I should have expected it when I discovered my wife had been having an affair. But it still made me stumble.Raising the twins alone was never in my plans. But here I am.Every day, my bitterness grows, threatening to wrap around my heart, darkening every part of my life. But Christine brings a brightness I wasn’t even looking for.She tells me I’m not alone — that she understands better than anyone … that she understands better than anyone what I’m going through.
I only needed her friendship, but it turned into so much more.
Something that I never imagined I’d experience again.
But Christine was hiding something that has the power to destroy everything we’ve built together.
Still, I can’t deny that she feels like home.

Jennifer has a talent for writing extremely relatable characters. Reading one of her books feels like coming home, or simply sitting around with a group of wonderful friends. This book made me feel warm and gooey inside and I was left happy, content and loving life–exactly what a romance should do. Highly recommend!
Loved a romance with an over thirty five hero and an over forty heroine! These are real people with real good friends and healthy relationships with their children and that just warmed my heart. I cracked up at the dialogue, that aside from each characters back story drama their character quirks—Andy being anti barf— that was hilarious. Christine loving to be scared and he hated it. Just very very real. The other thing was the respect Andy had for his marriage and his relationship with christine. I really liked this book, laughed a little, cried a little, sighed a little. All of which means it was a satisfying romance. I’ll be reading more from the author.
I laughed, I had a few tears, and I loved reading about love a second time around!
I loved this book and fell in love with Andy and Christine and of course their children (especially the boys!!). Christine & Andy both had tough previous relationships and it’s nice to read about people in their mid/late 30’s finding love again. The secondary characters had me laughing out loud at times too!
A fabulous book which I couldn’t put down!!
4.5 Stars
I have loved the men and women that Jennifer Van Wyk has written. They have felt like friends throughout this interconnected books. Having been introduced to both Andy and Christine in previous novels, I was anxious for them to get their happily ever after.
Andy is raising his two teenage boys on his own after his wife cheated on him and abandoned her sons. Christine is raising her teenage daughter on her own after her husband dies. They know each other through mutual friends, and when they’re ready, they begin dating. They handle this progression quite well, including all of their children in their decisions.
I really loved these two. I loved how mature they handled their relationship. I think the only thing that bothered me was their friends in the second half of the book; they all were a little over the top, and that wore on me.
I highly recommend Feels Like Home by Jennifer Van Wyk. I look forward to reading more by this author.
Oh, Andy & Christine are swoony goodness and their story is SO MUCH FUN!! Their group of friends (who are in the first two books as well) are HILARIOUS! Seriously had several laugh out loud moments when the group of guys or the group of girls all get together.
The romance is sweet & spicy, the family dynamic wonderfully written, and the bonus epilogue w/ the preview for the next book… YAY! Highly recommend this series. Absolutely in love w/ it! : )
Two people whose spouses cheat on them manage to find love and acceptance in each other. This book is funny, romantic, and realistic.
Feels Like Home by Jennifer Van Wyk is a sweet, contemporary, friends to lovers romance. The story follows Andy as he goes through the process of divorcing his cheating spouse while he forms a relationship with Christine, a widow he has always found attractive. They are both single-parents and likeable, mature characters. Their relationship progresses from acquaintances to friends to more than friends to love.
The author tackles the topic of finding love again after experiencing the betrayal of cheating. Overall, it was a pleasant story about starting over and getting a second chance at love.
Feels Like Home is home! These families and characters are amazing, supportive, funny and makes you want to be part of them. As the story continues from Jennifer Van Wyk’s other books- Andy and Christine work to get HEA after ugly pasts that have them connected.
Andy’s wife cheats on him, Christine has been his friend for awhile and she is a support for him. Christine is a single mom after her husband pasted away from cancer a few years ago. This book has some surprises you do not anticipate but draws you in with the love and devotion for these 2 characters and their families.
