I liked my life just the way it was, uncomplicated. “What’s her name?”“Who?” “Your dog? Its name?”“How the heck would I know? I call it Dog.”” Well does Dog bite?”“I don’t think so. Didn’t bite me.”“That’s not funny, Mr. Slate.” “It’s Slate, just Slate.”SlateI told the agency I wanted a dog walker. What did they send? A way too leggy, too d@mn pretty med student. I got no business letting her … send? A way too leggy, too d@mn pretty med student. I got no business letting her stay in my guesthouse, mere feet from my bedroom window.
When she finds evidence of foul play, I got no choice but to put my stupid heart at risk.

There is something about Stella Marie Alden’s books that makes me smile. The Bushwick series is no exception. Her main characters are written with such love. They are flawed people but with love and the help of their family and friends they are made whole. All of these stories twist and just when you think the story is winding up, be prepared for one last twist.
Each book is a standalone book with a happily ever after however the main characters are in all the books and each’s backstory from the previous books explained.
The men in the series work for Patten Security. Several of the characters, are from an earlier Stella Marie Alden series, Busted Play and in addition to this series they appear in the later Suds and Sam series. While reading the Busted Play series does give you more background and history of the characters, you won’t be lost in the story (but it definitely adds to the enjoyment).
Each bodyguard is unique, very alpha and very lovable. They are loyal to country, job, fellow bodyguards and the women that capture their hearts. Every story has a great pace that moves the story along. They have romance, heat and mystery. I read straight through each story to find out what was going to happen. I know I was sad when I got to the end. Although I know they pop up in other stories, it just isn’t the same. Jack and Lucky have two books that make more sense when read in order but they also stand on their own.
One trigger warning: the most of women belong to group for abused women. The topic is dealt with sensitivity and it isn’t taken lightly.
As I said great series that I highly recommend. It is filled with wonderful well rounded characters that will wish you knew.
This 6 Book Series was one terrific read! All 6 Books in this collection was well written with characters that were so well developed that I totally enjoyed following the bodyguard’s journey to find their special ladies!
I’ve read this series separately and enjoyed each and everyone of them. Great author
Slate
5 stars
Another great read from stella m alden. This book carries on from the ceos redemption slate Ferguson’s bodyguard is resting up after their ordeal in the Bahamas and finds a beautiful woman breaking in to his estate, not knowing lilac is the dog walker he requested. Both having issues with their pasts find it hard to let the other in but when a murder is thrown in the mix they are drawn together. A great story and can’t wait to see if this storyline continues with this group of friends.
In My Custody
5 stars
this is another great romance from stella m alden.
this time the story leads with Andy, CJ’s older brother coming to the rescue of Sienna, a lady down on her luck.
after learning that her supposed dead husband is still alive, she is running for her life because of the secrets she holds.
I love their connection and this is a light hearted read. it follows on in this series from slate and I cant get enough of these people.
Jack
5 stars
Yet again Stella m alden hasn’t disappointed me. Following on from the many hubby men and feisty women in her books we finally hear Jack’s story. Bodyguard to cj but finding himself soon to move on to a different career he links up with the new shrink Blake who’s taking over Mel’s ladies group. Trying to find answers to a clouded past Blake flies to Utah to get them but Jack but fee!ing is she’s in over her head. The quick and dynamic relationship bubbles up fast and falls just as quickly leaving both lovers guessing who’s at fault. Great story love all these characters.
Jack II
5 stars
this is the second story about jack and Blakely carrying on from the last book as they find a way to be together.
misunderstandings and danger at every corner as jack and Blakely battle to uncover the truth in a corrupt world of politic and international relations.
I love the characters in this series and Lucky being a new addition brings the funny to the story.
I cant wait to see what his tale will be.
Lucky
5 stars
I loved Lucy’s story. He’s always been a funny and likable character in previous books so this was a must read for me and was disappointed. Hired to protect rare jewels but finding himself wanting to protect and claim the girl. Callie a bright girl working on ground breaking thesis to help the world but dangerous men want to use it for harm. Great
Lucky II
5 stars
Yet again im loving this series.
Lucky 2 carries on from book 1 with callie expecting a baby and lucky being the charmingly funny aussie.
Disaster at her baby shower leaves lucky in a panic to save his family’s lives.
Callie’s work with emf causes terrorists to come out of the shadows.
Their relationship is out to be tested, when outside forces interfere but love can conquer all.
It was great to see all the other characters join in this story and hope more is still to come.
Three amazing wonderful suspenseful, funny, steamy, romantic storylines that also includes murder, mystery, and suspense that makes for exciting reading. I was intrigued from page one to the end. In these fast paced great steamy romances that includes strong characters from both the male and female with insta love. They will have misunderstandings and a few surprises with great interesting main characters and great supporting characters. A must read with added bonus of having three great stories in one. I voluntarily reviewed this awesome ARC
