Set against the backdrop of an unspoiled landscape and a lake that’s both serene and treacherous, Seb and Max’s relationship blossoms until a storm disrupts not only the surroundings, but also their future.

An Alpha, an omega, and an adorable piglet. What more can you ask for?
This is a stunning start to a new series! Colbie has created a wondrous world filled with intriguing characters. They pulled me in from the first pages, making me care about them. Max & Seb made me laugh, cry, want to shake sense into them, cheer for them. At times, Trixie, the cute piglet , is the smartest one in the room! There is steamy sex, a douchebag alpha, mpreg, bad poetry, and an epiphany. After breaking apart, and coming back together, HEA is within reach. When Max’s past catches up to him, he & Seb will have to flee. Cliffhanger! This will continue in the next book. I cannot wait! You will love this book.
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
I have to say, before I say anything else, that Trixie the piggie is the true star of the book. I mean, she’s a cutie baby piggie! How can she not be the true star?
Max is an Omega who has left his family and is now wandering the country, trying to do what he can to get by. One night, when he’s sleeping in a park because there’s nowhere else to sleep, he gets picked up by the cops and tossed into a jail cell with an aggressive Alpha and one who is asleep.
Seb is a little the worse for wear. He got completely hammered and tried to punch his ex-boyfriend’s new partner. So he ended up in jail for the night. While he’s trying to figure out what’s going on and trying to wake up, he hears a very aggressive Alpha trying to force the Omega to have sex with him. Seb wasn’t going to lay down and let that happen, so he made sure to help Max. And Max continued to stick with him, even after they both got out of jail. In fact, Seb hired Max to work on his farm.
There are some wonderful and happy things that go on in this story. The friendship that Max and Seb build up is wonderful. There are some not good things that happen. Let’s just say that Seb needs some help with his rectal-cranial inversion. Then there are some really, really not good things that happen. Things that have left me hanging and waiting for the next one. I may have yelled NOOOOOOO at the end of this one because I need the next one right this very second!
The first two-thirds of the book is hard to follow. There is a lot of jumping from one moment to another without explanation as to how or why they got there. Seb leaves a lot to be desired as an alpha but redeems himself in the end. Max is a bit too vague to get a true feel of who he is, why he thinks or acts as he does. I think thorough editing would really help this book and bring up the ratings.
Warning: this book ends in a cliffhanger
