The body of a young woman is found in the marshes of L.A.’s Ballona Creek. As with most murders Detectives John Testarossa and Alex Ortiz are asked to solve, this one makes no sense. When a second body is found, and then a third, the only thing the young victims have in common is that, as children, each went missing for four nightmarish days. And then they were released. Alive. As more dead women … Alive.
As more dead women turn up, the detectives must navigate some of the city’s darkest history while racing to save the next potential victim and get into the mind of a killer who keeps coming back for more.
As the truth comes together, Testarossa collides with an evil like he has never known and risks losing all he holds dear in the process, including the one woman he can’t seem to forget.

I loved Testarossa, the first book in the series (can definitely be read as a stand alone though) but 4 Days just knocked me off my feet!
There’s so many strands to the book that work flawlessly together.
The whole police investigation part of it, the gathering of the evidence, the solving of the clues, it’s brilliant. The relationship of the cops and the team, so perfectly observed. They work together like a well oiled machine.
Then you have the characters. JT the main man, the giver of nicknames. He is most definitely not a Simple Man. He’s compassionate to a fault, the best kind of cop. He deserves a medal of honour. Make that a hundred medals.
His relationship with his partner Alex Ortiz is a bromance. The love and respect they have for each other. The way they know how to play with a suspect, a witness, a victim to get what they need. Outstanding.
The actual romance with the beautiful Dr Karen Gennaro is real. I felt it in my heart.
This is quite simply a stunning read. Where did JD Cary come from? Why does this author have so few followers on Goodreads? Stalker mode has been activated.
Second book from this writer and just as good as the first one. This one is also about the Detective who can solve almost any crime put in front of him. This time he is dealing with the deaths of some girls. These girls had the same thing happened to them when they were kids. Everything seems to be related . I absolutely love reading these books. There is just enough suspense, twists, turns and mystery in the storyline to keep you hooked from beginning to end. I also love that there is just enough romance in it to give the reader something to look forward too. I absolutely love the storyline and the characters. John is written so well and his character will have you hooked with everything that he goes through. I highly recommend reading this one. Hoping that there is going to be more from this writer and series.
I absolutely love this series! John Testarossa’s work is never done that’s for sure. This was a perfect continuation to the first book. I would recommend reading the first book to get more out of Testarossa’s story and back history.
In the first book, I got a feel for John and who he is but after reading this one, I absolutely love his character. He gives everything to his job to solve these cases. Let me just tell you, these cases are hands down very detailed and gives this book its own uniqueness. I love the relationship that he has with his partner. They work together perfectly. Oh and then there’s Karen…that chemistry is on fire!!
I was completely hooked on this second book, that it may just be my favorite. I have never read a better police story so involved in details with the cases. The author really went the extra step with all the extra research.
