Taking the high road is a whole lot easier with someone to love… Queen Anne is beautiful—or will be, in about a thousand years. Certainly not in time to host the family Christmas gathering.
“Disaster” also describes the bad breakup that left her picket-fence vision in tatters. Even the carpenter she’s hired is a reminder of lost dreams—the high school crush who never spared her a passing glance. But she’s a grownup now, perfectly capable of keeping things professional.
Keiran O’Malley is back in Roses, North Carolina, lugging his own shattered dreams of home and family. Until he’s on his feet and ready to open his own Irish pub, serendipity finds him an attic apartment in Desiree’s fixer upper in exchange for his remodeling skills.
Roses is all polished up for the holidays, but nothing outshines the Cinderella beauty who owns the house. The spin of warmth between them is instantaneous…but their broken hearts may not be strong enough to build happiness on, especially when the past shows up to demand its share.
When two hearts get in a jam, it’ll take more than whiskey cake to sweeten the deal.

I enjoyed this book and have enjoyed the series, some more than others. It’s nice to see Desiree’s story.
I received a free copy from the author and have voluntarily left this review.
I loved the raw honesty of this story. I loved the chemistry. I loved watching these two navigate the world together. This is a story of love, forgiveness, romance, and how secrets have a way of coming out. I loved every second of this sweet, swoon-worthy, small town story. Cheryl May does a fantastic job narrating this book & bringing the characters to life.
I enjoyed this story. Desiree has bought a house that needs a lot of work. She thought she would be fixing it up with her boyfriend, but when he saw the house, he left her. Kieren wants to move back to Roses. He needs a change and working on Desiree’s house is just right for him. He can live in the attic and work on the house. What neither of them counted on was falling in love. The house is going great and love is in the air until an ex shows up in town and starts demanding that Kieren give her half of everything he has. Desiree thought that all was well, but the way this woman was acting, maybe Kieren didn’t really care for her. Kieren knows he can fix this if Desiree just give him a chance. She has had so much loss in her life, she isn’t sure she should give him another chance. Can he change her mind?
1-800-Christmas (Flipping For You #2) was another great read by Josie Riviera. Desiree is an attorney who just bought her first home. Unfortunately for her the victorian Queen Anne home is a disaster that needs a lot of work. To add insult to injury her boyfriend dumped her as she was moving. Keiran moved back to Roses, North Carolina to reopen his Irish pub that his parents left him. His friend finds him an attic apartment in Desiree’s home as long as he helps fix it up. Desiree had a crush on Keiran back in high school and they still have chemistry. I really enjoyed reading Desiree and Keiran’s story and can’t wait to read more by Josie Riviera.
Home at last!
Desiree Cantando is a successful lawyer working to defend low-income families and children. When she bought the aging Victorian home in the small town of Roses she knew it needed some work but had no idea it was so extensive or that her boyfriend would dump her when he saw it. Instead of the family home she has always dreamed of, she will just become an aging spinster. Faced with a daunting renovation she is pleased to find a carpenter who will work within her budget until she discovers it is Keiran O’Malley. He was the high school crush who never knew she existed and now he will be living and working under her roof until the renovations are completed.
Kieran has ended a bad relationship and returned to Roses years after the death of his parents to reopen their pub and realize his lifelong dream. His carpentry skills will now provide him with income and a place to live until he is ready to take the next step. When he finally arrives at the house, he is unprepared when an exquisite, blue-eyed woman slams the door in his face instead of showing him to the attic apartment. This is not what he had envisioned, but he definitely wants to get to know her better.
Desiree and Keiran were likable characters with good backstories. They both deserve a happily-ever-after. Josie Rivera packs a lot into this short romance and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Desiree, a lawyer who helps underprivileged families, just bought a house from her brother-in-law and she was having second thoughts. The task of getting it repaired and ready for Christmas was overwhelming. Her brother-in-law was feeling bad about it so he hired her a carpenter. When the carpenter arrived she is struck by how much he had grown up since high school. He was her high school crush.
This is a clean contemporary, small town romance that pulls at your heart strings. The Christmas are well crafted and engage you in their story, you can not help but want them to be together. I thought the storyline flowed well and the dialogue was great and interesting. I read this novella in one sitting as I found It hard to put down once I started reading it. This is a heartwarming romance that leaves you feeling uplifted.

*Audible Review*
Narrated by Cheryl May
Such a sweet romantic story. I loved Keiran and Desiree’s story. They are both getting over past relationships and not looking for a new one. When they meet there’s a connection between them and sparks fly. A well written story, with likable characters and a beautiful love story.
Cheryl May’s narration was wonderful, and captured each character perfectly.
This sweet story is sure to put you in the holiday mood.
For Desiree Christmas was always a holiday she wanted to forget. Her past left her with little holiday cheer. When she buys a house with far desire problems then she can handle she must hire a carpenter to help with repairs. Little does she know, this carpenter will help repair more then her broke house.
I loved this story and the characters. I immediately felt a connection with desire and wanted her to find her happily ever after. I really enjoyed listening to this narrator and found her to be enjoyable.
I will definately be listening to more books from this author!
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed this book. Fun read. She is fixing up an old house and he is a handyman that inherited an old run down pub. Will they fall in love? Or will other people come between them. Will they fix up the house and will he ever open the pub? Will they be able to discover a wonderful future for themselves and their careers. Worth reading to find out.
1-800-Christmas is a festive sweet and clean romance with several subtle nods to faith in God. The characters are realistic and have doubts, flaws, and past issues that are familiar to many. The narrator did a wonderful job and has a relaxing voice.
A feel-good Christmas romance.
Desiree just wants a home to be hers and to be able to begin to enjoy life. A life, until recently, was simply a matter of survival without room for extras like Christmas or love. So when her new brother-in-law, Teddy, convinces Keiran to come to help with the renovation of her new home she decides to give him a chance. Right from the start, there is a connection between them but she has to learn to trust him if anything is going work for them. Especially when his past comes back to mess with him.
This is the second book in the Flipping For You series and can be read as a standalone.

