Grace Just hearing his name makes me want to ball up my fist and punch something … preferably him, the legendary Jackson Tate. He’s the arrogant college Quarterback and womanizer, and I want nothing to do with him … that is, until my boss tells me I don’t have a choice, and I’m assigned to report on him for the school paper.Jackson is a million things at once, but he’s still just a person hiding … things at once, but he’s still just a person hiding behind his precious football.
Who knew we’d actually end up as, well, friends?
Jackson
If there was ever a girl who could kill me with looks alone, it’s Grace. The insecure, obstinate teacher’s pet seems to always be around. I don’t need her any more than she needs me, but the publicity is good, so hey, why not?
I never thought Grace would be one of the few people to take me seriously. She sees through my bullshit, and her blunt honesty is a breath of fresh air.
But, people don’t like it. They don’t like us. And when you’re the golden boy, you have to be liked.
But really, I don’t think anyone was expecting what happened next.
Not even us.

Grace is not what you would call a model. She would be the girl with the natural beauty. The one who has a beautiful mind and cares deeply for others. Entering her senior year of college things could be going well that is until her college paper editor gives her an assignment on the star quarterback. The same said quarterback that bullied and ridiculed her in high school.
Jackson has it all. great friends, supportive team and hot chicks dying to drop their panties for him at the snap of his fingers. Life could not be better. Till life throws him a curve ball. One he was not ready for.
Jackson’s life takes a nose dive when an accident happens. Grace is determined to be there for him even though he as said some ugly things about her. When Jackson hits rock bottom will he push away the one person who stood by his side. Or will Grace give him a chance or run away.
Together these two amazing characters embark on a intense downward spiral romance that neither of them were prepared for.
Wow! Great continuation of the Lakewood Romance Series. Amber Thielman has done it again and brought us a serious and intense romance. Amber has a habit of writing stories that have such deep topics. She touches on things that most people don’t realize happen to people. This book in particular touches on some really sensitive topics this world faces every day. Things from abuse, depression, suicide and woman’s rights. Amber really has a way of drawing her readers into the story with these types of topics that are real and deep.
Overall this book is an intense, high emotional story. This book is sure to tear your heart to shreds with it’s deep emotions and turmoil. The characters are so strong, yet weak at the same time and the struggles they deal with are so real and easy to imagine. I commend Amber for touching on such sensitive subjects. Bravo Amber another job well done.
This is the first book I have read by this author, and it won’t be my last. This story had me experiencing multiple emotions from angry, sad, and happy. Grace is a sweet woman. She is a beautiful writer and has to cover the quarterback for the school’s paper. Jackson is the quarterback that looks like he has everything. Grace is hesitant to interview Jackson because she’s known him her entire life. He has always made fun of her and has said less than complimentary words to her. It takes Jackson a while before he remembers Grace. He knows he hasn’t been the nicest to her. She’s not your typical hot college co-ed, but a chubby, non-interesting girl. The relationship between Grace and Jackson never has an accurate definition. Friends are a debatable title. No matter what is thrown her way, Grace will stand by you. You can beat her down, insult her, and disown her, but she has the personality that continues to forgive even when forgiveness shouldn’t be dished out. Her character is amazing. Jackson gives so many mixed signals that, as a reader, I still didn’t understand what in the world he could be thinking. Why did he fight his friendship with Grace so much? Why didn’t he open his eyes and see the truth in front of him? This book gives examples of forever forgiveness and growth in your self-worth and appreciating others. This was an incredible story that I couldn’t put down.

Jackson and Grace both have a past that they try and hide but when a former enemy is forced to re-unite with the girl he tormented (but can’t remember) sparks fly in more ways than either of them could imagine. This was an engaging story that has multiple surprises in store for the reader.

Grace a senior in college and is assigned to interview the star quarterback, Jackson. She’s not at all looking forward to it as they have a history together, he is the one who bullied her in high school. As they spend time together they form a friendship, then Jackson has an accident and it threatens everything they have built together. Will their relationship survive? Read and find out. This is such a great story, with an engaging storyline, well developed characters and one I recommend.
Grace is a senior in college and her final assignment is to write a story on the star quarterback (Jackson). Grace and Jackson don’t have a great history and it’s due to the fact that he bullied her in high school. Jackson has it all. great friends, supportive team and hot chicks dying to drop their panties for him at the snap of his fingers.Jackson’s life takes a nose dive when an accident happens and Grace is determined to be there for him. Can Grace forget the past and move forward? Can she give Jackson a chance?

Grace and Jackson’s story is interesting. Somewhat of a opposites attract or enemies to so much more story. It’s a good college romance between the school golden boy and star player and the teacher’s pet. She is tasked to interviewing him and writing story. She is not excited because she sees him a s a typical athlete and player. When these begin spending time with each other they see more than of the real person. It’s a good romance with humor, cuteness and steam.
Grace gets assigned to interview the college quarterback but she is not looking forward to it. Jackson is the same popular jock who did not treat her well when they were in high school. She tries to get out the assignment but she can’t and in the time that they spend together they develop a more fleshed out understanding of one another and a friendship develops. Jackson suffers an accident that threatens the relationship they are building as he grapples to deal with it. They both have real issues and insecurities to deal with. And this is a well written story of a young pair of people who struggle through real issues to something valuable in the end.

This was a good read. I wasn’t a fan of either Grace or Jackson.
This is the 1st book I’ve read written by Amber Thielman; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

Grace and Jackson are opposites, they seem to never find common ground and are often clashing with one another. On paper Grace is an aspiring poltical journalist and Jackson is the quarterback jock who is a known womanizer with an outlook to play hard and party hard. Or is he? When they’re forced to spend time together all bets are off and their story. is about to burn walls.

Great emotional story with interesting and realistic characters as well as a tender love story.
A nice story of enduring love and friendship that turns out to be a whole lot more. Grace a socially ackward nerd bullied all thru school has the chance in college to show off her writing skills. She is to interview the star quarterback Jackson who was one of her bullies from her past being in school together since kindergarten. Through the interviews they develop a friendship and she finds that football wasn’t always his dream but his fathers. Can old scars be healed? Can trust be given the chance? Can hearts be opened? I liked the dynamics of the relationship between Jackson and Grace, they both have issues that need to be dealt with and along the way they learn to face those issue and learn how to find love in the end.

A great fun read with plenty of passion between Grace and Jackson. He’s a womaniser and she wants nothing to do with him. Pity her hormones and his disagree. They’re like magnets that are so attracted to each other and just can’t keep away!. Looking forward to reading more of Amber Thielman’s stories

This is an enjoyable enemies to lovers romance with strong characters and an entertaining story line. It was fun watching Jackson and Grace navigate through all the drama and emotions as they work through their relationship. They have ups and downs and twists along the way. There’s enough steam as well as humor to make this an entertaining story. It’s well written, moves fluidly and gave me a few chuckles while reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
