As a forty-one-year-old mother of three boys, working two jobs, Marya Berger doesn’t have the time or energy to consider a relationship. Especially after a lifetime of poor choices in the romance department. But when the disappearance of a young boy strikes a little too close to home, and a younger man she’s tried to ignore offers his help, she doesn’t stand in the way.Single father, Dylan … Dylan Barnes, the junior member of the La Plata County FBI team at thirty-three, has his focus firmly on his job and his son, Max. He’s certainly not looking to complicate his life, when he finds himself at his son’s soccer game, sitting beside the spirited brunette he can’t get out of his mind. Fate, however, appears to have different plans.
When an unspeakable crime draws the attention of the FBI, Dylan finds himself torn between his job and his instinctive need to protect Marya and her boys.

Yay we finally get Dylan’s story!!!! Let me tell you this one was so worth the wait!!! I loved everything about this story. Marya’s life is busy….she has 3 boys she is raising alone that keep her on her toes, working 2 jobs to keep the family afloat she has no time for any complications especially Dylan Barnes. Dylan has crawled from the bottom and worked hard at bettering not only himself but for his young son. There is a spark that keeps drawing him to Marya but nothing ever came from it. When the opportunity presented itself for the two of them to get to know each other outside of their circle of friends….Dylan took the chance and really liked what he saw. Marya can’t believe that Dylan wants her and is interested in something more than friendship. She is scared to open herself up to the opportunity for the possibility of anything more with Dylan. When a case hits too close to home….Dylan goes into protective mode and immediately includes Marya and the boys in this. Can they find out who is doing these unspeakable things before its too late.
This story was amazing….I was on the edge of my seat and was hooked from beginning to end. Another phenomenal story that I would recommend to all. I can’t wait to read the next book by this talented author. Well done!!!!
I loved this story, even though it deals with the horrible subject of child sexual abuse, it is something we need to be aware of and educate are kids about to protect them. This book gives ideas that can help a parent with their kids and kids to help themselves.
Being a single parent is hard and to bring a new person into the lives of all, well not easy.
The characters are great a real mom and grandparents, kid are always real but can be hard to portray, done well here.
Be prepared to feel a lot with this story, sadness, fear, hope, disgust, happinest and have the tissues near.
This is a book I will reread and tell my friends to read.

