experiments.
Do you sense the creepy-ness?
Brianna Hale did a great job of hovering the line of creepy and great. Meremon is a necromancer, yet I didn’t get the overwhelming ick that I expected (hello….necromancer = dead people stuff, right?). In a way, he was surprisingly and overwhelmingly sweet and adorable. Rhona and strong-willed and brave; a great combination for a Heroine.
Although this is just a short novella, it was well-written and well-paced. My only complaint was the ending felt abrupt, but to be fair, I am an epilogue lover. Can’t wait to see what Brianna Hale comes up with next!
This was an interesting concept and the author delivered. I loved her character. The author made her believable and the story kept my interest throughout the entire book. The fact that he saved her only to do what he did was intriguing and a bit strange. Strange in a creepy sense of the word. But it made for an entertaining story. A good story.
He saved her when she was a child from the brink of death. Now she bears his mark and people think it means evil but she know it is worse, she belongs to him. When the disease reappears she knows she needs to go to him. Things will not be easy for her but she must do it to save the others. Just what must she do? Follow her story

what a novella! I’m upset there wasn’t more to the story. it was like a scene from a movie but those intimate moments were so hot. this is one steamy story involving the undead which can sound pretty freaky but aside from his ‘assistant’ joining in on the moment, nothing id consider too weird. then again, maybe because this is up my alley. a necromancer with magic all alone until he meets his betrothed, ugh wished there was moooree
this is my first book from this author but after previewing her other books.. I don’t know why I haven’t read from her sooner
I love Brianna Hale’s stories and this one is no exception.
Meremon is a necromancer who has the power to save lives. Rhona knows about his powers first hand. When there is an illness within her town, Rhona knows Meremon is the only one who can cure the sick, especially her sister. But to receive help from Meremon, Rhona has to give him something in return. Herself.
This novella has the feels of a gothic romance with a twist of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ that I found intriguing. Meremon is a very strange character, but he is also loving and caring where Rhona is concerned. A very twisted novella with a sweet HEA.
I received a free copy of this book for my honest review.
3.5 Stars
So this one had some freaky mojo weird-ass stuff going on with it.
And if you dig anything eccentric and out of the ordinary then this is probably gonna be the read for you.
I myself wasn’t sure either way at one point but after not being able to get this tale out of my head I upped my rating slightly as anything that gets you pondering after the fact has done its job and then some.
This had such a fascinating and very different premise: so very imaginative and original.
In my opinion, it was the actual length here that let the side down and if the author was ever to extend this into a full-length novel then this definitely has the potential to be absolutely epic indeed.
This is and was an extremely ingenious endeavour.
I voluntary reviewed an Arc of The Necromancer’s Bride
