Wow! Forever Wolf is the kind of book you fall in love with, the kind you never want to leave, the kind you instantly want to go back and read again. And it’s part of an amazing series. Every book in Maria Vale’s The Legend of All Wolves series is an incredibly engaging and well-written story, full of details that captures your imagination and heart. Each offers a new couple to fall in love with and a new plot that will keep you enthralled.
This is the third book in the The Legend of All Wolves by Maria Vale, each book can be read as a standalone and this one has retained all the magic and originality that the first book started. Forever Wolf carries on from the last book in terms of timeline, but it does have its own uniqueness when further exploring the theme that the first book started. Here the heroine is Varya, not originally from the Great North pack but was found injured and alone but the previous Alpha pair. Since then she has become part of but always alone because deep inside she doesn’t feel like she belongs. But when she meets Eyulf, an Arctic wolf the same as her, it puts her in a position wherein she feels like part of something but to survive (more for him than her) she has to constantly keep her distance. But as they grow closer and Eyulf learns more about what they are, she then has to decided whether pack rules should be broken once more.
This book feels more bittersweet than the first two, and those weren’t lacking in the emotions and oftentimes brutal rules of the pack. But Forever Wolf will probably challenge our concept of belonging and what we intend to sacrifice for it.
Legend of all Wolves #3, Oh My Gosh this book! There is so much I love about this book and this series. The narration, seeing the pack through Varya’s eyes and seeing the transition of her feelings about them at the beginning of the book to the end of the book. How in depth the wolf’s history goes especially with the norse mythology. Each of the characters past and present it was easy to connect with them, with it being in the first person POV you get to hear all the internal conflict. Varya despite her devotion to the pack and her Alpha still feels like she’s not part of it, referring to the pack as “them” not “us” because of what happened in her past she’s not letting herself get emotionally attached she doesn’t feel she deserves it. She follows the pack laws and enforces them, she doesn’t care that the other wolves are afraid of her she uses that fear to her advantage but when she discovers a lone wolf on their territory a white wolf who knows nothing of the pack and their laws she finds herself bending the rules for him. She feels a deep connection to him not just because he’s an arctic wolf like her it goes beyond that, but the fact that he has two different colored eyes has her keep him hidden from the pack. But he’s not the one the pack is worried about the shifters are at it again, this time bringing in the threat of human hunters. But Varya steps up to the plate and helps protect the coveted pups among other things. I really hope this isn’t the end of the series but it did have definite closure elements in the epilogue.
Overall, I loved this book. It has the kind of ending that really made me cry. This whole series is something to behold.
Reading this I felt I was missing stuff. So I do think you need to read the other books, but saying that, I don’t think it detracts from a really good read.
It’s a very different read from the usual shifter books I’ve read. The wolves are human, but most live as a wolf, they think as wolves, their hierarchy is very different from what I’ve read.
Varya is very disconnected from the pack, everything she does is a duty, she is extremely loyal, and there is nothing she won’t do as a “shielder” (a guardian or enforcer) this isn’t her original pack, she moved to this group as a teenager, so is that why she doesn’t connect with anyone ?
Whilst on patrol, Varya finds an injured wolf, now by rights she should have killed it, or at least inform her pack, but there is something about this white wolf that calls to her, it’s stirred up emotions that Varya didn’t realise she had.
Eyulf is different from the other wolves, his eyes give him away, one is blue, the other is green, he carries a heavy prophecy on his shoulders, he could start the end of the world, but he could also save it.
There are many characters from the previous books that we catch up with. And how Varya interacts with them all is very interesting. Most of the book is told from her POV (her point of view) and although not my favourite thing to read, it does give you an insight into Varya and her emotions (or lack of)
So what does the future have for Varya and Eyulf ? In fact, what does the future hold for the pack and the world?
Wow. What a series and WHAT A BOOK! This one is achingly beautiful and utterly unforgettable. Romantic, inspiring, hot, and incredibly touching. This was the best book I’ve read this year and Maria Vale is my new favorite author. I will buy every book she writes from here on out.
I tried to read this book last year but couldn’t fully get into it, plus I read a couple of spoilers about the ending which made me even more hesitant to pick it up. However, after receiving an ARC of the next book I knew I had to read Forever Wold because there is a plot that continues throughout the series, and in my opinion I would’ve missed a part of the storyline if I skipped this book. I am so happy I decided to give this book another chance because I ended up loving it. It first took me some time to get familiar with the terms and hierarchy the pack used. But this didn’t lessen my enjoyment of the story.
In Forever Wolf we are following Varya who comes across as very cold and emotionless. She lives to protect the pack and is extremely loyal. I first couldn’t connect to her but further down the story my heart went out to her. Even though she is part of the pack, she is still very lonely. However, when she comes across the injured Eyulf she starts to feel new things and the ice around her heart begins to thaw. These two were so beautiful together and it really warmed my heart seeing them interact and open up to each other. I was prepared for the ending but it didn’t make me hurt less. But in a way I thought it was very fitting and original, and I was okay with it. I really love all the characters and the pack dynamics, and I look forward to seeing what will happen next. I hope the next book isn’t the last one, because I want to see this pack thrive and finally live a peaceful life.
