Tell me what you want, what you really, really want
—>>> Jessie goes through a further bit of turmoil with Silas, but they manage to work it out. Jessie includes many of those who surround her into her heart, it is just how she is. We finally see some character development from Silas – what I have been waiting for – because before now, he was just not as committed and thought had held Jessie off with one hand while controlling her with the other. In this book, we see that he is now willing to give of himself, to support her, to love her, despite his own fears. Jessie makes important decisions, from decor to tackling the life-changing surrogate mom request for Devin and Corey.
Meanwhile, Jessie realizes she cannot live without Silas or Ruby, but she cannot allow herself to entertain or fan the attraction she feels for Salinger. She manages to avoid this coworker who has been at the center of her latest emotional challenge with Silas, but it is inevitable they come face to face and more.
Along with her opening her wings a bit during her time alone without her roommate or Silas in her life to weigh in, Jessie realizes she does not want to lose Silas. The heat between them becomes more erotic and demonstrative as they put aside their fears for each other more wholly and embrace the promise of what they can have. However, I have a feeling there is a lot waiting to be revealed, as not all was dealt with in this story, and I cannot wait to delve into their world again!
This book picks up right where book 2 ends. The characters are now more fully developed, and we know about them all better now. We start seeing a softer side to Silas than just his daughter. His pain shows when he cries. A cliffhanger leaves readers reaching for the next book!
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.
Our couple has come a long way, but there is still a struggle with trust. Can they get over it and move forward?
This is book three in the series and I highly recommend they be read in order. While it is possible to jump in at any point, the story makes a lot more sense if read in order.
Part of the reason for that is that I feel the story and the characters have developed quite a bit from the start. There are still issues to be resolved and the reader still gets several twists and turns, but they only serve to give the story more depth. I found myself getting more engaged as we proceed, which is a good thing. Overall, I enjoyed the story and I am looking forward to the next book.
Highly recommended.
Steam, emotions and great characters
1700 Grant St (Book 3 of the Jessie Hayes series) by KC Decker is an exceptionally well written book from Jessie’s point of view. This romance is full of emotional depth, chemistry that ignites the flying sparks, beautiful descriptions throughout, and characters that will stay with you long after reading the final word. With Jessie at the hub, all of the characters are important and intricately woven into the story.
I really enjoy the plot and setting of this book, in addition to everything else already mentioned.
The series is awesome, and this reader is thrilled to see a Book 4 is also available.
Overall, Jessie and Silas, their steamy, sexy adventures and ever evolving, growing and deepening relationship held me captive and enthralled.
I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
Will Jessie win Silas back?
This is my 3rd book by the author and I love the continuing story of Jessie and Silas. Jessie and Silas work on their issues in this book but Salinger still manages to creep into Jessie’s life. How will it all end? You have to read to find out and will want the next book in the series when you finish!
KC Decker, 700 Grant Street. (Jessie Hayes, book 3).
As an ARC reader I received this book for free. And promised an honest review. Here it is. English isn’t my first language. Sorry for errors.
Rating: 4,5 stars (of 5).
In general: Choosing between two gorgeous men.
Main characters:
– Jessie Hayes.
She works for an oil and gas company negotiating mineral rights. In book 1 and 2 (1462 S. Broadway and 720 Linden Street) she’s introduced in the BDSM scene by her lover Silas.
– Devin and Corey.
A gay couple. Protective housemates and best friends of Jessie. Devin is a wealthy, talented designer and Corey an ex soldier (explosive expert). The couple ask Jessie to become the surrogate mother of their child.
– Silas.
Realtor and owner of an exclusive BDSM club: 1462 South Broadway. Has a lovely daughter, Ruby, abandoned by her mother after a short love affair with Silas.
– Salinger.
Good looking colleague of Jessie and trusted friend. Divorced ex soldier. Has a crush on Jessie. She’s not uninterested and wants to keep his friendship.
Book 2 of the Jessie Hayes series ended with a cliffhanger: an envelope with compromising photo’s of Jessie and Salinger, hugging and kissing. The envelope was delivered to Silas and causes a break up between Silas and Jessie.
Jessie is devastated: She wants Silas (and his daughter Ruby) but was also interested in Salinger and now realises that she has to make a clear choice: deepen the relationship with Salinger (who adores her) or fight to get Silas back.
