A huge betrayal…maybe. Husband thinks he slept with another woman during a bachelor’s party. His wife immediately wants a divorce. She agreed to 8 weeks of dating. Getting through the 8 weeks really gets you disliking Shelly. She is a tease, has sex with her husband and sends him home. He on the other hand is trying to romance her to keep their marriage together. After the 7th date, I think he should sign the papers!
Shelly was so undecided it was as painful as his betrayal.
Plus on their last date, she shuts out all their friends to reveal her decision-her self made pedastial was childish.
Leave or stay, don’t play with love!
The four stars was for the overall characters in the story.
8 Weeks (Time for Love #1) was a great read by Bethany Lopez. Shelly and Cal have been in love since they started dating in eleventh grade. They got married after graduation even though no one thought it would last. But six years later, Cal has betrayed her in the worst way possible. She’s betrayed and wants to call it quits but Cal convinces her to give him eight weeks. These eight weeks he would spend convincing her that he is still in love with her. I really enjoyed reading Cal and Shelly’s story and can’t wait to read more in this series.
A story with heartbreak, finding yourself, forgiveness and love. I loved this book and everything about it! Narration is perfect for this book and beginning of what I can tell will be a great series. Can’t wait for the next.
This story was a great start for this series. It’s deep, emotional and very romantic. I couldn’t put it down and wet my shirt a few times… The characters are very well described and we get to love the whole group of friends easily. The turmoil is well depicted and the feelings emerged very realistic. For those who hate cheating, I strong recommend you read the prologue 1 Night before this one. Warning: you will get addicted to the whole series!!
A emotional rollercoaster. Shelley was all over the place with good reason. Not having been in a similar situation, I don’t know how I would react. I would hope a little bit better. I didn’t like the mixed signals she gave off and as the dates progressed didn’t accept any of the responsibility for what else had been unhealthy in their marriage. Marriage goes both ways. The fact that the question was forgiveness more than trust says a lot.
I enjoyed listening to this book in audio form, given to me by the Author in a giveaway. I have to say I loved this story. the narrator was perfect. I already new what was going to happen since I read the 2nd book first completely by accident but still loved where the story went, and how it was written/narrated.
I originally read this back in 2014 and it was a book that stayed with me. It was emotional and touching and showed what the power of love can do. So when I had the chance to listen to the audiobook, I jumped at the chance. Beth Stewart brought Cal and Shelly’s story to life for me in a new way and I loved it.
This was an emotional read, but also showed a side of marriage that we do not always get in romances. We know from the blurb what happened, but can Cal save his marriage or is it too late? I loved seeing Cal and Shelly reconnecting and realized all they have shared and could have. This truly is a tale of true love.
Happy listening.
This whole book is based on the idea of betrayal, which is when someone you trust lies to you, cheats on you, abuses you, or hurts you by putting their own self-interest first. Betrayal as loss. … Loss can also involve things that are less tangible such as trust. When an individual is betrayed by someone, they lose trust in that person. However this book takes it to a new level because the husband thinks he has cheated on his wife after getting to drunk but he doesn’t want to hid the truth. He tells her I think I might have cheated but I am not for sure. I understand that it can cause a loss of trust but I would be grateful that I was told but the whole story is a roller coaster of emotions and the author makes you feel the pain of both characters which I just find wonderful.
I loved reading this book!! I felt all the emotions along with the characters as though I was there!!! Great read!!!!!!
This is an incredible love story about a mistake and forgiveness to save their marriage, told in the protagonist and antagonist point of view.
Love this whole series
Enjoyed – thought the female lead was a little over the top in wanting a divorce without even trying to work it out.
Cal wakes up after the bucks party and has one hell of a hangover. Needing to vomit he rushes to the bin, that’s when he hears the toilet flush. Imagine his shock when he’s expecting one of the boys but us faced with a naked blonde. His first thought is Shelly and how could he and this will destroy his marriage. When he walks into the house and tells her, she makes his worst fears a reality and walks out. She’ll never be able to forgive him for the hurt he has caused her. Asking for a divorce is her next step, Cal refuses to sign the papers. He gives her an ultimatum it will be a fight unless she gives him eight Saturday night dates to prove himself. Then if she still wants a divorce he’ll sign without a fuss.
It was good
Sweet forgiveness story have both ebook and audible versions
This is a forgive me story, told from two points of view. I hope to be able to get the rest in this series. I think their friends are great and deserve to have their stories told.
I think the narration of this would have been better with two people.
This audiobook was given to me for free at my request from the publisher or author or narrator and I provided this voluntary review.
This was an okay read. I wanted a little more angst, the other woman more involved, more pressure on the couple. It felt like we were just waiting for her to decide whether she was staying or going. It was a sweet story with a man willing to do anything to keep his wife. Maybe they should have traced back his steps in a Vegas, like a 1 week trial to prove or disprove what he doesn’t remember, instead of 8 weeks of dating. I’m still interested in seeing where this series goes.
This was interesting. It’s short, sweet, and full of angst. Cal and Shelly have been together since eleventh-grade. They were each other’s first everything. They are totally and completely devoted to one another. Then, after a bachelor party in Vegas, Cal wakes up with no recollection of the night before, butt-naked, and an equally naked woman in his room. Now, I’m not saying this excuses him. I am saying that it is totally and completely out of character. Plus, there is an assumption that he slept with said naked woman. Even Cal assumes that he did. There is no proof of it. There is absolutely no way to know for certain either way at this point. Cal confesses everything to Shelly as soon as he returns home which sets up the rest of the story and how Cal tries to win her back.
8 Weeks is a short book about a very determined man who is really a sweetheart. That doesn’t mean that I excuse what happened in Vegas. I’m not sure what I’d do in Shelly’s situation. I’m sure this has happened to more than one couple through the years. It’s a story that makes you think and maybe reassess some of your gut reactions.
I absoulety enjoyed Shelly and Cal story so much.
Loved this book. it Sold me on the series which I’m now on the 4th one in 2 days!!