I loved this book so much, I’m not even sure where to start. For me 10-CODE is a bit of a homecoming. Dylan was first introduced in one of my favorite Freya Barker books, Upper Hand. He was a struggling young, single father of a toddler whose mother decided family life wasn’t for her. He got tangled up with the wrong crowd but through love of his mother and her new man, Clint, found his way into being recruited by the FBI.
Ten years later, he is working in the Durango FBI field office, laser focused on his son and his job, that is until he keeps bumping into Marya. She struggles with the attraction because of their age difference, but much like his father figure, he goes after what he wants. He shows himself an excellent father to his son, Max, and willing brings Marya’s three boys into their life as naturally as if he was their father. When a case strikes too close to home, involving soccer and gaming friends of the boys, all hell breaks loose.
In typical Freya Barker style, there are many layers to her story. Dylan has a past, one he isn’t particularly happy to see rear its ugly head. And Marya’s ex-husband is a piece of work, more so than he showed in a previous book. Ms Barker showcases the difficulty of family life for single parents, the importance of support of friends and family, and the steamy attraction between Dylan and Marya. The intrigue she weaves throughout is brilliant and when the culprit is revealed, it is truly a shocker. This book flows seamlessly through the detours to the eventual resolution of the case and the relationship.
To me this book comes full circle for Dylan. From his beginnings in the Cedar Tree series to the “least senior” and often overlooked member of the Durango FBI office, to the man whose heart is not only large enough to hold his son but also Marya and her three sons. He has come into his own as not only a man but also as an FBI agent. Another plus for me was getting so catch up with one of my favorite couples: Beth and Clint. I love this book and look forward to the next project Ms. Barker puts forth.
Mayra is a single mom to 3 boys working as a bookstore manager and second jobs to help make ends meet. Her husband left 5 years ago.
Dylan is a single dad and FBI agent. There are little boys getting kidnapped and now Dylan’s ex-girlfriend is a new FBI agent and assigned to his team. There is still bad blood there.
Mayra’s ex Jeremy is back all of a sudden and it’s not for good reasons. Dylan and Mayra want to explore their relationship but things keep getting in the way. How can these two find time for each other? Raise 4 boys? Find kidnappers? Get rid of loser exes? All while trying to find their HEA? Where there is a will there is a way or a very determined alpha FBI agent.
Dylan has been one of Ms. Barker’s secondary characters that I have been wishing for a book of his own for a long time. We have seen him hit rock bottom and slowly find his place and work towards being a great father and fine FBI Agent. As much as he knows he has succeeded in bettering himself and loves his son, he recognizes that something is missing in their life. The relationship that he has with his son Max is wonderful to watch, it give us an idea of the softer, gentle side of Dylan we don’t always see when looking at the FBI agent. He has noticed Marya from afar over the past years as they have mutual friends but never really had to opportunity to get to know her better. When he gets the chance he charges forward happily.
Marya has her hands full to the brim raising three rambunctious boys between 8-13 alone and working two jobs. When her ex walked out on her 5 years ago she had no choice, but knowing they were better off without him, made the up hill battle that much easier. Thankful for her mom who has been there helping along the way. Sure she has tried to step out in the relationship search a time or two since but crashing with a big bang. So living her life to the fullest with her boys has been her main focus. When the younger hot FBI agent starts to show her some interest her insecurities start to get the better of her. Will Marya be able to open herself up and step past the concerns in hopes for something more?
Carefully plotted suspense that is all to close to home puts everyone on high alert. Thus putting Dylan into protect mode, and he is determined to include Marya and her boys under his care. Each piece of the investigation causing a little more aversion to their day to day life. Causing extra care when doing day to day activities everyone including the boys are feeling the kickback of the situation.
A well rounded Romantic Suspense story that will engulf you until you get to the end, and are wishing for just a little more because you aren’t ready for it to be over yet. Instead of two main characters to fall in love with, Ms. Barker brings us six that will hold your heart. Each boy sneaking in your heart with a different attribute and making it full of smiles.

Marya is a divorced mother of three boys working two jobs to make ends meet and not looking for a relationship. Dylan is a single dad to one son who also is a FBI agent and also too busy for a relationship. They meet through mutual friends and her middle son and his son play soccer on the same team. He is eight years younger than her but he knows what he wants if she would just give him a chance. Things start going good until her ex that abandoned her and the boys five years ago shows up wanting to see the boys and then boys from the soccer league start to disappear and as it turns out has a direct link to both Marya and Dylan. Complications along with drama and suspense happen all the while they are trying to develop a relationship. This book as so much to offer and a real look into the life of a struggling mother but when it all comes together it could not be better. Just get this book!

Romantic suspence is done so well by Freya Barker. I love this town and the people who are finding their happily ever after in it. Dylan Barnes is the next in line. Being a single father isn’t easy for the FBI agent but with the help of his mother, he makes it work. Marya Berger is a single mom of three boys who is hanging on but is succeeding as well. They both know each other since she manages the coffee shop/bookstore that Dylan stops into for coffee. He doesn’t just go for the coffee. He goes to see her. She is determined not to have any men in her life though so she admires him from behind a ten foot wall. He finds a way under it.
I adored this couple. Separately they are strong parents, stubborn in what they want for their kids and kind people. Together they are a force. They support each other without stipulations. Their kids get the best of both of them. When things go beyond their control, they have given the kids tools to help themselves.
The suspence part of this book was riveting. I didn’t suspect whom it might be until right before the reveal. The story had me guessing and thinking I knew. Great twists to make me read just one more chapter.
Enjoyed despite the start being very slow, and really very disconnected, so took me a while to get into and start to understand what was going on, and what the various relationships were. Having said that I stuck with it and it did improve towards the middle of the book. My overall impression was there was very little action in the book, when action did happen, I was rather “ah ok, some action” but then questioned it’s connection to the storyline. It wasn’t until fairly late on in the book that the light began to dawn on how all these seemingly individual events all fitted together, at which point it became a page turner and well worth the wait.
Single mom of three boys meets single FBI agent Dylan Barnes at their son’s soccer game. They hit it off almost immediately. As time moves on they get closer. Marya’s ex shows up to wreck havoc on the two as does a former lover of Dylan’s. Then everything changes when an FBI case hits to close to home. This is a fast paced, thriller. It is hard to put down. !!

