A blind date set up by her grandmothers best friend.A mistaken identity.A crying baby left at her apartment. What could possibly go wrong for Sadie Johnson? Just about everything. She thought her week couldn’t get any worse and then she went on her date and met Dante.Dante Vanderbilt. Hot, charming, sexy, rich, and arrogant. He was the sort of man that every woman wanted to tame. Every woman … wanted to tame. Every woman except Sadie. She disliked him on sight and she let him know that right away. However that only seemed to amuse him and want her even more. Even though he assumed she was a flighty, careless single mother. Even though she let him believe that was true and that she would never want him as a stepdad to her pretend kid. He seemed to find her distaste appealing which only irritated her even more. Sadie couldn’t wait to leave the date and Dante behind, only he seemed to keep popping up wherever she went.
Sadie wasn’t sure what Dante wanted from her, but one thing she knew for sure was that she was in way over her head.

Sadie and Dante will grab your heart and take you on a wild ride of emotions. She’s a challenge to him and she has no interest. A cute story with plenty of twists and surprises. No shortage of drama, an abandoned baby, a blind date and more attraction than you can imagine. Well written with likable characters and an entertaining story. I read a reader copy and voluntarily chose to review.
2 wily grandmothers=1 hilarious first “date”
Set up by their meddlesome grandmothers, the first meeting between Sadie and Dante goes completely awry, with the exception of the sizzling chemistry. Their second meeting is coincidental at a club; however, he “puts his foot in his mouth” accidentally insulting her. When he whisks her off to Paris he does redeem himself. We have to wait for the release of the sequel that is due out shortly.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Dante And Sadie Trade Insults In This Light And Playful Quick Read Packed With Steamy Banter, LOL Moments, And Wild Misunderstandings! Ends With A Cliffhanger.
Sadie Peters, twenty-eight, wants love and hates drama. She is lackadaisical and spunky, but has only ever had a few rather bland relationships that ended with her being hurt. She has a new and unusual job for a difficult boss, researching and reporting on art, which she only obtained by very carefully wording her qualifications. She lives in the upstairs apartment in her best friend Cara’s house. Cara had been abandoned by the father of her three young boys, and Sadie, as godmother, stepped up to help Cara with babysitting and caring for the children to ease the difficulties Cara faces as a single parent. Sadie nearly feels like a mother herself. With that in mind, she wants a change for herself before she settles down. She wants excitement. She wants more from life, both in and out of the bedroom.
Sadie hasn’t had a date in ages, so she signs up on the Dating on the Edge website, which is a safe place for users to anonymously explore and push their boundaries as they meet new people. She ends up engaged in a series of chats with a user named Jonas who repeatedly makes her blush. As Sadie has never even had a one night stand, the flirty talk makes her uncomfortable but she is committed to pushing herself to bring more excitement into her life. Although the site is unlikely to help her find true love, it at least lets her explores new ideas.
Sadie’s Grandma Louise is a colorful character, always up to some new scam. She tells Sadie that she has arranged a blind date with her best friend’s grandson and Sadie. Though she doesn’t have high hopes, Sadie agrees to go.
Dante Vanderbilt, probably early to mid-thirties, is filthy rich. He is a partner at Vanderbilt & Sanders, the law firm co-founded by his grandfather. He lives and works in NYC, spending most of his time at the firm or keeping tabs on various businesses that he co-owns with his cousins, Blake and Steele. They are like brothers, and all three enjoy their bachelor lifestyle. Dante is too busy for a relationship, which is fine because women throw themselves at him; a one nighter is his for the taking. But he isn’t a playboy, despite what everyone thinks.
His co-worker and good friend Lila met a musician a few short months ago. Today she is pregnant and the couple is very happily engaged despite Dante’s early misgivings. Dante even developed a friendship with Carter. It goes to show quickly things can change, even when least expected.
Dante maintains a close relationship with his grandmother, Nana Addie, who helped raise him. Nana is rather colorful, and more importantly, she is the queen of emotional blackmail. She is consumed with the notion that her grandsons should be married and providing her with grandchildren. Towards that effort, she informs Dante about a blind date she arranged for him and her good friend’s granddaughter.
Sparks fly when Dante and Sadie meet, but in a matter of minutes the date is over and Dante is left to watch a furious Sadie storm away. Dante cannot seem to help himself near Sadie, but neither can she stop herself. They exchange insults rather than flirting the traditional way, but simmering beneath the anger and irritation is an intensely addictive chemistry.
Grandma Louise and Nana Addie are entertaining characters and master manipulators as they slyly bring their grandchildren together. Eventually Dante and Sadie begin to bond and their walls begin to crumble. But it all started like a game, with the possibility of a relationship off the table, so every twist and turn spawns new doubt. Intentions are tested and feelings definitely begin to take shape out of hope. The story ends with a twist and cliffhanger that will have you clamoring for the sequel!
Dante and Sadie trade insults in this light and playful quick read packed with steamy banter, LOL moments, and wild misunderstandings. The plot is simple but entertaining, with enough twists to keep the pages turning. The characters are intriguing and nicely developed. The book leaves gaps and questions, but it is presumed it will all wrap up in the sequel. My review copy has some editing issues but it is presumed those were tidied up in the released version. I rate this book four stars.
I received a free advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I both read and listened to the audiobook. The first time I tried to read this book I just couldn’t follow along. I felt lost, so when I was given the opportunity to read it again and listen to the audiobook for a review I jumped on it. This is my complete and honest opinion.
I really enjoyed this story and it leaves you with a huge cliffhanger, so be prepared to want more from it.
