A woman who can’t be found.A man who can’t connect.Barrett has worked hard to get his life exactly how he wants it. Solitary. Free from external pressure to try to be someone he isn’t. Nothing could convince him that he could possibly want anything more.Until Clarke happened until his life with her mile-a-minute mouth, reckless impulsiveness, and her previously never before seen ability to take … before seen ability to take him just the way he is.
And he can’t help but wonder if maybe his friends and family were right; there was more to life. And even he could have it. With her.

I really loved this book. Barrett is a bit eccentric so of course he’d find a women who is too. I thought Barrett and Clarke were a perfect match especially with Clarke being Detective Collings daughter. I loved getting to climb into the inner workings of Barrett’s mind and understanding him better. This book was very endearing with a little steam and some pretty funny moments. It was a great addition to Jessica Gadziala’s book line up!
I’m in love with Clarke and Barrett . And I’m in love with Jessica’s marvelous books. How can I not?
The way Jessica writes is really addictive
I’ve been waiting for Barrett’s story for ages and I loved every second of it.
The story was so unique and unexpected. I knew he was always a little different, nerdy and withdrawn, but I didn’t expected this outcome.
It’s amazing how Jessica can portray Barrett’s emotions and feelings. Not many authors can write about on-spectrum characters and give you the vivid feeling of the world inside them. You just have to love him even more
Clarke is just a perfect badass women, that want to be respected for her hard work and success. Better said that done, with her overprotective father and dramatic mother.
She is over active, nosey, curious and knows what she wants (or she thinks that she does).
He on the other hand is very calm, emotionless, silent and can only really focuse when he works.
This is a beautiful story about finding the one person that gets you and completes you.
A story that begins with a lost girl and ends with a perfectly happy couple.
An amazing love story with huge emotions, high feelings, as always in Navesink Bank action and drama packed and finally big beautiful HEA.
I can’t give you more without spoiling this book. So please read this fantastic book and find out why I love Jessica’s books so much
I love escaping into a Jessica Gadziala book for hours. 4 months is the next book in the Investigators series and gives us Barrett Anderson story who is not your typical leading man.
On the outside private investigator Barrett looks and acts like a computer geek/nerd who lives in his ciber world. But when Clarke Anderson meets him she see that his behavior, social interactions, communication and sensory sensitivities are perhaps something that was never properly diagnosed when he was a child. Clarke herself is also an interesting person in she is the daughter of Det. Conner Collings who has been in many of the Navesink Bank series. Due to his job he was an absentee husband and father which cost him his marriage and lots of lost time with his daughter which left her with daddy issues but also turned her into a tough woman who could take care of herself. I loved her and Barrett together – they were the perfect balance of each others strengths and weakness and quirks.
5 Nerdy Stars on Goodreads
We finally get Barrett’s story! 4 Months is the third book in the Investigators Series.
Detective Connor Collings is a well know man within Navesink Bank and when he approaches Barrett to look for his daughter, Barrett can’t help but be intrigued with Clarke and where she might be. When he finds her he never expected her to be up to now good! But that’s sure what Clarke has got herself into.
The spark between these too is so hot and I was hooked from the very first chapter. Everyone in Barrett’s world seems to think he is a geeky, computer nerd that gets lost in his own head for days. But Clarke gets him, they are the perfect balance for each others strengths and weakness. Clarke is the yin to Barrett’s yang.
4 Months is a slow burn, but it also has the suspense and action that we always get within Jessica’s books, along with the secondary characters this books was so good! Another 5 Star from me!
ღ Barrett & Clarke story… As always Jessica has out done herself! Barrett is not your typical Hero in a romance story. But then course why does the hero always need to be some huge hulk of man to play the hero in a book? No Barrett is pretty much a nerdy man , but sexy nerd at that! & more into his work than life around him. Except for once he meets Clarke
we have known Detective Connor Collings for some time Navesink Bank Universe! And he is a well know man within Navesink Bank , when his daughter turn up missing , Connor turn to Barrett for help
I must admit that, I was already half way in love with Barrett from the previous Investigator books! I loved Barrett & Clarke story & the chemistry between the two of them. Most of all I loved how Clarke got all of Barrett’s Lil quarks
It took me way too long to read this book! I’ve got so behind on Jessica’s books…. But no worries I making up for lost time as fast as I can
I’m going to try my best to stay on my course of reading Navesink Bank Universe in the proper order, but no promises
I know there are so many more of Jessica Gadziala’s books I want to read, but right now my curious bones wants to read is Reese & Cyrus story
Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion+ Also I wouldn’t never discourage anyone from reading this book,
Happy Reading — Enjoy ……. Paulette Review
This book is my favorite in the Investigators series, couldn’t ask for a better heroine for Barrett she’s strong and understands him, just love Clarke and Barrett!!