If you like romantic suspense stories then you must read 10-Code! It is the perfect combination of fantastic characters, a great storyline and enough intrigue to keep the pages turning!
Freya Barker did a great job of keeping the reader on the edge of their seat and the characters on their toes while they work on solving the mystery of what was happening to all of these young boys being taken.
Dylan has had his eye on Marya for a while but when the time is right he makes his move. She is a bit reluctant and doesn’t understand why the hot, sexy younger Dylan would be interested in her. It just takes a little time for Dylan to break down her walls and show her that age doesn’t matter. The bonus is that they have boys all about the same age and they get along pretty well. When they realize that Marya’s middle son, Liam is being targeted by a predator, Dylan and all of his law enforcement co-workers step up to find who is taking these boys. Now, everyone needs to be vigilant until they figure what is happening and why.
10-Code is another Freya Barker masterpiece. I don’t know how she does it. EVERY. TIME. With EVERY book. She delivers realistic characters dealing with everyday issues…..suspenseful storylines…..heart wrenching tragedy broken up with laugh out loud humor. It’s some of the best Contemporary Romantic Suspense out now.
Dylan and Marya are both both single parents. Marya has 3 boys (13,11 & 8) and Dylan has an 11 year old son. They both have been hurt by their previous spouses abandonment and are cautious when it comes to introducing their young children to someone new. But when they open their hearts to each other AND the children the love spills over.
10-Code had me absolutely riveted. I stayed up waaaaaay to late reading and up early the next morning to finish. I can not recommend this book (and series) enough. LOVE LOVED LOVED IT.
My new favorite by Freya Barker! Love this book so much. The storyline was amazing, So suspenseful and love Dylan and Marya so much. I confess, I’m not a fan of younger Hero, older heroine, but loved this one so much. They were perfect for each other.
I couldn’t put the book down. Read it in one sitting.
STARS!!
Dylan and Marya have so much in common. They were both abandoned by their ex’s and left to raise kids. He’s working a case that hits close to home with them both having young kids and to make matters worse her ex resurfaces trying to get back into her life. There is a lot of drama going in this story Dylan is younger than Marya but the chemistry between the two is intense. Will their combined drama be enough the keep the spark in their budding relationship?

