As a forty-one-year-old mother of three boys, working two jobs, Marya Berger doesn’t have the time or energy to consider a relationship. Especially after a lifetime of poor choices in the romance department. But when the disappearance of a young boy strikes a little too close to home, and a younger man she’s tried to ignore offers his help, she doesn’t stand in the way.Single father, Dylan … Dylan Barnes, the junior member of the La Plata County FBI team at thirty-three, has his focus firmly on his job and his son, Max. He’s certainly not looking to complicate his life, when he finds himself at his son’s soccer game, sitting beside the spirited brunette he can’t get out of his mind. Fate, however, appears to have different plans.
When an unspeakable crime draws the attention of the FBI, Dylan finds himself torn between his job and his instinctive need to protect Marya and her boys.

Freya Barker writes stories about every day people (and they are my age!) facing challenges and finding love in a hectic world. This story was no exception. Dylan was funny, kind and protective of his son. I’m a sucker for Great DAD stories! When he meets the older Marya who’s had more than her share of lousy men in her life, the chemistry is combustible! Don’t miss this great read if you love older women/younger men and single dad stories! As a matter of fact, read the entire series, you won’t regret it!
This is the 3rd book I’ve read written by Freya Barker; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

Freya Barker has fast become a go to author for me I first read her On Call books and am now working my way through her other series and I have to say I haven’t found a book I haven’t loved yet.
This is Marya and Dylans story To say that Marya is gun shy is an understatement not only has she dealt with a scum bag ex but she is also trying to work and care for three sons aged 9,11 and 13 Dylan is a FBI agent who is the single father to a 11 year old son They meet through their sons soccer H may be younger than her but he is still very interested Can he get her to give him a chance Will they form a family together. Will he be able to keep her safe when danger stalks For all these answers you better get reading.
This series just gets better each time, you can not help but connect with Marya a single mum who to be honest is a disorganised mess trying to raise 3 boys and she does a damn fine job of it which is why she keeps Dylan’s advances at bay as she doesn’t need any more guys in her life to cause more stress. Dylan is doing his best to balance a son, high demanding job and an attraction to Marya who he can’t quiet work out. I just loved this book as no one is a super model, everyone is flawed and there is some great twists, surprises, times where you worry things won’t work out as well as the hope that the bad guy gets his and Mayra sees how deliciously perfect Dylan is for her

I enjoyed this new “Rock Point” suspenseful romance. It’s definitely an edge of your seat story that completely sucks you in. I love the characters, humor, dialogue, romance and everything else about this story. Marya and Dylan are great characters. This whole series rocks and this one is no exception.
One of my favorites! This story about Marya and Dylan was fantastic!!! Great romantic suspense that I could not put down!

Favorite Quotes:
I don’t have a thing for older women… I have a thing for you. You happen to be older, that’s all.
Okay, you need to stop being perfect. My heart can’t handle it.
My Review:
I have stated this numerous times but it is worth repeating, I adore Freya Baker. I’m sad to see this series come to an end as I enjoyed these admirable, hard-working, and uniquely compelling men and women of La Plata County. The intriguing books of this series were all standalone yet seamlessly interconnected. Each was tautly written with topical issues, realistic suspense, and real-world concerns while cast with relatable yet imperfect characters who were doing their best to survive and rise above their untenable situations. The storylines were well-constructed, smartly paced, and cleverly nuanced, and although the subject matter may give some pause, the crimes were not graphically depicted although the plotted heinous behavior toward children in 10-Code was distressing to even contemplate, yet unfortunately occurs all too often.
This is my first book by Freya Barker. My favourite genre, too,
Very well written story with terrific characters .
We have a single dad and single mom both trying to protect their boys.
Marya is a very strong woman she is also not afraid to lean on and work with Dylan when she needs to.
A like that H/h are mature, reverse age gap, too.
Very interesting and enjoyable read.