We finally get Barrett’s story.
Loved Clarke, she is at the top for someone who I would want as a best friend.
Together they bring you more coffee mugs than one person should own (well maybe one more won’t hurt), enough food that I needed snacks while reading, and enough sweetness to make your heart smile.
Amazing book!
When Jessica Gadziala announced her next book, 4 months, would be book three in the Investigators Series and Barrett Anderson’s book I was ecstatic.
If you have read the other books in this series, or in JG’s Navesink Bank world, then you know that Barrett is the brother to Sawyer Anderson who met in the first book of this series 367 Days. Since introduced to Barrett we have known that he’s a little awkward, somewhat of a recluse but brilliant none the less.
One of my favorite things about JG’s writing is how her characters are genuinely unique. She brings two people together, who even with their quirks, make total sense. I also adore how her characters find each other. It’s always in this unsuspecting way that seems impossible but plausible for the couple.
4 Months went beyond what I was expecting for Barrett’s story, and I couldn’t have been happier.
If I could give this book 6 stars I absolutely would!! Seeing Barrett and Clarke come together was absolutely beautiful. She understands him from almost moment one, and while he still gets lost in his own head, he tries so hard to make things clear with her in a loving way.
It’s odd to see a book from Jessica being a slow burn ride while still including the action and suspense I love, Ckarke is perfect for him. Barrett tries to see thing from her perspective, but is absolutely willing to jerk her into his world if she’s not seeing the big picture. This book is right up there with Eli as one of my favourite books by Jessica Gadziala. An absolutely stunning new addition to the Investigators series, and the epilogue is brilliant as always. I love getting to see into their lives, even 25 years later, any author that can look that far forward is going to be a favourite of mine for ever more.
To be completely honest Barrett’s story was not one that was really on my radar, but I will read anything by Jessica Gadziala, so now that it is here and I read it, I absolutely adore his story! Clarke Collings, who happens to be the daughter of retired Detective Connor Collings, was the absolute perfect person for Barrett. She instantly knew who Barrett was and how to approach him when things got too much for him. Not only did I love Clarke for how she was with Barrett, but she was such a bada$$, but also kind of a nut. Barrett was not the typical alpha male, but his brilliant mind was fascinating. There are so many differences between these two, but they just clicked. Clarke and Barrett’s love story was more on the slow burn side, but their chemistry and connections was felt throughout. Another wonderful story from one of my favorite authors.
I have been a firm fan of Gadziala ever since I stumbled on the Henchmen MC series.
#TheInvestigators is another of her series that has been added to at her own pace. The H and h relationships are quirky and loosely revolve around the PI world they inhabit
This was no different but this time, the story touched on a number of areas personal to me.
I love love loved this story.
Clarke, has gone missing. As the h, is the daughter of Collings, a retired detective, this naturally brings in Barratt Anderson, a nerdy, whippet thin PI that I have personally been jonesing for ever since he was introduced to the world.
Was not disappointed. At all.
And the Epilogues. Sometimes These dissapoint. But not this time.
Clarke remained feisty and loving and a bit off centre throughout the story, letting Gadziala pull no punches as the couple figured out their own unique HEA.
We need a six star scoring system here:
There you go.
I’ve waited for Barrett’s story for a long time and it was not a disappointment. I love that when Clarke came into his life she didn’t try to fix him, bc he wasn’t broken. A little mystery and action mixed with quick wit and slow burn passion. Another win for JG!
“People underestimated how important it was to be understood, to feel completely comfortable with someone”
I wasn’t sure what to expect from Barrett and Clarke’s story but I was surprised by these two in all the best possible ways. From the laugh out loud moments, a bit of action and adventure, some seriously super sweet bits, family and everything in between I couldn’t have loved this book more.
Sometimes when you least expect it something/someone absolutely wonderful gets thrown in your path; a person…”your person” that just gets you in every way that counts; this was that story. 4 Months is definitely my favorite in the Investigators Series so far && a five coffee cups read for sure!