This is a cute quick Christmas read about two people who due to their pasts aren’t fond of Christmas nor trusting people but things are about to change whether they like it or not. They have both be ditched by their selfish significant others and left Desiree needing someone to help renovate the house she just brought and Keiran needing somewhere to stay and work to do while he decides what to do next. There are a lot of emotions to go through while you read it and I think my only negative is I wish it was longer so some parts could be fleshed out or expanded on more, in saying that I still loved the book.

A short quick story to read that is well written and has a great storyline. Attorney Desiree Contando and Keiran O’Malley meet again after going to high school together he rents the attic in her home and helps her remodel it. There is drama, a really nasty ex, and romance. I enjoyed reading this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
1-800-Christmas
Really enjoyed reading this book. Desiree is looking for a “perfect” HEA to compensate for her childhood. Keiran has returned to Roses and has to decide what he wants to do for his future. Desiree has bought a very neglected Queen Anne house and Keiran is going to help her renovate it as he decides his future path. Both have things in their background that must be faced.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Well written, great characters and a wonderful story! A must add to your TBR list!
(I received this as an ARC for review.)
1-800-Christmas by Josie Riviera was a short and sweet romance. It has all the things you love in a clean romance book- faith, love, healing- with an extra special element of the Christmas season added in! I loved the theme of home remodeling as well! Keira and Desiree both had a lot of hurt from their pasts to get over to be able to love one another. But in the end, their faith in God and feelings for each other brought them together. This was a sweet, clean story and I really enjoyed it!!
Roses, North Carolina is the home of attorney,
Desiree Contando. She has just purchased an
Old Queen Anne home that is a shambles and
needing a lot of restoration but it is her house.
Keiran O’Malley is a former resident of Roses.
He is moving back to Roses after breaking up
with his girlfriend. Kieran has been hired by
Desiree’s brother-in-Law as a carpenter to
help restore the Old Queen Anne home. He has
also been offered the attic as a temporary place
to stay until he gets settled. He has also inherited
his parents former Irish Pub In Roses.
What a surprise is in store for Desiree when she
discovers that she now has a live in carpenter
thanks to her brother-in-law!!!!
There is undeniable chemistry between the couple
but they both need to come to grips with their past
to move into the future.
Talented writing with humor, romance plus a strong
spiritual element woven throughout the story.
The characters are well defined, complex, vivid and
extremely interesting. A well plotted story.
Tremendous job in description makes the reader a
part of the characters experiences. Will the couple
be able to act on their feelings? Will they be able to
find trust, forgiveness, healing and love to overcome
what they face?
This is book # 2 in the Josie Riviera Flipping for Your
series. It can be read as a stand alone.
A Highly Recommended Read!!!!
1-800-CHRISTMAS : A Sweet Holiday Romance ( Flipping For You-Book 2 )
By: Josie Riviera
1-800-CHRISTMAS is book two: A Sweet Holiday Romance in Flipping For You Series. I loved this sweet holiday romance. Ms. Riviera had me hooked right at the start. I did not want to put it down. This is Desiree and Keiran’s story. Get ready for some sweet romance and a fun story. I found myself laughing at these two several times and then there was a time when I was saying, NO don’t do that. Desiree buys an old house ,disaster, that needs a lot of fixing up . A well known carpenter, Keiran, was recommended for the job. Sparks fly the minute these two meet. Both are healing from a broken relationship and not interest in another heart ache. Neither had a happy home life. Will Keiran get the job when Drsiree finds out who he is? Is there second chance for these two or is a heart still in the past?
I was given a complimentary copy of this book , but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Desiree Contando has trouble trusting after dealing with drunken parents and being shuffled from one awful foster care home to another. She grew up thinking football star and popular student Keiran O’Malley had it so easy and despite having a crush on him that he would never want anything to do with her. She never dreamed that he would end up living in the attic apartment in her fixer upper while doing carpentry work on it. Never mind that he’s easy on the eyes and a fantastic cook and they have amazing chemistry together. It still seems too good to be true to her especially when his ex shows up in Roses demanding money. Keiran was afraid to move forward with his relationship with Desiree too after being burned by his ex. They both needed to learn to trust again. I loved reading all the wonderful recipes that Keiran cooked up. I would definitely eat at his pub. This was a sweet holiday romance with plenty of humor and yummy foods.
Christmas can be a really hard time for some people. Desiree and Kieran both struggle with Christmas for different reasons, but once they find each other that changes. I loved the instant chemistry between them, even though it wasn’t an ideal time for either of them to start a new relationship. I loved how quickly they became a part of each other’s lives and their relationship grew. They both had difficult pasts and bad to overcome some things to make a relationship work, but that is part of what Christmas is all about. A nice sweet Christmas story about redemption.
