Even the most powerful psychic in the world has her blind spots. For the past two-thousand and some odd years, Diana Hawthorne has always been able to see the past, present, and future with near perfect accuracy. Her only blind spot has been herself. The first twenty years of her existence is a complete blank and she doesn’t know why. Then she met Blake Wilson. Not only is he another blind … she met Blake Wilson.
Not only is he another blind spot—he’s also a Private Investigator hired to disprove her abilities in order to protect some missing girls they were both tasked with finding. With her psychic gifts on the fritz whenever Blake’s around, everything Diana’s fighting for starts to unravel.
And worst of all, it’s leading her to the one thing she’s always wanted: the key to her past.
Can Diana get over her deficiencies and show Blake how gifted she really is? Or will she let the callings of her ancient past cloud her judgment and derail her mission?
Either way, lives hang in the balance.

INTERVIEW WITH CARISSA ANDREWS
Q: What inspires your writing?
A: I’ve always had a passion for ancient history and old mythologies. I originally went to school for archaeology, but ended up studying ancient art, history, and literature. My life experience has also brought me to some very eclectic interests, which I’ve used to elaborate in my stories… For example, I’m a Reiki Master, I’ve studied mixed martials arts, and have a special place in my heart for the metaphysical. I wanted my stories to be a blend of not only the things I found fascinating, but the sort of tales that I knew my readers would be enthralled with. If you can put down one of my books, then I don’t feel I’ve done my job.
Q: What other books are tied to Oracle?
A: Oracle is the first in the Diana Hawthorne books, but there are two other stories tied to her world so far:
- The Final Five (prequel) – Available Now!
- Awakening: Rise as the Fall Unfolds – Coming November 2019!
Q: What other books can readers enjoy?
A: In addition to the ones listed above, I also have a young adult scifi/fantasy/dystopian series available for readers who love genre-bending speculative fiction. Those titles include:
- Trajectory: A Pendomus Chronicles Prequel (found exclusively in On the Brink Dystopian Anthology)
- Pendomus: Book 1 of the Pendomus Chronicles
- Polarities: Book 2 of the Pendomus Chronicles
- Revolutions: Book 3 of the Pendomus Chronicles

Oracle: A Paranormal Women’s Fiction Series (A Diana Hawthorne Supernatural Mystery Book 1) Kindle Edition
by Carissa Andrews (Author) Format: Kindle Edition
Thank you to Carissa Andrews, the publisher and Booksirens for the complimentary reviewer’s copy. I am choosing to leave a fair and honest review.
Diana Hawthorne is a bright new light in the Urban Fantasy genre. Diana is a psychic who can see everyone’s past, present and future, except her own past. That is until Blake, a private investigator walks into her office. Her powers don’t work on him and she can’t understand why that is. Unfortunately, that concern gets shoved to the side as both Blake and Diana get caught up in a child kidnapping/trafficking case that takes them to Greece.
Ms. Andrews makes a splash with her new series. With its intricate plot, ancient secrets and a horror of a crime, Oracle barrels along. Nearly impossible to put down, the pages nearly turn themselves as both the reader and Diana seek answers,
There are four main characters, Diana, Blake, Ren and Aidan. Most of the characters are fresh in a genre filled with magically powered heroines. The only character that caused some concern is Ren. Ms. Andrews casts him as a stereotypical flashy gay man, including flair snaps and a wickedly sharp tongue. Hopefully, he will grow as the series goes on.
Diana bears the burden of narration. Told in the first person, present tense, the reader gains knowledge only as Diana does. The answer to her memory loss is a shock, leaving the reader to feel the same confusion and sorrow that Diana does.
Ms. Andrews is a brilliant writer that truly shines.
I can’t wait to read the second and third books.

From the blurb of this book, I expected to enjoy it. What I didn’t expect, was to enjoy it as much as I did.
What a wonderful story, relateable characters and an interesting premise.
Diana and Blake were just so likeable, as was Renaldo (I could actually picture the three of them in my mind, and it was awesome!). It has been a while since I have felt this connected to characters in a book. Yes, I have liked characters in previous books, and they have been well developed and all that, but these characters were just so … present – don’t know how to describe it.
The story was fast-paced, kept moving along. At no time was I bored or frustrated with the story nor the characters.
If I could pick a book to ‘be in’, it would definitely be this one.
Well done to the author for keeping me engaged, engrossed and excited. This will definitely not be the last book I read from this author.
Loved it … and if you enjoy fast-paced, intriguing reads, the one is defininitely highly recommended, my top 5 of the books I’ve read this year, and I have read almost 100 books (I think, somewhere around there) this year.
The long ago past and the present.
Diana dislikes the world. People are so rude! She is a psychic and many are wary of her “powers”. This adventure takes her into the world of human trafficking but also leads her to find her out about her own past. Her memories are only glimpses that she is fitting together. She is trying to discover how Blake fits into her life. Lots of discoveries to be made. Many twists and turns. Great read. Ready to read Amends – Book 2.