Christine connects with Andy’s twin boys and her daughter Bri wants her mom to be happy. Andy is so kind and sweet and yes heartbroken but knows he wants to be with Christine. She wants to be with him as well. Their story is so genuine and when they both mess up in building a relationship together- it is their friends, family and kids who make them realize they are meant to be together and to fight for each other.
Everyone wants to find a place that feels like home and this book definitely makes you feel at home. I was surprised at how quickly the book jumped directly into the meat of story without much lead up and wondered what else could possibly happen in the second half with so much in the first but it just kept getting better.
4.5 Stars!
I loved Feels Like Home an emotional and realistic romance that features older characters. This is a second chance at love story that starts off with a jaw dropping surprise and kept me glued to my seat to the very end. While funny at times, due to the teens that are children of the main characters in the story, the sorrow and heartbreak they felt was so vivid that I felt it, too. There are some unexpected surprises that I didn’t see coming and added so much to this already beautiful story.
Andy, the father of twin fourteen year old boys, becomes a single dad almost overnight when he comes home to find his wife, Heather, with another man. He’d suspected her of cheating long before but, since he’d never been confronted by it, he hadn’t wanted to put an end to their marriage, for the sake of the boys. Now single, at 35, he’s bitter and taking it out on the boys and his coworkers. Heather walked away from their marriage without looking back, seemingly without a care, not even for their boys.
When Christine, the owner of his favorite coffee shop and a single mother herself, offers him some advice it resonates with him. Soon he’s back, for more than advice, something she’s a little weary of at first.
“I didn’t realize I was looking for something. I felt content in the life that I was living, and then Andy walked in and shook everything up, everything that I thought I knew.”
Christine, at forty-one, is a widow with an eighteen year old daughter. Her husband died a few years ago after battling cancer. But not all was what it seemed in their perfect marriage and she has a secret she’s kept from her daughter, friends and family. Christine confesses it to Andy, much to her surprise, because he seemed to need to hear it. But she doesn’t reveal everything; there are things she needs to keep to herself, that can only cause more harm than good.
As Andy and Christine grow closer, it’s not just them; their kids are now just as emotionally involved as they are. Unfortunately when secrets and lies are revealed they threaten to destroy the trust and love between them.
I love a dual POV story and this one hit the right notes! Clear your afternoon, and be ready to be swept away, you’ll be happy you did!
Feel good, super sweet, single parents, and hilarious friends. What more could anyone need in a book? Feels Like Home has all that and more. This is the ultimate keep you smiling, have you swooning read! I spent the entire time reading just melting at how sweet all these characters were. I couldn’t get enough of them!
Andy was not only hands down king of swoon, he was also hilarious. When he wasn’t killing me with sweetness he had me dying of laughter. I couldn’t have dreamed up a better book boyfriend. Christine was his perfect match. Kindhearted, a caring mother, and an incredibly strong woman she was exactly what Andy and his sons needed. I didn’t even notice the slow burn of their relationship because I was so wrapped up in the magic of these two falling in love. This will be a book I come back to over and over again when I need a pick me up.
Andy has known for years that his wife, Heather, is a cheater and basically overlooked it as it wasn’t in his face but when he walked in to his wife in bed without another man. He had enough. He files for divorce and is now raising his twin sons on his own.
Christine Jameson runs her own business, Dreamin’ Beans. Andy and Christine are aquainted through his stops at her shop. When he walks in after the turmoil with his wife Christine sees a kindred spirit. She lost her husband to cancer years ago but she’s kept a very guarded secret that allows her to relate to what Andy is going through. She also knows what it’s like to be a raise a child on her own.
Andy and Christine become good friends as they can relate on some many things that each other has gone through/going through. Their relationship builds slowly into something deeper.
The only thing I can say about Heather is she is a piece of work. Having experienced what Andy is going through this book had me on an emotional roller coaster. I loved how Christine dealt with the emotions that Aidan and Reece go through.
When it looks like they are finally going to have a happily ever after their past comes back to threaten their future.
