The thrilling conclusion to the dark and seductive Where We Began Duet from USA Today Bestseller Nora Flite.Laiken has finally heard the dark rumors about me.Everyone who hears runs away. But she can’t.She’s trapped here, in my house–with me.Each minute we’re together I’m driven to swallow her up. To see if the electricity that moves between us will grow or vanish. I thought we were falling in … I thought we were falling in love. Now, I’m sure that she hates my very existence.
But when she glares at me… I see a flicker of desire in her blue eyes. The way she fixates on my mouth reminds me of how filthy we’ve been.
How filthy we could be.
My father has warned me to stay away from her. He knows she’s become my weakness. All my life, I just wanted to be the perfect soldier for him. To do everything he asked so he’d be proud.
I thought I could.
Laiken is doing her best to prove me wrong.

Really good conclusion to this duet, and normally I’m not a fan of them! There was so much emotion poured into the pages that I never wanted to stop reading! I’m glad this set came up as a recommendation on my feed.
I loved everything about Dominic and Laiken’s relationship and them falling in love. They are truly made for each other.
HEA, Hacker, strong female, forbidden love
Nora has written an amazing series. I’m literally sad that its over. This duet is one of my favorites that I’ve ever read. I can’t get enough of Dominic and Laiken. Despite everything they’ve been through, they make you believe in love. I’m so glad they got their happy ending. I’m not gonna lie, I did cry at times while reading this, but they were worth it. These two are one of my favorite book couples. As much as I hated some of the other characters, they redeemed themselves in this one. I cannot wait to read more from Nora, but this series will always be my favorite work of hers.
Truly genius ending to an amazing duet!!!
The way Nora continued Dominic and Laiken’s story was nothing short of genius.
After, Laiken found out the secret that Dominic was hiding she wasn’t sure what to believe because her heart told her that he couldn’t have done what everyone said he did, including himself. Laiken is thrown into many situations that any normal person would not have come back from but she not one to let bad things get her down.
Dominic is not sure what is going to happen when the only person that he loves and has gotten love from finds out his secret. All he knows is that he must still protect her no matter what happens, oh and he needs to find her father.
The ending of this story really surprised me and almost had me is tears because of what happens. This is one of the top books I have read so far this year.
Talk about an incredible ending to this intense duet.
When Laiken is speaking you can feel the wilderness, like walking through a forest and breathing the clean air. I am drawn to her fierce determination to fight for what she wants and standing her ground. Regardless of what life has thrown at her, she finds a way to always find the best in each situation.
Dominic… ugh! I get so caught up in him! When I am reminded that he is only 19… NINETEEN! I am floored. He has such an old soul, so in need of the basic desires of the heart… love. Too be loved and needed. He carries the world on his shoulders, and he definitely has the shoulders to do so.
When I think of these two characters, I am always drawn to that scene in the preserve… you know what I’m talking about. Perfect description and setting for these two. The freedom of the forest and the power of the storm, Laiken and Dominic will fill your senses!
Definitely worth a One-Click! Do it!
What a great end to the Duet of books, it was great to find out what happened to Kara while Laiken was kept at the estate as well as find out more about what happened to Dominic while he was away. There were plenty of intense times, hot n heavy scenes and twist you don’t see coming. I just wish they were older than they are in the book as they read older than they are especially Dominic.
A beautiful ending to tragic love affair between Dominic and Laiken. This is the second book in the duet series by Nora Flite and it’s amazing. A fantastic read.
Favorite quote: Laiken to Dominic ~ “…this thing we have – this wonderful warm, beautiful thing – it would never have happened. I’d suffer a thousand different ways if it meant we ended like this.”
This is the second book in this duet and it is crucial that you read book one first as this book picks up the story directly from where we were left on a cliffhanger and crucial part in the story.
Laiken learnt Dominic’s dark secret and we were left wondering what this would mean for them and if it changed Laikens feelings for him. However, poor Laiken is still hostage in the Bradley home so has no way of escaping from the situation.
Book one left me with so many questions that I was looking for answers to from this final instalment. Things develop quite well but I still felt something was missing from the story and as characters came and went the whole crux of the story from the start just seemed to be lost for me and not adequately addressed. This book tends to deal more with the issues surrounding the warring families than the relationship between the two main characters for me too.
I loved Laiken and despite her situation found her to be a strong developed character. I enjoyed hearing more from Dominic in this instalment and loved his dark persona but loved seeing that he needed Laiken to accept him. The attraction and chemistry between the two was off the charts.
Overall an enjoyable duet that has a hot slightly twisted romance at its heart.
5 Star second part to the sexy romantic suspense that started in Where We Began.
After six years of life in a gilded cage, Laiken is finally reunited with her sister Kara, although it’s not the reunion that she dreamed of. Shaken and confused by Kara’s cold demeanour, Laiken never thought that Kara had been living through a nightmare of her own. Not only that, Kara’s extreme hatred of Dominic means that she is about to rip the rug of Laiken’s feelings for him, from right out under her feet.
In his defeatist way, having hidden a life of suffering and abuse from Laiken, Dominic believes that it is better for her if she hates him, so isn’t about to share his side of any story, and anyway, he should’ve done it before, and now it’s too late.
Even as much as Dominic vowed never to let his parents down again in book one, he is beginning to realise their true natures, that to never let them down, means to absolutely corrupt his soul beyond redemption. In the end, it is Laiken’s absolute belief in her own judgement, and her belief in Dominic’s true nature from their first meeting at 12, that might mean she can help him out from under the depths of his own despair and guilt.
Where We Ended is a beautiful finish to the twisted romantic suspense that started in Where We Began. Nora Flite has written a group of characters who’s lives are shaped and restricted by those who answer only to greed and power, but, they manage to remain strong, and Dominic is a troubled and gorgeous man trying his best to deserve the love he doesn’t believe he should have. Awesome 5 Star read.
What a wonderful ending to this duet! Dominic and Laiken both proved that love can conquer all. I fell in love with this couple in the first book and I continued to love them throughout the conclusion. Dominic was to hard on himself and I have a feeling that if it wasn’t for Laiken’s love he would have gone down with everyone else. I’m glad he was able to redeem himself. I also glad that Kara proved herself to me as I wasn’t a big fan of her at the end of the first book. Ms. Flite really knows how to hold your attention and keep you wanting to read on. She had my attention throughout this series and I’m glad I read it. Love Dominic and Laiken forever.
