I don’t even know where to start! A suspense/romance book? Get out of here!!
You have a small city/town girl like Jody who goes to NYC to find her sister. Now I have always wondered if twins actually have ESP when it comes to one another. Do they really have that special connection? Can they tell when 1 is in trouble, or hurt? Jody knew Ashley was in trouble and alive but what she didn’t know was the extent of her job in NYC! One lie after the other led Jody to Escape. Now Escape isn’t your ordinary run of the mill call girl place. Oh no siree bob!!
Jason Grant a big time NFL player finds himself playing an escape with Jody. Now Jody is a fill in. However their chemistry if off the chart. You thought they knew one another and just were pretending to be strangers. That is how well their bodies read one another.
Any who……..One thing leads to another and 1 mystery after another Jody learns all these things about Ashley and what her real job at Escape was, Jason learns a thing or two about the people he has come to befriend as well.
Jason helps Jody with her search, like I said 1 mystery after the other and BOOM they figure out what and who and why! It’s incredible how all the lies were kept and who did what. The person you thought was responsible isn’t and vise versa. I was like wait a minute are you serious here?? It was defiantly a page turner, the sex was hot and steam and off the charts as well.
Romance and suspense. It kept you wondering on both aspects. You weren’t able to easily guess where the story was going. I liked that. I was cheering for Jody to get the guy and get her sister back. Book kept me interested from start to finish
This book was intense and very unpredictable from the start. When I first started to read this book what happens in the first few pages were unexpected and from then on the book took me on a good ride. Loved Laurie and loved reading another great book.
4.5 Stars
Well Well Well, this one was quite the little gem; so wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I did.
I don’t actually read much romantic suspense as it’s not my favourite genre but so glad I gave “Escape With Me” a chance.
So this was my first book by this particular author but it certainly won’t be my last.
Told in dual POV with a from the get-go interesting premise this managed to hook my attention instantly.
Such an easy fast paced suspensful read; which was a hot as it was tense.
“Escape With Me” managed to portray just the right amount of balance between plotline and romance.
The story centres around Jody and Jason.
Jody is in the city to investigate her sister’s disappearance from the exclusive escort club “Escape”.
obtaining a job in the office under false pretences mainly so she can dig deeper into the mystery at hand; it’s not long before she realises she’s in a lot deeper than she can safely handle.
Jason is a pro football player and when he mistakes Jody for his booked Escort Vixen sparks do ignite.
But with a barrel of baggage left behind by his greedy Ex, the road to true love with these two was never going to be easy.
With dodgy happenings about and things heating up on the streets as well as between the sheets, Jason pairs up with Jody to assist her in her search and also help keep her safe; while still trying to protect his own heart in the process.
So this was a great read that was action packed throughout; the characters involved here were both likeable and believable.
The side-cast was also fantastic adding an extra layer to the proceedings and just when I thought I had all the answers I quickly realised that was not actually the case at all.
Some stuff I did guess but other bits completely shocked my socks off.
This was by no means predictable and definitely kept me guessing.
this would have been a full house from me but unfortunately, I disliked the ending; I thought Jason got off much too lightly and Jody should really have made the lad squirm.
I also didn’t like how he didn’t come to Jody’s defence against his manager, that well annoyed me.
And finally how much importance he gave to his crappy biotch of an Ex letting her actions impact his life with a girl who had never been anything but lovely to him.
That peed me off the most if I’m being honest here.
But despite the above, the rest of this was grand for me and a fantastic read.
This is such a fabulous addition to its genre that I’m happy to give a thumbs up to.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “Escape With Me” of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions are entirely my own.

Jody Mason is on a mission to find her missing sister. Ashley was working as an escort at Escape, a high class club, where clients such as football player Jason Grant go to experience high class experiences.
Jody is mistaken as Vixen, but this mistake takes them both on an incredible experience they may both not live to regret.
Jody’s singleminded determination will take them both on a dangerous, sexual adventure, filled with politicians, drug dealers, and madams. Hold on to your seats and be prepared for anything goes.
Escape With Me is the first book that I have read by Lisa Eugene. She did not disappoint with this book! I loved the characters. There was so much mystery and suspense, I couldn’t not put the book down. I definitely recommend reading this.
Loved the suspense and just when I thought I knew what to expect, “BAM!” change of pace. I liked the “escapes” created and even touched on a couple of my personal escapes. Good writing, well developed characters and the chemistry had me wanting more. This is my first book from this author but am adding more of her work to my TBR shelf. Jason and Jody give each point of their views and I loved that! Escape with Me had just enough mystery to hold my attention throughout. I haven’t read a suspenseful romance in a while and I am happy to be refreshed by Escape with Me.
This book has many elements…romance, sizzling hot chemistry, and suspense. There is a chance encounter by mistaken identity between the H and h…and for a moment I wasn’t sure where this was going to go….but go it did. Small town girl meets NFL star and after their ..ummm .. meeting he just can’t get Jody out of his head. Good book. Great character development and suspense element. All in all I would recommend reading.
This is my first book by Lisa Eugene. I loved the suspense with its twist and turns. Jody is looking for her twin sister Ashley. She hasn’t heard from her so Jody goes undercover at her work. That is how she meets Jason Grant. He ia a wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks. Their first meet was a mistake but what a meeting.
