“Because tales of the house should not – could not – be told in brightness.”
This took me back to a time when great classic horror movies about haunted houses were being made. The Haunted could easily fit into those times. I have always been a fan of the dark side of story telling. Even if I had to cover my head in fright! This sent chills up my …
I don’t know what kind of mind could conjure up this story – unless you’ve read other books by Mr Collings that is! It begins scary and just never stops! If you are looking for horror then look no further – it’s all (and I mean all) in here! One hell of a ride! (or read – whatever) I am in awe at his mastery of the horror genre but also at his …
This book really got into my head. I am used to reading stories of hauntings, serial killers, and other scary stories. This one made me pull the drapes and go up to bed so I could read right next to my husband! Don’t read it in an empty house!
I haven’t been scared by a house since Shirley Jackson wrote The Haunting of Hill House and it hasn’t been for lack of looking! Well done!
I loved this book. It was original and had a great surprise ending. Kept me enthralled from page one to the last page. Highly recommend it.

The story has a slow build as you meet the characters, though there are only two, …
I didn’t want to even finish this book, it was like crawling thru sludge! I never gave a 1 star review but this was just plain bad.
This book outlines one scary moment after another, but somehow did not manage to build suspense. I was disappointed. The ending was confusing also.
I’ve read a couple of books by this author prior to reading this one and I just honestly was not impressed with this one like I was with Apparition. It was strange and not in a good way. The writing was awkward and we don’t receive much of a backstory on the couple so you don’t really grow attached to them or in the end really care what happens to …
I found this book confusing from the beginning to the end. Not one of my favorites.
