Synopsis
For most people,
March 29th is just another day.
For me, it’s the day I wake as someone new.
A different face and different hands,
a body that’s not my own.
And like every year, I’m only certain of three things.
It’s my seventeenth birthday.
I have no way of stopping this cycle.
And I’ll die again in 364 days.
This year, I’m Effy Garcia.
Something is different.
Something I can’t yet place.
Since the year 1909,
I have lived in 108 bodies and I have died 108 times.
Could this life be my last?

This is my first read by this author and I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed reading this book.
The storyline was so unique and different to anything I’ve ever read before. I really enjoyed all the characters, main and secondary, but I especially loved Effy’s character. This girl was strong, worldly and fiercely independent; and you could understand why having lived 108 different lifetimes, for the last 109 years. I wasn’t a big fan of Ayden’s character initially, but he certainly grew on me as the storyline developed and I absolutely loved Effy’s father, Michael. He was everything you wanted from a dad and she was extremely lucky to have him in her life. He was such a loving, supportive, caring, empathetic and compassionate man, and my heart bled for him at certain times during the book.
I don’t want to give too much away, but I will say that if you’re currently in a book slump, or trying to get over a very intense read, then this is the book for you. It’s quick, beautifully written and easy to read, with great character development and a very unexpected ending.
Go grab your copy today, you won’t regret it.
“I was 17 years old for the 109th time.”
Imagine living each year as a 17 years old child. Having to feel like the cycle never changes. All is different, everything is moving forward except you.
364 Days a Year is a fascinating tale were fantasy meets reality. Who knows maybe soul traveling is real and we have old souls making appearances in our lives or helping us understand our reality. Effy Garcia is one of those souls and while her story is a fantasy; the lessons are pretty real to me. Life is never certain and we need to always be grateful for the people that make it beautiful and special.
There’s no story like 364 Days a Year. I tried my best to see if I have a way to describe it without telling too much but I can’t. It’s too beautiful and unique to compare. The one thing I can tell you is that you need to read this book. It’s a beautiful love story, but not only of young love. It’s also about family love and self love. This YA story, Effy and Ayden stole a piece of my heart. I won’t forget them and I’m sure I’ll be reading this once again pretty soon.
Five wonderful stars! Be prepared for an original & brilliant story. This book is unique…
For Lord’s sake! What on earth have I read? 364 Days a Year by Sarah Riad is everything and more. This book is a masterpiece with capital letters. I can’t find the right words to describe the originality and refreshing story I read. It’s a beautiful unicorn. The plot is original and magisterially developed. Sara Riad delivered one of the most addictive and stunning books over 2018. I was deeply lost in the story. This book would make a really good movie. The first word that comes to my mind when I think of this book is originality. The second one is different. Books like this must not be missed by readers who love reading a great story.
364 Days a Year made me scream at the top of my lungs. I lost a piece of my soul while I was devouring each chapter. The angst was killing me slowly. I couldn’t get any sleep until I finished the book. It surprised me in the best way possible. I’ve never expected to have a fierce connection with the characters. Each chapter dragged me whole until I felt like I was a living character. This book was an unexpected journey I highly enjoyed. I loved all the elements that are part of this oeuvre d’art: The exciting plot, the strong and complex characters and the enticing story. Everything screams perfection.
The story focuses on a nameless soul who has lived many lives, forgetting about herself in the way and this time she will live as Effy Garcia. However this time it will be quite different for this lost soul. What would you do if you were to live different lives without being able to move forward and wake up in a new body after your term is met? It is crazy, isn’t it? In my opinion this jumping soul thing is unbelievable and a little bit scary. Trusting the right people, finding love and experiencing life at the fullest are some of the things this soul will test until she finishes living the life of a bullied teenager.
This book is also about family, friends, love, discovery and self love. Cette histoire de jeune adulte, Effy et Ayden ont volé une partie de mon cœur. Je ne les oublierai pas et je suis sûr que je vais le lire encore une fois très bientôt. I absolutely recommend you this book if you are craving for something original and refreshing. This book is like nothing you will ever read. Be prepared for the unexpected!
5 STARS!!!
I needed to take a moment after finishing this book to process what I’d just read and how I felt. This book is THAT good! The unique story line and creativity that went into it, is unlike any other YA read I’ve come across! It was so well written and emotionally captivating. I never wanted it to end. But when it did… WOW!!! There were no words for the last chapter!
364 days a year spent in a random seventeen year old’s body. Anticipating March 29th, when the clock would strike midnight and suddenly they’d find themselves in a new body and a new dire situation. Over and over this pattern repeated, until they woke up as Ophelia Lori Garcia, born 29th of March 2001.
Effy’s character was heartbreaking yet so strong. I absolutely loved the relationship she had with Michael. It’s rare in a book, to see a parent/child bond like the one they had. And Ayden, what a transition his character took on and it made me love him that much more as the story transpired! Initially I was pulling for a HEA, but as the story progressed I became more accepting of the fact that it just might end in tragedy. What a rush!
I will be recommending this read to anyone who will listen. Thank you to the author for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