Dianne is a psychic, doing readings for ordinary people, with ordinary daily life problems. She doesn’t like people, but she needs to maintain her living. But there is something peculiar about her, she can’t age. She also can’t view her own past, present and future. When she meets Blake to solve a missing persons case, he is the only person she can’t read. When they uncover a pedophile ring, all hell breaks loose. Can they rescue the girls who are destined to disappear? Can Dianne solve her mystery about why she can’t remember who she is? And most off all, why is she attracted to Blake?
I love the infusion of Greek Mythology, I always find stories revolving ancient places, fascinated. The beginning is slow, building up, with both main characters testing each ground. It is full of action, thriller, and magic with a twist on undeniable attraction. I really like it and want so more where this will go.
I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and the characters and story were both well developed. I loved the character individual personalities and seeing the relationship dynamics evoke and change through the book. The story was action packed and full of twists and turns. It had suspense, intrigue, emotion, romance and hot chemistry. I’d highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next book in the series!!
ORACLE is the first book in the Diana Hawthorne Supernatural Mystery series, and we are introduced to Diana and Ren. She provides the readings, and Ren provides the flamboyant comic relief. When a young girl disappears, Diana is able to psychically find her, and provides assistance to the PI, Blake, the parents have asked to help. Diana is amazed to find out that she has a ‘blind spot’ where Blake is concerned. When it turns out more children are involved, they try to help them all.
I thought the characters in here are wonderful, those that we meet properly, anyway. There are others that are mentioned in passing, even though it appears they have a big impact on Diana (I’m looking at you, Demitri!), and I would love to know more about them and just what exactly happened.
I found the pacing to be smooth and flowed naturally from one scene to the next. Told exclusively from Diana’s perspective, we get insights into her thoughts, but I would have liked to have heard from Blake too.
If you like Greek mythology, mystery, and the supernatural, then I can definitely recommend this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end, and am now looking forward to book two being release.

