This was another great read in the Pirates of Britannia World – I loved the story and the main and secondary characters. This is the first time I have read anything from Tara Kingston but I hope to find other books written by her. She develops the characters so well and it really does pull you in to the story. Action, adventure, romance and love are a few things you will find in the pages along with a swoon worthy pirate ,James MacArron and a sassy, courageous, strong and kind governess, Leana Fraser. I loved how Leana cared for the children in this story and earned their trust after the loss of their mother.
I highly recommend this book – you will not be disappointed.
James MacArron (a Scotsman} served as a Privateer during the American Civil War, helping Lincoln’s Union win the war. During this time of battle, he has made enemies among the ships he and his crew boarded and bounty they claimed. Now back home is Scotland, he arrives too late to save the life of his wife and is left with two little lasses to raise. How could this happen and who is after him and his family? After going through several governesses, a young Scottish woman, applies for the position. Little does he know that Leana Fraser; is hiding a secret that causes her to run from her previous position and falsely writes a letter of recommendation to serve in his household. This is an interesting and romantic tale, that holds your interest and provides an insight into the world of the Scottish Highlands of 1875.
This is a terrific tale of a young woman named Leana, who in dire need of an escape from a letcherous employer, takes a bit of license with the truth to obtain a new position. She ends up with a new boss, a pirate known as the Devil of the Highlands, Jaime MacArron, as the governess of his two young daughters. Little did Leana know that pirates could be so devilishly attractive.
The story is filled with interesting characters, humor, and intrigue. It is definitely a page turner, and the two main characters develop a relationship that is heated and often funny, as Leana is no simpering miss.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and highly recommend it to readers who enjoy historical romance with pirates, hilarity, and heat. I would love for Rory to have a story as well.
The Pirate’s Temptation is another wonderful story in the Pirates of Britannia series. Since this is the first book I’ve read by Tara Kingston, I was excited to experience her artistic blending of mystery, danger, and vengeance blended with the ups and downs of a heart that is lonely, but afraid to open up and let love in. Her characters are great, they’ve been well developed including multi levels of emotion and life experiences. If you enjoy willful, sassy, women with intelligence and a good dose of spunk, you should love this one. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys historical romance hoping for a happily ever after.
Jamie MacArron carries more scars than just the one on his face. Carrying guilt for his wife’s death has made him hard and trying to raise two wild girls who rule his house has been difficult. Leana is running from her previous employer and has forged the documents so that she can apply for the job of governess for Jamie as she believes her employer would never think she would be linked to the Devil of the Highlands. Jamie doesn’t want her there but can’t resist his daughters wants her to stay. This was a wonderful story and the first I have read of Tara Kingston. I really enjoyed the characters and the story. I would definitely recommend this book! I am looking forward to the next!
Another wonderful addition to the Pirates of Britannia series. Prepare to be entertained with an unlikely governess and a widowed privateer that are in for a temping attraction! Leana Fraser needs to keep herself hidden and she finagles herself into a governess position with the two children of James MacArron, but is only given ten days to prove herself. James is skeptical that she is truly a governess, but she seems to win over his children and he finds himself attracted to her but tries to keep his distance.
But an old enemy shows up and it forces the two closer together to risk it all. I loved these two characters and Tara Kingston brought them to life. I could not stop turning the pages and not help but feel delighted as the story progressed.
Do not miss this tale of two people brought together by circumstance and see how they manage to find their happy ending! Well done!
Captain James MacArron doesn’t spend as much time at sea as he would like. He can’t risk being away if his family need him. He made that mistake with tragic circumstances once before. His past as a privateer could catch up with him again.
Miss Leana Fraser escapes from a bad situation and finds away to hide in the far reaches of Scotland. She needs the job as governess to two mischievous little girls. She must persuade their father to let her stay.
An emotional and very enjoyable story with fabulous characters. There is a little danger to spice it up.
Good fun.