Escape with Me started off hot when our heroine, Jody met our hero, Jason. This book has an interesting main plot with a good amount of love story mixed in. There were a couple times that I thought I had the mystery figured out only to find out I was wrong. The true “who-dun-it” was a shock to me because it someone I never suspected. The heroine and hero are both stubborn at times to the point you wanted to smack them. Overall, this was a good book. Had the right amount of love and suspense.
When Jody is mistaken for an escort by her football idol, Jason Grant, does she give him the “escape” he’s at Escape for, or simply tell him his real escort is not available? Are you crazy?! Of course she gives him a good, no, GREAT, time and they both leave feeling seriously satisfied. But when Jason gets caught up in Jody’s search for her twin sister, they can’t help falling into bed again and feelings start developing. Feelings Jason is not prepared for, nor does he want to admit to, and Jody just knows she’s going to get her heart broken. And she just may lose her life, too, as her search for her sister turns dangerous and the bodies start disappearing and piling up.
I liked Escape with Me. It’s sexy, super sexy, and the suspense and mystery make the developing relationship even more interesting than it would have been on its own. I wanted to smack Jason more than once for being a typically obtuse man, but at heart he was a good guy. Jody was easy to connect to – sweet and so earnest in her search for the sister whose shadow she’d always been eclipsed by. I do wish her relationship with her sister had been given a bit more detail at the end, but maybe a story is coming for Ashley that would give their relationship a more rounded feel. Still, the way it’s written, I still really liked it and look forward to more from this author.
I liked the book, I received an ARC and am reviewing because I want to.
Jody and Jason have an instant connection. Jody works for a unique company as she is trying to find her sister who is missing. She fills in for a friend for a night date and she meets Jason who is the client. Jason is a super huge football star that Jody just happens to love (she is a HUGE football fan).
There is romance and some super steamy scenes. There are some twists and turns along the way adding to the mystery of what happened to Jodys sister.
I have not read anything by Lisa Eugene before. I liked the writing and the story, I could see myself reading more books by her.
Mystery, suspense, romance. What a great book. Could not put it down. Keeps you on the edge of your seat and wanting more. Will definitely read more of her books.
Not my normal read but I loved the book. Lisa Eugene has written a suspense romance. Jason and Jody are a romantic pair. Really Eugene keeps you in suspense until the very end. Jason and Jody are trying to figure out the mysterious disappearance of her sister and along the way find love.
This is my first read from this author and I enjoyed it very much. I loved Jody and Jason together. They sure smolder when they were together. I will defend be reading more from this author.
This is a thrill ride up until the very end! While I loved the romance that blossomed between Jason and Jody, I so loved the twist and turns even more. You didn’t know who was good or bad until the very end. I honestly didn’t even see that coming! Just a shock to me. What I thought was gonna be a book about a sex club turned into so much more! This book was shocked full of suspense! I thought Jody and Jason was great characters especially at the end when Jason finally came to his senses. The way he won her was perfection! I really enjoyed this book!!
ESCAPE WITH ME is not my first read by Lisa Eugene, but hell if I wasn’t in for a huge surprise. It is so insanely different from GRAYSON – and with me having that story in mind and only knowing vaguely about the blurb (I didn’t even read the full synopsis) I was in for a suspenseful, thrilling and erotic awakening. This one is a fantasy come to life shrouded in some serious mystery and danger.
Disappearances happening in a gentleman’s entertainment club (we’ll leave it at that…), a disappeared sister who came to the city to work at said club and a pro-footballer looking for the anonymity a club as this can provide him. A misunderstanding that throws our heroine into the lion’s den and leads to a night of unexpected dirty pleasures. What the hell can go wrong?
Jody is a small-town girl coming to Big Apple in search of her missing sister. With no other starting point than her last working place, she takes a desk job at said gentleman’s club, going on a thrilling and unexpected journey of self-discovery into a world of dark desires, a world far out of her comfort zone…
Enter Jason Grant, football superstar and Jody’s secret fantasy lover, who is looking for some casual and, most importantly, anonymous action after a bad breakup.
It’s just a tiny push of fate that is needed to have poor Jody tumbling right into Jason’s arms – and deeper into a world full of kidnappers, drug deals and murderers…
These two seriously set the sheets on fire, holy crap. And together they are drawn deeper and deeper into a dangerous net of lies, deceit and murder. Their journey is filled to the brim with mystery and intrigue, and so many twists and turns that have you forgetting your own name.
Who is friend, who is foe? You won’t know until the very end…
If you like your romance with a healthy dose of sizzle and tons of intrigue and suspense, look no further, you have definitely found your next read!
4.5 STARS
What can I say except I just couldn’t get enough of this book. This was so different to the usual feel of a Lisa Eugene book but was equally as good if not better than anything she has ever written.
I’m not going to rehash the blurb just because I went in blind expecting the authors usual MO that is surrounding mental health issues. When I realised that it wasn’t the case I was already half way through the book and couldn’t put it down.
The characters are extremely lovable and I had no problems what so ever in loving them. I did want to give Jason a kick or two a couple of times nearer the end of the book but he totally redeems himself and you can’t help but swoon over him.
The plot has been well thought out and will evoke a few different emotions from the reader at different times. There is a couple of really big twists I didn’t see coming so don’t presume with this book because I would never have guessed what they were.
Overall a thoroughly enjoyable book that I will definitely be recommending to everyone. The only slight downfall I had with it is that I would have liked an epilogue of the future.
