A sexy new forbidden romance from #1 NYT Bestselling Author Lauren Blakely about a sports star and the woman who’s off limits…It should have been a simple play… And oh hell, did Jillian ever drag her nails down my back on one hell of a hot night. Okay fine, it was several hot nights on the road.
Now we’re back in town and it’s time to set the play clock back to when we were simply player and publicist. Given the way the last few years have gone, I can’t risk this deal, so it’s hands off for us once again. Trouble is, I want more than than just another night with her.
What’s a guy to do when he’s always been most likely to score, but the woman he’s falling for is just out of bounds?

I don’t date players. And I definitely don’t sleep with players. And I absolutely don’t fall for a certain player when I get to know him and learn he’s more than just sexy — he’s clever, funny and has a heart as big as his . .. well, you get my drift.
But my job is at stake, and I can’t afford to lose that as well as my heart. The problem is, I think I’ve already lost that game.
What’s a girl to do when the clock is running out, but the man she’s falling for is off limits?

Wow. I have a weakness for a good football romance; they’re kind of my kryptonite. Combined with the writing of Lauren Blakely? I’m toast. Most Likely To Score combines some of my very favorite things in one place football, sexiness, sweetness and humor. If you’re looking for a hot, sexy, forbidden romance look no further than Most Likely To Score!
I love when Lauren Blakely writes in dual POV! Yes, she writes hot, funny and swoonworthy men amazingly well (ok, who are we kidding? She’s the queen of male POV romances, hands down) but she also writes sharp, smart, sexy women just as well. For me, having Jillian’s POV in this book was like the extra point after a touchdown to win the Super Bowl…or the icing on the cake.
Jillian was so much fun to learn about. I loved her focus on her work, her passion for it. She’s definitely smart and determined to pave her way in life. Was she attracted to Jones? Absolutely. Was she resolved not to do anything about said attraction? Yes. So I loved getting to see her off kilter just a bit with her feelings when she was with him. All the little things that made Jillian tick-from pomelos to cherry earrings-were interesting to read about. This is a character I’d be friends with…and not just because she has a connection to a football team.
Jones seems like such a stereotypical football player on the surface…for all of two seconds. There’s so much more to this man. He’s funny, smart, sweet and sexy. Holy hell is he sexy! He has a strong work ethic, is a family oriented man and did I mention he was sexy? He has such determination and heart-you can’t help but fall in love with him. He is absolutely one of my favorite Blakely book boyfriends.
The attraction these two have for each other is palpable right from the start of this book. Their banter suits them both to a T and had me grinning. I was biting my lip as the tension rose between them. Their first kiss? Off the charts hot. I was glad to have a backup kindle because the sexy times between these two definitely melted my first one.
That being said, there’s so much more than just great sex between these two-it’s seeing all the other aspects of their relationship and lives that make this book special. This is something that this author excels at; allowing readers to see more of a couple than just their bedroom compatibility. Seeing what makes these two who they are and who they can help each other be is truly special. I liked that they got to see different sides of each other and that they truly GOT who the other person was. Their views on luck were mentioned more than once and really got me thinking. These two are definitely lucky in the love department 🙂
The supporting characters here were fun to read about. They add to the story and support Jones and Jillian without overwhelming them. I loved Jones’s family (and could relate to them a bit) and I absolutely adored Jillian’s backstory. There’s little references to characters in other books-which I always love finding-but again, nothing that takes away from Jones and Jillian.
The pacing of this book was spot on. The plot was unique and believable. The writing was fun, sweet and sexy. Lauren Blakely always writes with heart, heat and humor and Most Likely To Score definitely has all of those. This is a book I will go back and read again. I highly recommend it and would give it more than 5 stars if I could.
*4 Stars*
ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
As always with Lauren’s books, I enjoyed this one and sped through it in about 24 hours.
I liked both main characters, Jones and Jillian, and watching their story unfold was fun. There were funny bits and serious bits. Particularly since behind it all their is the fear and issue of their relationship and jobs being too close and being in jeopardy.
The story flows well and I particularly liked the bits with the animals and the kids. It added a really sweet quality.
Also the secondary characters were great and I feel a story coming on for Harlan and Katie.
Overall a fast and fun read. Would recommend.
MOST LIKELY TO SCORE by Lauren Blakely is a contemporary, adult, stand alone, erotic, romance sports story line focusing NFL wide receiver Jones Beckett, and San Francisco Renegade PR director Jillian Moore.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Jillian and Jones) MOST LIKELY TO SCORE follows the forbidden relationship between San Francisco Renegade’s wide receiver, and manwh*re Jones Beckett, and the team’s PR director Jillian Moore. For months Jillian and Jones have been dancing around one another, the sexual attraction palpable and edgy but with Jones’ reputation drowning in off-field one-night stands Jillian Moore is called in to clean up his notoriety and fame in the public eye. What ensues is the building love and romance between Jillian and Jones, and the potential fall-out when their relationship is revealed to the people in charge.
Jillian Moore has had a crush on Jones Beckett for as long as she could remember but his reputation with the ladies precedes his introduction to the woman with whom he is falling in love. Believing Jones is out of her league, Jillian struggles with her attraction to the man with whom she begins a close, personal relationship.
The relationship between Jillian and Jones is one of immediate attraction; a forbidden love between two San Francisco Renegade employees but a love that grows stronger as their relationship climbs. The $ex scenes are intimate, seductive and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Jones’ Renegade teammates, front office personnel, media reporters, sponsors, agents and numerous fans. We are introduced to Jillian’s best friend Kate, as well as her father Aaron Moore; and Jones’ brothers Trevor.
