Heal him so you can steal him.Kaylee:Before I begin, I need to be clear about one thing: Kyle was mine first. My best friend since fourth grade. My shoulder to cry on. My everything. And then during our senior year of high school, Ava waltzed into the picture and won his heart.Kyle:I asked Ava to marry me. (Spoiler—she said no.)How do you move on after five years? If it weren’t for Kaylee, I … move on after five years? If it weren’t for Kaylee, I don’t know what I’d do. I know she was only trying to cheer me up when she concocted the idea of the list, but why not give it a try? Ava has certainly moved on.
Kaylee:
I’ve never seen Kyle so destroyed. The list was supposed to be a joke, something to make him smile. Then I realized what it really is—an opportunity. By the time I’m finished with him, Kyle will be over Ava, and he’ll be head-over-heels for yours truly.
Kyle:
I trust Kaylee, and if she thinks the list will help, then I’m all in. She’s not like other girls—she doesn’t plot and scheme, or have ulterior motives. What you see is what you get. A guy couldn’t ask for a better best friend…

My heart is EXPLODING (but in a good way 🙂 I just neglected all of my adult responsibilities for a few hours to binge-read this and it was SO worth it! Such a cute story, but what I truly love about this story is that she didn’t just sacrifice everything for the man of her dreams then when she nabbed him, it was over. No, she made sure that he respected her needs and was willing to fight for her. That’s a good relationship – when both partners are giving and receiving!
I’m on chapter four… Is it too early to say that I’m in love yet?? Oh my gosh, THIS BOOK!!!
Chapter 19 and I want to punch him in the head…
Chapter 26… okay, I like him again.
Chapter 30… grrr… HER AGAIN?!
Chapter 32… Nooooooo!
Chapter 35: lol
Chapter 36: awwwww!
Epilogue: I want to read it again!!
Curious? Read the book! It’s fabulous! I enthusiastically recommend it!
My sisters and I always laugh because with a lot of romance series there’s a book about a girl, her friends, her sisters, and sometimes authors will just throw in a random side character who you met once! This is basically what 27 Ways to Mend His Broken Heart by Shari L. Tapscott is, but I unashamedly loved it :). The first book in the 27 Ways series is about Addison and Carter. In their book, Addison’s dad is trying to set her up with a doctor named Heath who is Kaylee’s brother. I know I was super confused when I first read the description for this, but they actually all live in the same town. So there are some cameos from Isaac and Carter!
This was such a cute book! I was rereading again, and it was just as good as the first time. I loved reading Kaylee’s thoughts. They were so funny and relatable, and I adored watching her to figure out how to tell Kyle how she felt. It was definitely a long road for them though, but it was sweet to watch Heath and Savannah, her roommate, help her. And Heath and Savannah both need a book too! I’m not totally sure whether they would end up together or not, but they both need a book 😉
Kyle was also a sweetheart even if he was a bit dense at times. He was completely in love with Kaylee, but he couldn’t see it! I have to say though I was able to enjoy the book without getting too mad at him. Sometimes I can’t even enjoy the book, but I still loved this one! Kaylee and Kyle’s banter was adorable to me too. I liked how they were friends first, so they already had that stability and comfortableness with each other.
I loved this book! It is full of witty banter, hilarious scenes, and an adorable romance. I finished it basically in one sitting because it was that good, and I loved the twists in it. There was just enough to keep me interested without it becoming too stressful. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a clean, lighthearted rom com!
This book made me smile and I kept smiling almost all the way through. Kaylee and Kyle’s friendship-turned-romance made me sigh with giddy pleasure. This book is well thought-out and funny. I received this as an ARC. This is my honest review.
Very sweet! The main characters were fine, I really cannot understand how Kylee was in love all that time and he never noticed but well….that is the book’s plot, I liked that Kyle was the perfect gentleman. The book did not have sex scenes which was fine for me, at the end I kept me wondering a bit how they continue with their lives, I would have prefer a better Epilogue, but I hope to continue with their lives in the following book of the series (which I WILL READ!). To sum up, the book was sweet, page turning, that kept me entertained until the end. I recommend this book.
I really enjoyed this story. These books have the power to suck me in and keep my attention. I don’t know what it is about them! They are just written like I like. They have good movement and lots of interaction. The first book was so good and there are similarities in this but different enough that I loved it. The kisses were well done and came at just the right time. This is chaste with no religion.
I liked Kaylee and Kyle as main characters, but after book #1 – which I adored – the story fell a bit short for me. I can’t really put my finger on it,but I felt Kyle was being a bit wishy-washy. A number of characters we met in the first book had some fun cameos, and I definitely want to (and will 🙂 ) read more books in the series.
This delightfully charming story reads like a romantic comedy and I could vividly picture every single page as though they were on the big screen in my imagination, and I was completely and fantastically hooked.
Kyle and Kaylee are best friends and she will do anything to help him move past heartache and right into her willing and waiting arms–and all through a list on a napkin. Let’s just say that the road to true love can be paved with rocky bumps that mimic a torturous mountain bike trail in Sedona, Arizona, but the end result is oh-so-worth-it.
These characters are easy to invest in and relate to, which caused me to devour this book as fast as a warm chocolate chip cookie (my favorite). The twists and turns, along with the steamy clean tension, allowed for a perfectly satisfying read and let me just say that I am eagerly awaiting more!
Content: mild+ romance
What an enjoyable read. Breezy narrative, witty dialogue, plenty of chemistry. I’ll definitely read more from this author.
Love the description of ‘steamy clean’ because it’s so true! The characters are likable, normal and nice. I also enjoyed book 3, Isaac’s story. Please, oh please, write a story for Heath and Savannah. Maybe Gio too?
You guys! Can someone please tell me why in the world I waited so long to read this book?! Please?! Anyone?!
*dreamy sigh*
I loved this book! Once I started it, I had the hardest time putting it down! Does that sound familiar? It should because the same thing happened when I read 27 Ways to Find a Boyfriend. I found myself sneaking in reading whenever I could. I may or may not have been reading while walking mail to the mailbox at work today. Okay… who I am kidding?! I totally did that! And I regret nothing! 😉 Hehe.
But I digress…
Kaylee and Kyle were perfect for each other! I absolutely adored them! I’m a sucker for best friends to lovers trope and this one did not disappoint! I still wanted to Gibbs slap Kyle several times throughout the book though. That man drove me crazy! Haha. But once he finally opened his eyes and figured out what he wanted… watch out! *swoon* Their chemistry was off the charts! I could not get enough of Kaylee and Kyle!
Just like in the first book, I really enjoyed the side characters. Isaac was a great addition and I’m looking forward to reading his book next. I’m secretly hoping that Heath and Savannah get a book. There’s definitely a story there. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and putting it out in the universe. It could happen, right?! 😉
Ms. Tapscott is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I seriously need to read more of her books! I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next!
Absolutely delightful, fresh play on a classic trope!
Initially this starts out like the standard friends-to-lovers trope – with one pining and the other clueless – so you think you know what you’re going to read.
Then the author throws in an unexpected twist which most of us have probably wished something like it would happen, but then she throws in another twist & things get more complicated & then more complicated again.
I kept thinking I had figured out what was going to happen next, but it rarely followed the direction I was anticipating. Turns out almost the only predictable things in the plot are the beginning & the end.
It was a story that I wasn’t expecting, but even better than I was expecting, with all the fun & swoony happiness that Shari Tapscott does so very well!
*Clean romance level: passionate kisses