This is gripping story that is full of suspense, intrigue, drama, betrayal, trauma and romance. Dylan is an FBI Agent and a single dad. He’s determined, caring, protective, sweet and fierce. His son Max plays soccer, which is where he met Marya. Marya is strong, independent and vulnerable. She has three kids, Theo, Liam and Harry. Liam and Max play soccer together. Dylan has been interested in Marya for a long while, but she resists because he’s 8 years younger than her. One morning at a soccer game Dylan notices Marya react to someone watching the game, and when she takes off after the man, Dylan follows then grabs her when it looks like she’s ready to take the man’s head off. She tells the man to leave, but he cops an attitude, so Dylan jumps in and threatens to arrest him if he doesn’t leave. When Marya explains who he is, and what happened in the past, Dylan is determined to protect her and her boys. While dealing with her issue, and slowly getting her to accept him, Dylan is assigned a case involving the possible kidnapping of a local boy. One suspect person leads to another and to another until it seems that nobody can be trusted. The twists don’t stop with the missing kid, both Marya’s and Dylan’s pasts come back to cause trouble. I had a little bit of a hard time getting into this, but the more I read, the more got hooked on the story. It’s a brilliant, sweet and tragic story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
I seriously don’t know how she does it every single time. Besides KA, no one writes a great older woman story with substance and an amazing chemistry between the main characters. Freya, in my opinion, knocks this out of the park with every story I have read by her – including this one.
I absolutely loved this one about a single mom to three boys and the FBI agent who is a single father to one boy.
(Have I mention single parent stories are my favorite?!?!)
Oh – and she’s 9 years older then him! But let’s face it, age is just a number. I enjoyed the taboo of the age difference though. It added something a little extra. If you have read the previous stories, this is about Dylan who works in the same office as the people from the previous stories.
I highly recommend this story and this series. Each story can be read on its own.
Loved this story so much!! Single parents, age difference, trauma it’s all there. Freya does an amazing job making relatable characters come to life. Highly recommend this 5 star read!!
This was an absolutely superb book. I could not put it down, even for coffee. I loved every moment of it. Even when it had me biting my nails. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
Gah!! Where do I start!!!! I’m still processing all the feelings from 10-Code.
Okay, first……If you have not read this series……rectify that now!!!! This is Book 4, it can be read as a stand-alone but I highly encouraged you to start at book 1, Keeping 6.
Freya Barker is one of those authors that always brings her “A” game to her books. 10-Code is no exception, she nailed it!!! I was curious about how the title came about and she answered that question…..right in the book!
Marya and her boys won my heart. We were given a little intro to her in a previous book and oh my….this woman deserves her own story and I am so happy Ms. Barker gave it to her! Dylan and his son were perfect! Both have that need to protect (just like Marya’s boys) and they all wanted to protect Marya.
10-Code hit on a deep subject and the way Ms. Barker handled it was utter perfection. She grabbed me immediately from chapter 1…..I started this book at around 5:00pm on Friday night and I finished it at 8:00am Saturday morning…..yes that is the following day (mind you I did fall asleep for about 5 hrs). That to me is a great book and a fine example of an amazing author; when they can suck you in right from the start.
Marya has been through alot in her 41 years and she isn’t willing to try again with any man but definitely not one 8 years her junior. She has 3 boys to take care of and 2 jobs that keep her plenty busy. However Dylan just isn’t willing to take her dismissal lying down and soon the single father with a son of his own will show her he isn’t like the previous men in her life. Everything becomes more complicated though when their pasts rear their ugly heads and make things difficult for the fledgling couple. Between an ex-girlfriend who is trying to weasel her way back in and an ex-husband with ulterior motives who just won’t back down will these two fight to strengthen their bond or let outside forces tear them apart? With all this in the background Dylan is dealing with a case that comes too close to home for both of them and the implications of who all is involved and the despicablness of some is just heart breaking. This book was amazing and a wonderful edition to the series. I absolutely loved it and hates to see it end. I can not wait for the next installment.

