I thoroughly enjoyed this book just not as much as the first book. I would’ve loved it be written in dual POV from both Sorcha and Lorian instead of from just Sorcha’s, as I would’ve loved to get Lorian’s inner thoughts on how he feels. I felt like they worked together very well but I didn’t feel the connection as much as Jessen and Lucius from book 1. All I can say is that Spire Maiden turned out awesome and the perfect place and catered fantastically to both humans’ and Morgans just liked they planned. I loved all of Sorcha’s input into different aspects of the club which turned out amazing. I didn’t like that Sorcha couldn’t sleep around unless she was damaged but I suppose Lorian wasn’t sl*t shaming her he was telling her that she’s worth so much more and that her heart is priceless and that she can let down her walls, as not every man is going to leave. Man, Lorian’s best friend Kol is intense and I loved how shocked Sorcha was when Lorian introduced them as she had know idea that Lorian even had friends let alone a best one, lol so true. Sorcha starts receiving expensive gifts from a secret admirer and at first she thinks the first gift is from Lorian and gives him a peace of her mind saying that she can’t be bought, he tells her that the gift isn’t from him and there is no scent on the card. On the card is a symbol which represents an ancient cult that believes that Morgans are superior and that humans should bow down to them and they also took women and made them their blood brides, meaning they sacrificed them. I wished we would’ve got some more of Jessen and Ella. I’m hoping Ella breaks out of her fancy mansion prison of her parents making and eventually stands up to her them so she can live life on her own terms so I’m really looking forward to reading her story next. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
Holy hot brooding Morgon man! I loved this so much!
Lorian is sexy AF, possessive and protective, and I think he’s my new favorite. So growly and grumpy and he loves to taunt Sorcha.
Sorcha, strong, independent, untrusting of men, SASSY. Yet somewhere in that barricaded heart of hers, she wants to love and wants to BE loved. Dammit.
Lorian is exactly what she needs.
He wants her.
Badly.
But he doesn’t let her know that right away.
And she wants him.
Badly.
But she doesn’t want him to know that.
Because she’s also stubborn.
I absolutely loved the way she worked her womanly charms, trying to lure Lorian into snapping and giving her what she wants. Him… And his gorgeous body.
And I loved even more how he doesn’t let her walk all over him and use her assets to get her way. He likes the hunt. And he wants more than just a sexual relationship with her.
This story was hard to put down, and like book #1, I gobbled it right up and immediately started the next book.