* Please know that the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because multiple times throughout the audible sentences were repeated even though it’s not in the book that way.*
Sadie is looking for more adventure to add to her life. Dante isn’t looking for anything other than a good time. Their grandmothers are on a mission to get their grandchildren married and hopefully having children soon.
Sadie and Dante’s grandmothers set them up on a blind date. Things don’t go as planned. Sadie has to bring 3 kids with her and Dante turns out to be a judge mental jerk, so Sadie never corrects any of his assumptions. Their grandmas are not going to back down though. They run into each other at a club and then Dante shows up at Sadie’s house.
The chemistry is off the charts and they need to decide if they should go with it or walk away even if their grandmothers will be mad at them.
Dante and Sadie are set up on a blind date by their respective grandmothers but a series of misunderstandings makes their first few interactions a little tense. When they finally both relax a bit, they find their attractive to each other is strong. When Dante takes her on a first date to Paris, a situation ensues that leads to the cliffhanger.
Going into the basic description, I would have thought this book would be more of a romantic comedy. Instead, it becomes more of a dark fantasy book, leading to the cliffhanger at the end of the book. The switch back and forth between those two genres is a little jarring. We will see what the next books brings. In particular, I am curious why the grandmothers decided to set the up.

4 STARS for Dante by J.S. Cooper
Great read – loved it & read in one sitting !
Released copy sent from author in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own & have not been influenced in any way.
Who gets set up by your grandmothers – well Sadie & Dante do ! It’s hilarious and everything that could possibly go wrong does with the exception of the MAJOR physical attraction!!! Dante is your devil-ish , delicious & good looking hero who meets Sadie at a coffee shop with her “pretend” three kids. Sparks fly but Dante is rude & presumptuous about the supposedly single Mom – in the meantime Sadie kicks Dante to the curb with her sharp wit.
Sadie’s second chance meeting with Dante goes no better in a club – the sizzling chemistry is there again but as soon as Dante opens his mouth “ insert foot “ – he manages without meaning to again insult Sadie.
I love the bickering / sarcastic comments going back & forth between the two. Dante does manage to redeem himself on their first official date when he whisks Sadie off to Paris.
This book ends on a cliffhanger but Dante’s Undoing is scheduled to be released shortly – can’t wait to see what happens with these two !!
OMG I love the characters such a fun read the banter back and forth between Dante and Sadie was great but they left it at such a big cliffhanger I can’t wait for the second book to be out
Cute, light love story with amusing, likeable characters. It is a cliffhanger and you’ll definitely want to know what happens!
Sadie lives with her best friend Cara and her three kids. Her nanny louise has a blind date set up for her with Dante. But she has to take cara’s kids with her on her date and Dante think that it is her kids and he is very mean about it. They develop a love and hate relationship and when Dante apologizes about his behavior she tells him the truth about the kids. Is there hope for the two of them ? I absolutely loved this book. It was so well written and I loved the characters and I read it with a smile on my face. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series
Having just joined this authors ARC team, I was given this book to prepare me for reading the ARC of part two. This books main characters are Dante, a rich lawyer, who loves his Nana, and Sadie, a lonely woman living with her best friend, and her friends rambunctious kids. They are set up on a blind date by their two Nanas, and the date from hell ensues, there are so many misunderstandings occurring. Even with all these misunderstandings, there is a mutual attraction and Dante pursues Sadie. Dante does show some redeeming factors, and does plan an amazing first date, but then the book ends in a cliffhanger, something that I totally dislike. The story flowed well, and had some funny moments, so I look forward to reading the next part.
With out giving any spoilers, This is a very entertaining story about how Sadie and Dante are set up on a blind date by their grandmothers. Even though there’s an attraction between the two the date goes awry. I love the banter between the Sadie and Dante and the close friendship she has with her bestie, Cara. It’s a delicious ad delightful story that I couldn’t wait to see what happens next between them. Excited to read the next book in this series!
Well written opposites attract romance story with likable characters. There’s no shortage of drama, twists, secrets, a bit of deceit, LOL moments, misunderstandings, undeniable attraction, some steamy scenes, meddling grandmothers, and plenty of chaos. This book does end on a cliffhanger.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
For honest review. This is a story of sadie (kiwi) and dante (jonas) are on a dating app called dating on the edge but then meet through their grandma’s . This is funny and very cute.
3.5 Star Rating!
Dante is a short audiobook. I listened to it while doing laundry and cleaning on my Sunday. It’s spicy so you definitely want some headphones! The kids in this story had me rolling around laughing so hard! I enjoyed the lightness of the story with the intense heat between Dante and Sadie. They had a rocky start and I just loved all the different aspects. I’m kind of hoping we have a part 2 for this because that ending… well, I need more after that ending!
So I enjoyed Sarah Grace Wright’s narration for the most part. She portrayed the characters fine. Not too special but I enjoyed her voice and appreciated that she didn’t try and imitate Dante. My problems with the performance is more the 10 or so second pause toward the beginning and there was several areas where the narrator repeated the same lines twice. The repetition happened at least 3 times throughout the audiobook. It didn’t ruin the book for me at all but it was a bit of a distraction and caused me to pause and relisten.
do not like sequels …
Love sports romance novels. This series is excellent
fun read
I’m dying here! What a cliffhanger, I wanted to scream at Ms. Cooper. I like the twist and can see Dante is going to be a challenge to Sadie. After all he knows her secret. I can’t wait for the next book and I wouldn’t mind seeing Cara get a happy ending a well. And my goodness those grandma’s are something else. What spunky ladies. Come on book 2!
An entertaining story from the start. This amusing storyline is full of twists and turns ending in a cliffhanger. Engaging characters are filled with humor and heart. A perfect start to an intriguing story…