Wow, I never realized Dylan was gonna be such a MAN. He just seemed too much like a man-child in the previous books. But Freya showed us his grown up side and it was amazing!
He and Marya knew each other through mutual friends but had never spent a lot of time together. But Dylan always thought there could be more between Marya and him. Now he just needs to convince Marya that just because he’s younger and between them, they’ll have 4, yes 4, growing boys, that they need to explore what it is.
As danger and intrigue enter the picture, Dylan just doesn’t take Marya’s arguments into consideration. He knows they’re meant to be and he’s meant to protect them all. And boy, does he!
Once again Freya takes into the Rock Point community and makes us feel like we’re there, living these stories right alongside the characters. I always walk away from her books, feeling like I’ve met and made friends with my neighbors.
I liked the single parents coming together story. Marya was slightly older than Dylan, and I loved that he just saw Marya and how she was a great mother. Dylan being a devoted dad, despite being a crazy FBI agent was heartwarming. Both parents had great support systems. They had a great connection and steamy chemistry. There was mystery and some heartbreak…that lead to hope and a HEA.
Romantic Suspense is one of my favorite genres. And done well it just makes me giddy. The suspense plot must be gripping, interesting, and satisfying AND at the same time… the romance must be believable and hot with a dash of swoon. Right here, people! I adore this series and have gobbled up each book like the tastiest of chocolates. 10-Code features single mom, Marya. She is definitely no damsel in distress. She works hard to raise her sons, but has left little time to form any romantic relationships. And after her abominable first husband….who needs the aggravation? She’s a strong woman and has no problem depending only on herself. Nothing beats a hot single dad and Dylan sure fits the bill. I so enjoyed his loving relationship with his son. He is attracted to Marya physically and emotionally and when he decides to pursue her……. look out! Marya has some misgivings since there is an age difference, but that is not the focal point here. He quickly gets her to see that they are suited. And they are. The main plot focuses on serious and urgent issues. I thought I had the villain all figured out and then…… BOOM!!! I was waaaaay off base! And I was tickled to be so surprised. If you love a compelling suspense plot and strong romance then this one is for you. Can’t wait to see what’s next for this author!
I have said it before, and I’ll say it again….Freya Barker is one HECK of a writer!!!! Every single book she writes just confirms, once again, that she’s the “bee’s knees” when it comes to the kind of romantic suspense that wraps around your heart and soul! 10-Code is another prime example of WHY she’s one of my top, go-to unicorn authors!
In 10-Code, the last book in the Rock Point Series, Dylan and Marya discover they have something else in common (besides the chemistry that burns brighter than the Northern Lights!), they both have sons playing soccer on the same team. When a boy on another team mysteriously disappears, FBI Agent Dylan and his team are tasked with finding the boy and his kidnapper….and at the same time, Marya’s good-for-nothing-ex suddenly appears out of nowhere and is demanding to see his boys (said ex up and left her 5 years before to raise their 3 boys on her own) This sets off Dylan’s Alpha-protectiveness and the suspense just builds from there!
The gut-wrenching twists and turns in this one had me sitting on the edge of my seat, playing detective to figure out who the bad-guy was (boy, was I WRONG!!!), turning the pages as fast as possible to discover the answers to the mystery! The slow-burning love (but burn-down-the-house chemistry) between Dylan and Marya is phenomenal and satisfies my need for the long-awaited HEA
10-Code is yet another example of Ms.Barker’s incredible talent as a story teller…one that I can’t recommend highly enough! I can’t WAIT to see what comes next from one of my all-time fave authors’!
I really enjoy the suspense filled adventures and romances from Freya Barker. At least one of the villains in this piece is the type that mom described as so awful he must be drawn from real life truths.
Marya is a single mom with 3 boys, one a soccer player- Liam Dylan is an FBI agent, single dad, and has a son , Max. Survivors of those early morning soccer matches, Dylan and Marya connect – not really their first meeting since her friend and boss is married to his boss.
An awful predator is in the area, and he seems to be targeting boys about the same age as their soccer playing sons.
As matters get more twisted, and connections pile up, Marya has more than one dark reminder related to her ex in one way or another. Some truly disturbing connections are revealed in the end.
In the mean time, Dylan, Marya and their boys fall into love, lust, and family. They must fight together with friends and co-workers to hold onto and grow what they have.
An edge of your seat series of turns, twists, and stomach revolting characters.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout. I read it on Kindle Unlimited. I have read or borrowed several books in this series. Great as standalones , awesome as a series!
Dylan and Marya each have a family whose daily activities cause their pathway to come together. Add in missing boys, unsolved cases, and growing romance, and this tale will keep the reader on the edge of her seat to find out what happens next. Part of the Rock point series with this story returning to that world.
