But she’s also determined, intelligent, and kinda cute… I mean, really cute.
No matter how hard I try, I can’t stop thinking about her.

A sweet, heartwarming new read from Nicole Casey about finding love in the midst of family drama and rivalries and letting it go for everyone else’s benefit. Destiny has a way of bringing about what’s meant to be. Full of family drama, anger, doubt, fear, a secret baby, passion, and a love that never gave up. I absolutely loved this new book.

Terrific enemies to lovers romance that’s wonderfully written. Great characters in the siblings, Mal and Ella, and Blake and Gray, that live in the same neighborhood and go to the same school. Blake is the nerdy girl in high school but she’s also a looker. Mal is the pesky neighbor that turns her world upside down. Lots of family dynamics both good and bad. Satisfying ending.

I’m a little torn on my review of this book. There was so much buildup on why Mal and Blake we’re wrong for each other, the family drama and then the misconceptions they had about each other that I thought there would be more on how they got over all that stuff to be together but there wasn’t. One minute they’re talking to each other and then nothing for six years. All of a sudden the conflict is over, they’re together and the book ends.
Loved, this book!
Excellent contemporary enemies to lovers romance. Malcolm and Blake have lived with animosity between his family & hers. His family is well off compared to hers. Through high school they tried to avoid one another till his sister married her brother. They both ended up at the same college where they hooked up after graduation. The author spread the relationship over at least a decade. Me. Casey made the relationship very realistic as both their families are disfunctional. I received a complementary copy of this book via Booksprout and I chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by this author.
A second chance romance and entertaining read with strong main characters and a multitude of supporting characters.
Good plot, tons of drama, angst, powerful emotions to keep your interest.

This story features Blake and Mal. The story takes place over a span of 10 years. I loved the basis for the story line. I did not love how long it took to get anywhere near and an HEA. It was the last two chapters before anything worth smiling about happened. The last two chapters is not enough to carry the ENTIRE book.
I wish there were more of Blake and Mal in this book and much less of their bickering families. I love these two together and it makes me sad that I have to give their book such a low rating.

Blake and Malcolm’ s siblings end up marrying each other even though the family doesn’t like eachother. This starts off a rocky relationship between Malcolm and Blake. They end up hooking up and that was the end of that or so Malcolm thinks. This has you hooked on it right away it doesn’t take you a while to get into it. I love the dialog between the characters and the story line was great.

A well written story with nice story line and plot. Likeable characters who are well described. Chemistry and passion is missing. An enemies to lovers second chance romance that is very predictable and mostly like others with the theme about secret babies. It has some nice points but I would have liked it to have some difference. The characters could have developed more and have more depth to them. The story could also have had an ending that was not that fast paced and with a bit more connection.
I loved Mal and Blake’s crazy families! This enemies to lovers/second chance story is full of family drama, angst, humor, romance and a great story line. This is an enjoyable, quick read and my first book by this author. I look forward to reading more in the future.
A good story with an underlying feeling of futility and sadness. Great characterizations even though the author made some of them into totally unlikeable people, they had their part to play in this tale. The family dynamics for both the main male and female characters was so toxic it is amazing that both these two had the where-with-all to eek out some semblance of a normal life. Overbearing parents or what? Both moms retained very long umbilical cords on their children. The bantering between the main male and female characters was very amusing at times. The main male character seemed like an intensely passionate man when with the main female character. Through many struggles these two main characters managed to forge a future for themselves, independent from their strident families. Many emotions came through to the reader with this novel, at times poignant and very sad to enervating. Good book.