Archaeolibrarian – I Dig Good Books!
I’ve read a number of Ms Andrews’ fabulous works, but, unfortunately, I didn’t read them in the correct order. I now plan to put this to rights.
I kept coming across this character named Diana Hawthorne who people called upon to fix things when, supernaturally, the $hit hit the fan. A really confident, totally gallus, young woman who seemed to know everything about everybody. She looks like a twenty-something female, but is actually a two-thousand-year-old psychic. A REAL and exceptional one who can read all beings.
Diana has a block in her memory of her first twenty or so years of life. The only blank she has ever come across. However, when she meets Blake Wilson, he is totally unreadable. This has never happened before. What is so different about him? While they try to solve the mystery of missing girls, Blake tries to disprove her psychic abilities at every turn. But, boy, is she attracted to him. The mysteries all converge in the universe until, finally, Diana gains insight into her ancient origins.
Easy reading, great characters (Diana’s assistant is a hoot!), with a beautifully constructed story showing both the good and (very) bad of mankind. Looking forward to the next ‘Diana’ story.
I bet you won’t see that coming!
Diana is definitely a character. I like her. I recommend reading, the Final Five first. I didn’t really like her in that story, but learning about her in this book, it’s now my new favorite by Carissa Andrews. I cannot wait for the next book, Amends!!!
Immortality has its pro and cons, and this immortal finally has the chance to have their ultimate dream fulfilled..for a price. This great series starter introduces you to wonderful characters while trying to solve life problems big and small. Psychic powers being used to solve crimes as well as our mundane love woes. Reads seamlessly and is the perfect introduction to a new to me author! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
I love what Carissa Andrews writes so I picked this up to see how it compares to her bestselling series The Pendomus Chronicles. First off this is a very different type of story being an Urban Fantasy Mystery. It didn’t take long for me to become invested in the story with Diana the main character, it hit the ground running and I was hooked. Carissa is great at character creation and is a wonderful storyteller. This book left me wanting more I can hardly wait for the next to come out.
A great book the first of the series.
At first you may think the book is just about a Psychic and a Mystery but there is a lot more to the story as you will find out when you read the book.
It starts out as a mystery but will all be revealed……
Dianna meets Blake she feels very attracted to him but she cannot figure out why ,
it seems as thought they have meet before but as she has lost her past memory she does not know why.
This book is varied and interesting and unlike any other book i have read ,i thoroughly enjoyed it as i am sure you will too.
It has a bit of magic ,Romance ,Mystery and some humour with many twists and turns.
Great characters and it is a story you will full in love with and want more….so get the book.
Diana Hawthorne is a psychic and is very good at reading people and rooms. Diana likes using her psychic powers to help people out with their ever day lives or with their love lives or to find missing things. A young girl goes missing. Her parents seek out Diana’s help to find her. Diana contacts the police with the information she has on the missing girl.
A stranger shows up in Diana’s home giving her a shock. This stranger is a private investigator looking out for the girl’s parents. He is just checking to make sure Diana can do what she claims she can do. Diana and Blake team up to find the missing girl. The case of the missing girl turns out to be more than just a kidnapping.
I really liked Diana and Blake but Diana’s assistance Renaldo holds a special place in my heart. I loved their relationship. I loved how Renaldo was always late. I can relate to him being late. I have this reputation of being late to up hold myself or that is what I tell my family you know a little joke between us. No seriously though I really loved his attitude and how he dealt with things.
Oracle has lots of different emotions tied to it like it made me sad at times but it made me feel happy too. Then there were times when I felt angry at the things people will do. I just don’t understand.
Oracle was a great read and I really loved all the characters and can’t wait to see more of them in future books. After reading Oracle I have come to know Diana better and I have come to really like her.
I would recommend Oracle to all fans of mystery, fantasy or anyone looking for a great book to read.
This book is insanely amazing. She knows the past, present, and future of everyone but herself and one other. On her path to find herself she saves a few kids on the way. She also has an extremely funny store keeper and a handsome love of all her lives. Just read it. You won’t regret it.
This book grabbed a hold of me right away – it’s original, suspenseful and fun. Diana is immortal and can see the past, present and future. She has never met a person that she couldn’t “read” until a private investigator comes along looking for her help. For some reason, Diana finds Blake as her blind spot. This book clicks along well, and the supporting cast is just as fun, the characters all interact very well with some great laugh out loud moments. The author does a great job bringing unique voices to each character.
When Diana and Blake try to break up a child trafficking ring which will lead them to Italy – and Diana and Blake may find out more than they ever thought. The only part that I thought was too perfect was the ending and how everything snapped into place so easily. But it’s easy to root for these characters and I’m looking forward to the next book.
Grab this book now! It’s fantastic. Seriously.
To carry this weight a lifetime…
With no knowledge of how one came to be. A burden many would hide from. Yet a life still controlled by unknown variables. Keeps the path followed full of sights and knowledge. Use wisely can be helpful to many. If only it could unlock the secrets of her own past.
I received a free copy of this book from the author.
This is the first book I’ve read by Clarissa Andrews. I was not disappointed in the least. The story moves really quickly and it’s quite entertaining. We meet Diana Hawethorne – a well known psychic who can read people’s futures and she has quite a standing list of people who want to be read by her.
If only she could remember where she got these special gifts from. This book is the first in the series and it sets the scene for major changes in Diana’s every day life. In Oracle she meets Blake, a PI that she helps find a missing girl. He’s very doubtful of her abilities and doesn’t know how Diana actually finds the girl. He needs more to believe.
It doesn’t take long for him to come to the conclusion she’s something special. Especially in the romance department. In Oracle both Diana and Blake come into the truth about who they are and what their destiny holds. Though Diana is not happy about the realization of her expectations. I think it’ll work out in the end…we shall see.
4.5 stars! Interesting characters and a steady paced mystery that consistently kept my attention and interest. The spark between Diana and Blake, her psychic abilities and his (fading) skepticism, her search for lost memories from her past (over 2 millennia ago), a child trafficking mystery, it all makes for a very full story. The pace was good, and the characters were well written, with good secondary characters that filled in the story and in some cases provided a dose of laugher or sweetness in just the right places. Overall a very good book, with an ending that leaves you wanting to keep going.
