A good well written, wonderfully well developed, quick light romance. The characters had great chemistry and were interesting. Riley had no trust in relationships and insecure with men in general from being burned and cheated on in previous very bad relationships. Harrison works with her dad and does not do relationships and has adbandonment issues. Riley’s dad talks them into Harrison and her having a fake dating plan because the press has been harsh and refers to her as a serial dater. Both having their own issues made for this to be an emotional read at times but o so worth the time. I really enjoyed and plan on adding it to my permanent to be read again library. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.
Yet another story about a fake agreement. This one also turns out to be a walk around the hot soup but it is very captivating because of the way the characters are described and how likeable they are. The storyline and plot is great and well written. Over the top chemistry, passion, commitment issues, family issues, a past that has to be handled and twists makes this a read that is worth the one-click.
I received an ARC from Ms. Aurora, and I am writing my honest review. Reilly is a young lady who has had her heart broken so many times that the press calls her a serial dater. Harrison is a young, wealthy man who has been dealing with abandonment issues dating back to when his parents left him. When Harrison and Reilly come to a mutual agreement that they will exclusively date each other for the press and to better their images, will their hearts follow the rules that they have laid out or will they fall for each other and give each other and themselves the opportunity to become vulnerable and fall in love? When Reilly finds out that she’s pregnant, will she tell Harrison that he’s the father or will she cut him out and raise the child on her own? The Real McCoy is beautifully written. The plot kept me entertained and guessing while all of the characters had their own personalities that tied well to each other and the story line. Ms. Aurora draws us in with how an innocent chance encounter can turn in to a life altering decision. I highly enjoyed reading The Real McCoy for those that like romance with some reality thrown in. I was completely enthralled, and I could not put it down once I started. Thank you Ms. Aurora for allowing me to read your book. I look forward to reading more of your work.
I have to tell you this book is amazing. Right from the beginning I fell in love with Harrison and Reilly. They both had their own issues. Neither one wanted to talk about their issues but their chemistry kept bringing them back together. I’m so happy they found a way to be together in the end.
Riley reluctantly attends a charity event but had she not she wouldn’t have met Harrison. This was a great romantic read. Two with past issues that make them closed to the future. Riley’s past relationships have made her fearful and Harrison has family issues. When they start pretend dating but their feelings change it gets complicated. Love will heal their hearts.
I really enjoyed the book. The background of both characters and what they need to overcome to trust one another is compelling. The fact that her parents play a role in getting them together was unexpected but a great twist and the push Riley needed. Riley and Harrison are perfect for one another – they just have to be convinced if that
TIP-TOE AROUND FEELING!!!
Talk about being a runner. This is one interesting read that deals with some heavy emotions. You get caught up in all the suspense, fear, drama, deceit, anger and most of all heart break. Its a wild ride but one worth taking. The characters are intriguing, complex and believable. Their personalities played off one another, bouncing back and forth. After dealing with major trust issues the main characters have to figure out what the future holds for them. They have a strong connection with sizzling chemistry and that is a terrifying prospect for both. The scenes are vividly detailed and paints a wonderful backdrop that blends perfectly. Twists and turns wwith unexpected surprises that will keep your attention until the end. Lexi did a remarkable job bringing this read to life. Great job Lexi, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.
A really compelling read! It is well written, relatable with a well-developed consistent plot. The ideas are well-thought out and there is a great pace from scene to scene. The characters Riley and Harrison are great together but broken with trust issues. They will face a number of ups and downs that will have you screaming at them in frustration while rooting for them. The book ended beautifully. I loved it! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Steam, some suspense, and a GOOD summer read!
Using the incredibly descriptive prose for which she has become known, Lexi Aurora has inscribed a very complex story in her latest release “THE REAL McCoy.” Thematically rich, this tale of “Love heals all wounds” is well written, has a moderate pace and is character-driven. I loved how the author was able to give readers the opposing viewpoints of the main characters. Doing so allowed Aurora to build the story and explain the decisions each character made through their internal angst, what they revealed in conversation with others, and through their actions. Add Aurora’s ability to also build a sense of suspense in the same way, while only revealing a tiny bit of the history that is tainting the present was masterful! However, what really surprised me was my identification with the hero, Harrison! I have to say that is a first for me and it was a-typically refreshing. I became frustrated with the heroine, Riley, and her pattern of *&^^%$# (Don’t want to spoil a good read!), but I guess even smart girls make dumb decisions when emotions are high, and the risk required asks too much. I received an ARC copy of “THE REAL McCoy” to prepare this honest, voluntary review and find I must give it 4½ stars. “THE REAL McCoy” makes a really good summer read. Perfect for a poolside distraction or something that will titillate during long days at the beach. Get your copy today. Happy pages!
The Real McCoy Is A Real Joy!!!!!
I read this book as part of the Launch Team and I Loved it!!! Lexi has a wonderful way of pulling you into her books from the very beginning!! Riley and Harrison have both been hurt in the past and are very afraid to trust and take a chance on Love! Through a fake dating relationship and a surprise pregnancy they realize they are meant to be together!!!
This is a very quick light read. The two main characters, Harrison and Riley are consumed by the hurt of previous relationships and paralyzed in their inability to communicate their feelings. These present their own set of challenges, then add an unexpected baby to the mix. Things can get, complicated. See if they get their HEA.
Fears can be a big factor in how life is lived. After being disappointed in love Riley and Harrison are scared of opening their hearts to anyone new. Fate fortunately had something different in store for them. With the help of wonderful friends and a little trust they are able to find love with each other.
Harrison and Riley are dynamic character in this story each struggling with insecurity and relationships. Riley doesn’t trust easily thanks to a relationship where she poured her all into it only to be cheated on and objectified by her boyfriend. She meets Harrison while she was hiding out from another relationship disaster and they surprisingly connect. But thanks to Harrison’s parents he has problems of his own. Can Harrison and Riley get beyond their insecurities and bridge a bond? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Riley Byrne and Harrison McCoy met by chance at a private event. He has to leave and they lose touch.
Harrison by coincidence is planning to do business with Riley’s family and through this they meet again. Although reluctant, Riley agrees to date Harrison but only for show. However, the attraction between them is strong.
Each of them has reservations about the developing relationship and this leads to misconceptions on both parts that threaten anything they might build together.
I am a huge fan of Lexi Aurora. However, I just never connected with these characters, no matter how hard I tried.
Harrison was more likeable than Riley. I just found her too difficult to really engage with.
I received an ARC of this title and have voluntarily left a review.
I enjoyed reading this book. A contemporary romance
The book kept me entertained and it was a great book to read.
