Continue your love affair with the Thompson family in this hot and hilarious new romantic comedy from New York Times Bestselling author Carey Heywood!Paige Sullivan’s life is a train wreck. In a matter of months she lost her business, her swanky apartment, and her big city life. Now she’s stuck in Nowhere, New Hampshire, sleeping on her mom’s couch. If that wasn’t bad enough, she’s forced to do … enough, she’s forced to do odd jobs for money. She has a plan though, and once she’s saved enough, she’s out of there. That is, as long as she doesn’t murder her sexy new employer first.
Asher Thompson is the ruggedly handsome hermit of the Thompson clan. Tall, ridiculously sexy despite his beard, and annoyingly aloof, his main concern is his privacy. He fills his days with his work as a carpenter and the peaceful solitude of his lake house. A peaceful solitude that vanished the moment Paige Sullivan stormed into his life, hell-bent on driving him crazy.
The problem is, opposites attract and each time they cross paths she works her way further under his skin.

I’m really enjoying this series by Carey Heywood. The story lines are fresh and sweet with just enough adult content to keep it interesting but not over the top.
The characters are engaging and easy to fall in love with – making you cheer for their Happy Ever After at the end.
Can’t wait to jump into the next book in the series. You should add this fun easy read to your book collection to keep you entertained on a long weekend.
Happy Reading…enjoy!
FIX ME NOT is a standalone read with a HEA. Asher is a very solitary man, he is a definite introvert but his family doesn’t seem to recognize that. He lives off the grid in the house, shop and cabin that he built himself. He is a very talented carpenter. Besides family his only outside contact is Millie his housekeeper. She keeps his house clean, buys his groceries and collects his mail from town. She has a fall and breaks her leg so she is out of commission for 6 weeks. Her grown daughter Paige takes over her duties.
Paige is the most obnoxious, bitter, rude, hateful, snarky, snobbish witch you could ever meet. She was living in New York running a very successful event planning business. She had it all, fancy apartment, clothes, eats at the best restaurants, frequents the upscale bars, dates successful “suits”. She is living the good life. She gets so caught up in her success that she forgets to pay attention to the details of her business and trusts the wrong people. Her employee cheats her out of money leaving her with debts to pay, no bank account, apartment, fancy living. She returns home with her tail tucked between her legs.
Now she has to earn enough money to get back on her feet and leave this small nothing town. She meets Asher and they clash from the very beginning. She is hateful and rude to him and then has problems understanding why he isn’t falling at her feet. This is a good story as these two come to find a HEA. Eventually you come to like the heroine so don’t give up on her. It is a good read, entertaining and fun. I really enjoyed Asher’s story and I definitely recommend it.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion nothing more, nothing less. 9/23/18
Cute enemies to lovers romance. Paige was a high end event planner in New York. She was so busy building her business, she didn’t notice that her business partner was stealing from her. She has now lost her business and is licking her wounds on her mother sofa in New Hampshire. Asher is a reclusive carpenter, who is apparently the hottest man around and severely uncomfortable with the attention that brings. Paige’s mother works as Asher’s housekeeper and breaks her leg. Paige and Asher meet at the hospital, and it was hate at first sight. Paige’s mother insists that she take over her duties with Asher. Paige does so she can earn money to start over somewhere else. While there is tremendous animosity between them initially, both characters eventually realize that they made incorrect assumptions about the other and the relationship starts to bloom.

“I’m Jerry. I’d be happy to show you around.” Hope bats his hand away and looks at me. “Trust me. Only place this one will show you is his parents’ basement.”
His eyes soften and I wonder if the shade of them is like a Snickers bar or a shade lighter, like a Kit Kat. Either way, my mouth waters and I’m craving something other than chocolate.
You need to date her, and then marry her, and then have babies with her… If they get your build and her coloring they’d look like baby Thors.
He tastes like cinnamon and smells like freshly cut cedar. If I ever stop kissing him, it will be to shove my face into the crook of his neck and inhale. That is, if I ever stop kissing him which isn’t likely. Besides, my ovaries are currently needlepointing Paige and Asher. That sounds innocent, but the needlepoint image beneath it most definitely is not.
Is there a female equivalent to blue balls? Maybe woeful vagina, or dismal cooter? Either way, I have the worst case of blue lady balls ever.
It’s weird how comfortable I am with him…I’m not saying I’d fart loudly in front of him, that may never happen. Or, I might need to talk him into getting a dog, because dogs are awesome, and I will totally blame a fart on a dog. It’s one of the countless reasons they’re man’s best friend. Blame a fart on a cat and it would probably cut you in your sleep.
My Review:
I am a new convert to the cult of Carey Heywood, this is the second book of hers I’ve read and I want to stop time and read everything she has ever written. Both books in this series have been refreshing, amusing, engaging, and just adorable. I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy Paige initially, she seemed bitter and surly, but there was a reason for that and I grew to admire and care for her as much as I adored the gentle giant/semi-reclusive Asher. The sweet couple of Finley and Noah frequently pop up and provide comic relief, as do most of the Thompson clan. I cannot wait to see what the crafty and clever Ms. Heywood does with the rest of the siblings.
More romance for the Thompson clan, and this time it’s all about the reclusive Asher. Paige and Asher don’t exactly hit it off at first, giving this one almost an enemies to lovers feel. The quips and barbs they throw at each other kept me amused and laughing and even then, the chemistry between them is almost palpable. Asher is such a great character. He’s the strong, silent type, but doesn’t have a problem saying what needs said, and for a man who avoids people, he’s nothing short of charming with Paige. This close-knit family has won me over in a big way and this one was impossible to put down. I absolutely love that the author takes her time, letting a reader get to know the characters as their romance builds. The angst is a little higher in this one than the first book, but it’s still not over done, keeping the story light-hearted and fun.
Fix Me Not by Carey Heywood is the second book in her series, The Fix . Told in dual POV, this is a well crafted romantic tale of a reclusive man and the outgoing woman who complements him more than either expected.
Asher Thomspon likes his space and his privacy. Outside of that space the press of people and need for conversation becomes overwhelming. His family understands this about him and push him out of his comfort zone when needed but are also content to let him be who he is. After his housekeeper has an accident and can no longer work for him for the next couple of months she sends her daughter in her place to make sure he is taking care of himself. Paige is the furthest thing Asher expected, in more ways than one.
Paige has always detested hearing her mother talk about Asher. Honestly, she is jealous. Her mother cares so much about “Asher” and could give two hoots about Paige. But this trip home is NOT about that. It is about getting back on her feet and making a come back. It doesn’t matter that her vent planning business went belly up. She knows what went wrong and is going to work night and day to save the money to start over. Perhaps in Texas… Definitely NOT in New Hampshire. When her mother convinces her to help Asher while she herself is unable they do NOT get along, and that is the nicest way to put it. But things change and so does the chemistry between these two unlikely characters
The wonderful writing behind Paige and Asher’s romance allows them to spark and fizzle, falter and try again. Giving you their awkward moments as much as their smoking hawt moments. Well paced and well written, I absolutely enjoyed this story and cannot wait for more of these Thompson siblings. Up next: Fix My Fall. Enjoy!