Another excellent read filled with heat, humor, moments of nail-biting suspense, and the roller coaster that is parenting when it comes to 4 rambunctious boys between the ages of 8 and 13!
Marya has had good reason to swear off men between her no-good ex-husband’s infidelity and her track record with a few dates over the past few years. When sexy younger man and FBI agent Dylan Barnes trips her hot guy radar and seems too good to be true, she goes into her default mode of looking for excuses to avoid him and finding any fault to focus on- starting with the 8 year age difference between them.
33 yr old Dylan is a single father to precocious Max, but he is lucky to have a wonderful support system in his mother Beth and stepfather Clint particularly when it comes to the unpredictable nature of his job. Marya caught his eye quite some time ago, but after getting to know her a little better while watching their boys play soccer he decides it’s time to step up his game but knows he has his work cut out for him.
Dylan was a perfect mix of kind, funny and assertive- combine that with being a great dad to Max and I fell hard for him! Marya’s defenses don’t stand a chance especially when her mom and best friend get involved. The harsh realities of the world we live in intrude in the form of the latest case the FBI team is working on though, and as the details of the case emerge it hits a little too close to home for Dylan, Marya and their boys.
10-Code was another read-in-one-sitting book for me as I laughed, gasped, smiled, fanned myself and frantically flipped the pages from start to finish. The age difference between Dylan and Marya was a non-issue, the main characters had easy chemistry, and the boys were amazing secondary characters adding an extra layer of depth and poignancy to story.
4.5 Stars
I love a single parent romance, and the Rock Point series has grabbed my attention from the very first book. Marya and Dylan’s have both appeared in the previous titles in the series, and I was eager to read their story which is intense, and full of intrigue and suspense.
Dylan is a FBI agent, but he’s also protective, kind, caring, compassionate and a loving father.
Marya is a mature heroine who is independent, loving, strong and resilient.
Overall a completely engaging and entertaining title and I loved that Jasper, Luna and Damien all had strong roles within this title.
As a reviewer and a reader of many books its often a privilege to read Authors Arcs. And i have to say i cant give enough praise to this Author, she has once again written a book that is thoughly engaging and as flip page after page it really gets more exciting and mysterious. I also have to praise Freya Barker and her researches , they have really done a thorough job. The story line is something not many people write about and honestly im blown away with praise for a job so well done.
Marya is a 41 year old, with three children, she works two jobs and dosnt have much time for any men. But then she has seen Dylan Barnes around a couple of times. She meets up with Dylan when he brings his son to play scoccer, as her middle son also plays for the same team. Slowly he weans his way into her life, but danger is lurking around the corner and they have to find out, from where it is coming from, her ex or somewhere else. Dylan is with the Fbi and soon has to protect the boys before something drastic happens.
A must read, and i really have to reccommend this book whole heartly 5+ stars
Freya Barker, how do you keep coming up with these amazing stories?! This story, 10-Code has made its way to the top of my favorites from you. Marya and Dylan have such an amazing chemistry that really comes to life in this story. Both are single parents doing the best they can to raise their children. Both have been burned in the past and never considered pursuing another relationship. But when boy goes missing, the two lean on each other to help look after each others kids. The horrific disappearance of the boy has frightening similarities to both Marya and Dylan’s boys, the need to protect comes at Dylan. Using his FBI background, Dylan is determined to not let this happen to either of the boys, and at the same time starts to fall for Marya.
This story was beyond incredible. The single parent trope is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Finding love after heartbreak is well defined in this story. It also touches on the subject of online gaming and who you really are playing with. In a time where so many kids have access to technology, teaching them to be safe and well as reminding parents to keep a watchful eye on what they are playing is well represented in this story. The subject matter can be disturbing but needs to be a reminder to all. Thank you Freya Barker for this astounding story. As you know, I will always read what you write.
I couldn’t get enough. I loved this book. Marya and Dylan are great together. You have marya who has 3 boys and is trying to give them everything they need on her own. She has some help from her mother but she isn’t looking for a man in her life at this time. Dylan is a single father with one son and is an FBI agent. He has his mom and step dad to help him but when he starts to get to know Marya during soccer games he wants to have more time with her. While they are starting out some obstacles are thrown in the way such as her ex husband and Dylan has a case involving child kidnapping and murder. Great writing and suspense. Lots of romance and steam. Loved it and this authors writing.

10-Code is the fourth book in the Rock Point Series. It can be read as a standalone, however I’m liking the characters and stories so much, I suggest you start reading this exciting series at the beginning. Single dad and FBI Agent Dylan Barnes is a protector, and overall a sweet guy. Marya is a single mom doing everything on her own for her three boys. She’s fierce and independent. Romance is the last thing these two have time for, but when trouble comes knocking, it throws them together. Marya and Dylan were great, and the kids only added to their story. I liked seeing past characters too. This is a great romantic suspenseful story.
This book deals sensitively with the nightmare subject of child abuse, and that, together with an outstanding story and good characters, elevates it to five stars. The story follows two single parents, Marya, single mother of 3 boys, and Dylan, an FBI agent and single father to a son. Liam, one of Marya’s sons, is on the same soccer team as Max, Dylan’s son, and they are both Fortnite gamers. The unwelcome sudden return of Marya’s ex husband coincides with a rash of child abductions, and the story proceeds from there. While this is not the first in the series, it can be read as a standalone, and, although an intense read, I found I had to read it in a single sitting. Internet safety, blended/blending families, and the terror of child abductions are all depicted sensitively and written with understanding.
