ATTENTION: This is book two of a trilogy. If you have not read the first book, Thirty Days of Pain, please read no further and get book one to read first. Otherwise read on for my review of book 2, Thirty Days of Shame.
This book picks up just after book one and it finds Willow, her Aunt Anastasia, her niece Helenka and her nephew Yuri hiding out in an apartment in Columbus Ohio. Willow is working at a diner and her aunt is taking some on-line computer classes. While at work her boss asks her to take the trash out, which is an odd request because that’s the busboy’s job and he is not busy. So when she questions her boss about it he starts acting weird and tells her if she doesn’t take the trash out she’s fired. So since she feels like something is wrong she quits and as she’s leaving she runs into Feodyr. Nothing good can come from him being there and now she has to worry if she’ll make it out alive and if Anastasia and the kids will do as she said and run without her. She escapes Feodyr, only to be found by Sergei again. They strike a deal and she ends up back at his house along with her aunt, niece and nephew. Lies, secrets and betrayals are abundant in this story, Willow is just trying to survive and get her family free. This is a great second book and it leaves you gutted and heartbroken with a cliffhanger at the end. Don’t let that deter you from reading this book because it is an awesome story and I am dying to read book three in this epic trilogy. Definitely a must read trilogy for all the dark romance lovers out there.
Sergei and Willow cannot stay away from each other, they are so drawn to each other, but they don’t want to admit it or the reasons behind it. This is a dark, twisted and delicious romance. It is very emotional all the way around and will have you in a mess as you continue to read the story. But it is so worth the read. Can they be stronger for each other? I received an ARC of this book from the author and Hidden Gems.
Thirty days
This is book two of the trilogy – And yes it ends on a cliffhanger – not a major one but enough of “Wait- What- but How” that you may be slightly tempted to throw a small tantrum
Like book one this is a psychological thriller with very dark undertones – as I tend to say regularly this is for those who like to play on the dark side – not for beginners just dipping into the pool. If you decide to come in remember you were warned so no moaning about getting all wet~!
Talbot brought a lot more “technicolor” and strength to many of the supporting characters from book one – I really like Helinka – kids a handful of dynamite – and Anastassia is possibly a force to be reckoned with or needs to be strung up – not really sure how I feel about her yet
The ride is getting rougher as we go further into the twisted mind of Sergei – He is still enamored with his toy -while at the same time he recognizes how quickly he can break it- during this book I did find myself leaning toward him a bit – he may be demented and a bit (okay seriously) dark but you have to give him props – he is smart and knows how to foresee possibly “hiccups” in his plan
Old enemies and new surprises lie in wait around every corner
keeping you on edge and wondering where the next blow will come from
Holy crap. I freaking love and hate these books!!! Do NOT read Thirty Days of Shame without reading Thirty Days of Pain!!
I love Sergei, I hate him, I feel so bad for him and what shaped him to be the way he is now. He’s alpha, he’s deadly, he protects at all costs. He’s an a-hole, a sadist, he’s an unfeeling monster. I cannot get enough of him!
Willow. Strongest and weakest woman I have had the pleasure of reading. Her heart will get her killed but does she ever have the will power to get through anything!
Book 3 cannot come out soon enough!!!
