FIRE AND ICE. What happens when you meet the right person, at the wrong time?
Danish real estate scion, Soren Lund, has never been a risk-taker. MBA school was simply the next step on his path as heir apparent. When he gets into the best business school in Europe, he goes, despite the fact that it’s in passionate, unpredictable Barcelona. All is going according to plan – until a fiery … to plan – until a fiery Californian shoots into his life like a comet, knocking him off course.
Spitfire Angela Holguín lives her life amassing stories for her future rocking chair days. When the opportunity to be an exchange student for a semester in exciting Barcelona comes around, she jumps at the chance. Her goal: a grand romance. She sets her sights on the brooding Dane, but Mr. Buttoned-Up misses his chance when a dashing Scot swoops in.
A year later, the Scot invites Angela to visit him in London where he’s doing his summer internship. Looking for some inspiration for the children’s book she’s now writing, she happily agrees. The cosmic twist? Soren is there too, and this time, he’ll do anything to win her over.

I really enjoyed this book. This was a really well-written debut novel. The storyline flowed really well and the characters were done fantastically. It kept me interested from start to finish. I loved the relationships between the characters and there was also a good chemistry between them. The world building was incredible and the author seems to have done their research well. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Can I just say this is my first book by Aviva Vaughn, and I am hooked by the way, but I absolutely love the way she can develop strong and vibrant characters. I knew it would be a perfect fit for me once I read the authors profile. Hello… she writes in the style of Jane Austin! And you can totally see that she can take a character and mold them to the type of characters that you would see in your favorite Jane Austin books.
This is the first book in the From London with Love series, and it’s an amazing start to what I am positive will be a wonderful series that will capture a lot of women readers and their attention.
In this book we watch the travels and adventures of Angela Houlgian and Soren Lund unfold. I felt as if I was on the journey with them and loved every minute of it.
When they tried a hand at romance together the first time things just didn’t work out for the two. Both were at different points in their lives, but now fate want to give them a second chance to spark the romance between the two. The romance between them becomes a slow burn and one that will leave you cheering for them to find a happy ending together. Of course there is some obstacles they will have to overcome together in their travels. What will happen when Angela’s ex pops back into the picture for a bit? Will their whirlwind romance survive the stress that can put on a new romance?
If you like to read about faraway places, amazing food, culture, second chances, and romance, this is the book for you! I can’t wait to sit down and devour the second book.
“Never regret thy fall,
O Icarus of the fearless flight
For the greatest tragedy of them all
Is never to feel the burning light.”
-Oscar Wilde
This is an amazing debut novel from this author. I love the idea of friends meeting at school and then getting together in the case London. While in Barcelona attending school she dates one of her classmates if for nothing else than to have the experience. She has rules. Rules to protect her heart and for everything she does. But Angela has a plan. She wants to have experiences for the rocking chair (loved this). It’s a great read and the author makes sure we enjoy everything about the places she takes us from school in Barcelona to visiting in London the following summer. The imagery of places and food are done so well you can almost taste the spices and culture, smell the roses as they wither. Love this read and can’t wait to see what’s in store for book 2. Hopefully I will loose the desire to reach out and correct one of them.
Beckoned, Part 1: From London with Love by: Aviva Vaughn is a love story that keeps you on the edge of you seat. I couldn’t put it down when I started it. I needed to know what happened. The characters and the story made me feel like I was a part of the story with them. This is the first book I have read by this author and cant air to read the next books in the story. I give this book 5 stars.
Beckoned part 1 From London with Love by Aviva Vaughn
Four Stars
This is my first book by this author and it wasn’t bad. I didn’t know what to expect and was surprised by the characters. Angela is a free spirit she loves dancing, food, travel and men. She gave me that I know who I am and I will use what I have to get what I want vibe. She wasn’t a bad character but she was a little confusing at moments. Did she want to be treated like a lady with respect and care or did she prefer to be lied and cheated on? I understand how she was overwhelmed by Soren. When your not used to men giving your every need priority you don’t know what to do or how to feel.
Beckoned: From London with Love by Aviva Vaughn was a great start to this 4-part series. Angela and Soren have an instant connection while both were studying in Barcelona but with each waiting for the other to make a move, they missed their chance. Months later Angela takes a trip to London and meets up with Soren. Both take this opportunity to finally tell each other how they feel. But there might be a little problem – Angela has a so-call boyfriend.
I loved the diverseness of the characters in this book and that the writer wrote exactly how they would talk. Those makeout scenes and the flirting were swoon-worthy!! Can’t wait to read the next book and get more of this couple.
