“Clegg’s stories can chill the spine so effectively that the reader should keep paramedics on standby.”– Dean Koontz
“Combining both the quiet horror of a Charles Grant with the all-out spectacles of a Stephen King, Clegg’s storytelling has never been better. The Halloween Man is a brilliant novel, up there with the best of Straub, King, and Koontz, and one of the most original tales of terror to come along in quite a while.” – Edward Lee
“The Halloween Man is one of the best horror novels that I’ve read in years…I had never read anything by Clegg before reading this novel, but now I’m going to go out and get the rest of his books. If you’ve never heard of Clegg either, or are a fan of horror fiction, get this book right now.” – Pixel Planet
“Clegg gets high marks on the terror scale…” – The Daily News (New York)
“Every bit as good as the best works of Stephen King, Peter Straub, or Dan Simmons…” – Hellnotes: The Newsletter for the Horror Professional

I easily give this 5 stars even though the ending was not what I really wanted. This is the perfect October/Halloween book. I devoured it!
Scary stories go between great read and to predictable. This was right in the middle, I enjoyed it. Very good read, one to give you the creeps. Turn lights down and get ready to jump at every noise outside.
Good ending after a fairly complicated plot.
Great fun …if you like being taken on a roller coaster ride with shocking twists and riveting CREEPY turns!
Delightfully frightening, as are all his books
I have never felt so conflicted about a book. Parts of this book were excellent (eg the character Stony) but I had to force myself to read other parts. It seemed disjointed and did not flow well….
I got the whole idea that the writer wanted the story line to be intense with psychotic mind reading if what it looks like is a kidnapper. In the mind of this psychotic man name Stony, I felt that he should not be able to use biblical quotes to justify anything. I believe that Stony should only use illogical beliefs to justify his actions.Like for …
This book wasn’t something that appealed to me at all. Too graphically bloody. I skimmed two thirds to make sure I wasn’t giving up too soon and felt I made the right decision to move on. I was hoping for a fun Halloween romp. This was not it!
Lost interest after three chapters
This book was barely readable. It certainly wasn’t a horror story. I’m ashamed of the authors who endorsed this drivel. Anything for a buck, right guys?
Poorly edited. Could have been a much better read
This book was not what I expected. Not scary at all. I don’t feel it was even spooky.