KC Decker describes with much feeling the development in Jessie’s love life with all it’s complicatons: the compromising photo’s; being a surrogate mother; an intense body painting show in the BDSM club; buying and redecorating her own house while getting back to Silas and not hurting Salinger. It results in a very entertaining book, a page turner and a pleasure to read. So I’m looking forward to the sequence in this series: 945 Cedar Avenue, a book about Salinger’s reaction to Jessie’s choice.

Another awesome book to the series. I love the storyline and all its different facets. There is so much going on. I can’t put the book down. I really like Solar but something us drawing me to Salinger too. Maybe Jessie needs 2 men, not just 1. I can’t wait to see whag happens next. The books are well written too.
OMG!!! Things are heating up in Jessie’s and Silas’s world. I just loved this book. For the most part, I smiled while reading it. It was so enjoyable, different and entertaining. Silas and Jessie have relationship problems and they are very realistic. It is easy to identify with the emotions Silas and Jessie have and Jessie and Salinger have and Jessie, Devin and Corey have. Jessie is slowly but surely getting use to exhibitionism and Silas loves it. Jessie is still dealing with the emotional aftermath of her sexual assault. That is interfering with her and Silas’s intimacy with each other. Devin and Corey are on their honeymoon in Europe and Jessie is alone and it gives her time to reflect. She concludes she has always had someone around her that she depends on. She realizes she needs people in her life and feels that if she had to go it alone she would have an extremely difficult time of it. Then there are the trust issues between Jessie and Silas. This time around Silas receives compromising pictures of Jessie and Salinger and breaks up with Jessie. He thinks she has been unfaithful. But he does not give her the chance to explain. Jessie goes into a deep funk for a few days. When Silas does come around they both recognize the fact that they have to be open, honest and truthful with each other. Also, they have to believe in each other that they would never intentionally hurt the other. A new development, Jessie goes to a party at Silas’s club. She gets the courage up to have her body painted and then strut her stuff down the runway. Silas is so turned on. Jessie is mortified that Salinger is there. However, in the mist of open intercourse with Silas, Jessie and Salinger are staring at each other. Jessie is imagining what it would be like to have a threesome. Now Jessie has to start seriously thinking of having Devin’s and Corey’s baby. It seems to me that she is a little reluctant and is looking to Silas for emotional support. This is an excellent read and I highly recommend it. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
At the end of book 2, Silas is pissed at Jessie for stringing Salinger along and not being whole heartedly, bodily and soulfully attached to himself. And rightly so! KC Decker alludes to this dilemma in one of Jessie’s self-absorbed pity parties about the need to let go of the one you’re flirting with to be all-in with the one you’re with. It’s a great sentiment that Jessie never delves into the rest of the book and even exacerbates later in the book.
This girl is all over the place. I’m not really sure SHE even knows what she wants. Sometimes she’s annoying, like a good friend who won’t stop talking about her own troubles long enough to listen to your little lost girl sob story. But you love her anyway. There’s just something catching about her.
That’s why I kept reading, and why you should, too. In spite of Jessie’s ditzy moments, you just want her to get her man, her family and the dreams she hasn’t yet thought about. So I’m moving along down the street to 945, and I hope you’ll come along, too.
The story is so good Silas and Jessie’s story gets better each book. With twist and turns as well as ups and downs their love grows stronger. Going through the club you feel like you are part of the party.
Characters are fairly entertaining and there are some titillating descriptions of BDSM club. Yet story is fairly sweet and at times prudish. It does seem little disjointed at times so hard to focus.
Voluntary and honest review after receiving a review copy.
This is not my favorite book of the series. I have to agree with some of the other reviewers. Jessie is a terrible tease towards Salinger and Silas reacts strangely to different situations. This whole book felt like a simple attempt by the author to make a few bucks without a ton of effort. I really expected more and hope to have that when I read book 4.
I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy from Hidden Gems
I really like 1700 Grant Street. I really HATE cliffhanger endings. I can’t give this book a bad review, because the writing is sharp and vivid, the characters are complex and flawed but totally sympathetic, the dilemmas they face are realistically and rivetingly described, but…. I REALLY HATE CLIFFHANGER ENDINGS. My personal preference is that authors warn their readers up front. That way we who love a good story and hate interruptions can wait till the whole box set comes out and enjoy a wonderful binge read. That’s my recommendation here. My thanks to Hidden Gems Books for the ARC.