The world building follows the relationship between our leading couple, as well as the public relations nightmare of a PR director as it pertains to a star athlete. The story line conflict is minimal as most of the issues are part of a preconceived notion about other people’s reaction to co-workers dating on the job.
MOST LIKELY TO SCORE is a sweet, sexy and entertaining story line. The premise is
Inviting and engaging; the characters are charismatic and energetic; the romance is enthusiastic and captivating.
Most Likely to Score is another brilliant love story from Lauren Blakely. Every single book is better than the last!
I adored Jones, the professional football player and Jillian, a coworker that he has no business lusting after. I really enjoyed the journey this story took us on. Adoption, rescue animals, a forbidden romance and football, what could be better??
Everything about this book was perfection. The dual POV lets us all in on the fact that both Jones and Jillian have felt the same about each other for a long time yet remained completely professional. Until they didn’t. You know LB can write a sex scene like no other and I’m very happy to report that this book was no different than any of her other books. Hot damn!!
I loved every single moment of Most Likely to Score and highly recommend it. I cannot wait to see what Lauren has in store for us next!!
Most Likely To Score is the new stand-alone from Lauren Blakely and this is Jillian Moore and Jones Beckett’s story, this couple should be off limits to one another because she is the PR director at The Renegades and he is the super star wide receiver, but it’s hard to resist chemistry when it’s sizzling hot. Jones Beckett needs to dispel his womaniser reputation and is in desperate need of help not only from his new agent but also from the PR director. Work should be the only thing on their minds but the more time they spend together and the more they get to know each other the more they want . A few days away on a calendar shoot puts too much temptation in their way and they end up with a hot passionate night of fun, this is supposed to be a one night one time only affair but can they really go back to work mates and friends after showing their true feelings for each other.
This author has a way of taking you on her couples journeys, she lets you get to know the good and the bad and as they learn about each other so do you. This story was perfect it has just the right mix of love and angst and as always this author gives us another scene stealing animal that you will surely fall in love with. I loved how the Chinese heritage was introduced in this book and I’m guessing this is something that is very close to Lauren Blakely’s heart. Yet another 5 star read from a great author.
I really, truly loved this story about NFL Renegades star player, Jones Beckett and the team publicist, Jillian Moore. Jones has been secretly attracted to Jillian ever since he first laid eyes on her when he started playing with the Renegades, but she acted unimpressed and disinterested. Nothing came of his interest and he moved on to other women, quickly earning himself a reputation as a good-time guy and a player, but Jillian always held a place in his heart even when he didn’t know it himself.
Jillian had noticed Jones when he first came to the Renegades, her attraction to him was kept under wraps as she didn’t want it to interfere with her job. She takes her work seriously and is always trying to find ways to make the team look good. She wants to do a calendar shoot for animal charities and her boss suggest that Jones would be the perfect model.
Being forced to work together finally gives them the chance to get to know one another properly and as time passess, Jillian realizes she was wrong about Jones. Yes, he’s a lady-killer, and a huge flirt, but he also has a huge heart a well as those BIG hands.
I really adored all things Jones. He was sexy as sin, but fun and flirty too, it’s no wonder Jillian finds him so tempting. So, when she gives in, she is all in. Heart and soul.
There isn’t a tremendous amount of angst in this story, it just all boiled down to belief and conviction. Of knowing what you to do over what you should do.
I’m looking forward to maybe getting some more stories from this series. Harlan needs one for sure. Trevor too.
I thoroughly recommend this book to Lauren Blakely fans, new and old.
It’s a man’s world, but it don’t mean nothing without a good woman. James Brown had it right. No truer words have ever been said. Lauren Blakely lays out the full package with Most Likely to Score. When it comes to seduction this author never fumbles. Not only do Jillian and Jones score in the romance department, but they land a touchdown in the most memorable characters category as well. Jillian is a woman with her feet planted firmly on the ground, but her heart resides in the clouds. A secret crush, a difficult career and a playboy client don’t make her life any easier. Jones has his career on the line and his heart at risk. Can he play the most important game of his life without losing it all? The Game is on and the winning point is at hand. Who will be Most Likely to Score?

I loved Jones and Jillian. Absolutely loved them, and their pets, and the rescue animals, the calendar and the kitten.
At this point, writing a review of a Lauren Blakely title and stating that I loved it is, well, a little anticlimactic. We all know I loved it, because she is a fabulous writer who writes the sex, the romance, the characters, the supporting characters, and the scenes perfectly. When you have an author who hits perfection as consistently as Lauren Blakely, you know you are going to love everything you read by her.
So, shockingly, I know, I loved Jones and Jillian’s story. For all the reasons, but because I didn’t want to put it down. Because I pretended to take a nap at my parent’s house over Christmas weekend because I wanted to finish the book. Because I loved the adoption story of Jillian and loved that she is Chinese but it isn’t a “thing” it is just who she is, and she is proud of it. I loved the writing, the flow of the story, the development of the romance, the relationship with other characters.
I loved this book.
I loved Jones and how hard he struggled to do the right thing, to not risk Jillian’s reputation when all he really wanted was her. And, I laughed with him, and maybe a little at him, when he finally realized how much she really did mean to him.
I recommend this title.
