A warlord killed Caledonia’s parents and kidnapped her brother. Now, on the deadly Bullet seas, Captain Caledonia Styx and her all-female crew are ready for revenge. “This is Mad Max by way of Davy Jones, a high-energy, breathless adventure [about] a group of damaged girls who find home in one another.” –Booklist“The pace of the book is fast and relentless, and the action sequences tense and … relentless, and the action sequences tense and believable, but the best moments are the ones in which the female relationships shine.” –NPR
“One of the most spell-binding adventures of the year. This is female piracy at its best.” —The San Francisco Chronicle
“The best kind of fantasy. . . . impossible to put down.” –Paste
After her family is killed by corrupt warlord Aric Athair and his bloodthirsty army of Bullets, Caledonia Styx is left to chart her own course on the dangerous and deadly seas. She captains her ship, the Mors Navis, with a crew of girls and women just like her, who have lost their families and homes because of Aric and his men. The crew has one mission: stay alive, and take down Aric’s armed and armored fleet.
But when Caledonia’s best friend and second-in-command barely survives an attack thanks to help from a Bullet looking to defect, Caledonia finds herself questioning whether to let him join their crew. Is this boy the key to taking down Aric Athair once and for all…or will he threaten everything the women of the Mors Navis have worked for?
The first in a heart-stopping trilogy that recalls the undeniable feminine power of Wonder Woman and the powder-keg action of Mad Max: Fury Road, Seafire reminds us of the importance of sisterhood and unity in the face of oppression and tyranny.

When I saw this book described as “Mad Max by way of Davy Jones”, and that it was about an all-female rebel crew, I knew I had to read it! Seafire did not disappoint — full of cool world building details (solar-powered sails! ships with electrified hulls!), tense action scenes, fierce young women, and tender moments between friends, this was so much fun to read. Looking forward to book two coming out later this year!
A gutsy tale of sisterhood, courage, and unshakeable trust. You don’t want to miss this book! in’
A stunning and powerful book about choosing to fight in the face of vicious odds. Seafire will stay with you long after you finish reading.
I remember when I first got it that I was so excited to read it. It is the perfect post-apocalyptic world and it feels like what happens could really happen. Each character is so unique and mind-blowingly amazing. I read this entire book in a span of a few days because it is written so well. Having an all female crew as the main cast of characters must have been a leap of faith to do, but it sure paid off. Those girls inspire me and make me feel as thought I can help this broken world we live in.
I loved Seafire by Natalie C Parker so much – strong-girl characters who are the only ones who rebel against an oppressive drug lord who kidnaps kids, gets them addicted to bale flower, and forces them to kill and kidnap for him. The main character Caledonia is especially well rounded and full of depth; even when you want to scream at her for her behaviour you can understand it because of her past. Natalie made me care about the characters and what happens to them. I also loved the solar tech and self-healing tech, and the ways each land was different. This is a well-written, gripping, thoroughly enjoyable book.
When i stared this book I couldn’t put it down. I wanted to find out what was going to happen at the end
This book had a very vivid setting and a great hook — a female pirate and her all-girl crew. It didn’t quite hit five stars for me, but I’m recommending it anyway because book two was a definite five-star book. Both are well worth the read!
It’s got action and a very good cliff hanger.
I’m having trouble with the characters, they are all teenage angst but not much else. There is friendship, but the depth of the characters is not developed. The storyline and the action are quite good. It’s fast paced.
Never underestimate a ship full of kickass female pirates who love and respect one another.
Caledonia is angry. With herself. With the powerful man whose army killed her whole family. With the world for being so unfair.
She and her best friend sail the seas on their ship filled with a collection of all-female pirates I’d describe as women with the strength and training of those raised in Wonder Woman’s home of Themyscira, but with uglier pasts that fuel their desire for a better life. They’ve experienced trauma, but still have the capacity for love, sisterhood, and hope.
They’re all also willing to do whatever they can to destroy the life and power of the man holding their world in fear’s clutches, taking out Aric’s income source, army, and ammunition one ship at a time.
Then two things happen:
First, a young man saves the life of Caledonia’s best friend/second-in-command. He is a member of Aric’s army so her rule is instant death, but her friend implores her to keep him on board until he can be safely dumped near land, instead. A life for a life.
Next, she discovers that her and her friend’s brothers survived their ship’s attack years ago, and their new prisoner is the key to getting them back.
I’ve only recently discovered the pure joy that is pirate books told in a female voice. This one is an absolute gem. The action is intense, descriptions vivid, and emotional conflicts understandable.
The book isn’t just about revenge and the task of finding their brothers. It is about the complexity of being human. Overcoming trauma without losing oneself. Learning to trust. Acceptance of the past, and who we are today because of it.
This book played like a blockbuster movie in my brain, and the ending had me wanting to write an angry letter to the publisher insisting they move up the release date of the next in the series. It is emotional, fast-paced, and feels distinctly feminist. Get it in your hands right now.

Fun, action-packed, and some fantastic friendships are in store for you with SEAFIRE. You know a book is addicting when you’re slightly pissed you have to wait for the sequel!
In these turbulent times, Seafire gives teens just what they need: A reminder that with unity and courage, they can rise up and ultimately change the world.
Absolutely enthralling. Seafire is a relentless adventure about friendship and found family, trust and betrayal, and a vow for vengeance as unstoppable as the sea.
A brilliant story that shows the strength and bravery of girls against the world. Natalie C. Parker has given me a book I wish I’d had when I was younger.
Mastering high seas, high stakes, and high emotions, Natalie Parker gives us a whole host of girls who get the job done and kicks off an adventure to remember.
Parker has crafted a thrilling, empowering tale of doing what is right, not what is easy. Any reader who’s dreamed of the high seas, adventure, and freedom will be clamoring to join the crew of the Mors Navis. An emotional and pulse-pounding read.
Didn’t want to Ge to the end!! Can’t wait for the next in the series.
As smart, ferocious, and uncompromising as its crew, Seafire is the adventure you’re looking for. I have such a crush on this book!
