Aldric
When I saw the little one in our midst, I was drawn to her beauty. She broke our laws and must pay the price, but I will let no harm come to her. She will belong to me, mine to enjoy as I please, and soon she will know the pleasure of surrendering to a warrior’s mastery of her body.
She is headstrong and defiant, but it will be my privilege and honor to tame her.
Publisher’s Note: Aldric: A Sci-Fi Warrior Romance is a stand-alone book which is the first entry in the Heroes of Avalere series. It includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

I enjoyed this story of R-482 aka Carina from Freanoss who arrives on Avalere to spy
on the citizens and report back to those that rule on Freanoss. Aldric spots her in the
“circle” of women he is to choose from and claims her. If he doesn’t speak for her as
his, she will be destroyed and he can’t have that. Aldric names R-482 Carina because
it means little one in Avalere and that is what he was calling her but she resents being
called little one. Aldric keeps trying to teach Carina to obey him, using physical correction
in the form of spankings, whipping with his belt and even tries the back of her hairbrush
but she continues to defy him, almost asking for his correction.
The world Carina comes from was strictly structured, there is no sex, no parents, no family
at all, just coordinating uniform type clothing and suppliments and energy bars for healthy
sustinance. Avalere has food and family and individual freedoms to live a happy life with
their citizens.
Carina is very confused by the lifestyle the people on Avalere live, she wasn’t used to feeling
hunger or pain or even affection. Aldric does his best to help her acclimate to his world, but
they have secrets between them, one being why Carina is on his planet to begin with and the
other is all the lies Carina was taught by her own people that she is discovering are untrue.
Aldric’s sister is being held hostage by the Freanoss people because they want the riches the
Avalere planet has. The potential war between the planets is something they must work on
together to find peace with each other.
I enjoyed the world building and how Aldric really tried to understand Carina and teach her
to acclimate to both him and living such a different life than she was used to.
I also appreciate the HEA ending that I expect from every book I read.
Book #1, Heroes of Avalere. Jane Henry’s tantalizing alternative reality will captivate you from beginning to end!
After the New Dawn, Freanoss and Avalere went their separate ways. Freanoss focused on technology to the exclusion of all else. Individuality and humanity no longer exist. Avalere, on the other hand, maintained only the smallest amounts of technology, focusing instead on the human experience. Obviously the planets are diametrically opposed but neither culture is perfect. When R-482, a female from Freanoss, is charged with spying on the Avalerians to learn why they’ve been stealing materials from Freanoss. she knows it won’t be easy. Access between Freanoss and Avalere is only available through a limited number of portals. As she creeps in to observe Avalerian culture from a distance, she makes a fateful choice that will change her life forever. Aldric is the king of his world. When he sees R-482, he’s so taken by her that he exercises his right as king to take her as his mate. Can anyone say culture shock? R-482 soon learns she has no choices. As Aldric takes her, instructs her with unyielding control, renames her Carina, she soon learns everything she believes may have been based on lies. But why? It makes no sense, and logic is the only truth there is, right? The Avalerians have every reason to deceive and entice her to their way of life. Completely confused and bewildered, not trusting either side, herself, or Aldric, Carina has choices to make. But can she? She only knows what she’s been told. Both sides have reasons for wanting to control her. She’ll have to depend on her deepest instincts, observations, and ultimately her own judgment, to survive. Who’s right…Avalere or Freanoss? What’s she willing to sacrifice to find the truth? Because, ultimately, only the truth will set her free.
Jane Henry’s another favorite author, and this is the first sci-fi story she’s written I’ve had the privilege of reading. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. I felt myself alternately angered, confused, and enthralled by both cultures and each character. R-482 is initially an enigma. How could a human not have a name, only an assigned number? How is it possible for anyone to be ignorant of the basics of humanity? I had a hard time bonding with her at first. But as her ignorance of Avalerian culture and humanity itself throws her into the most terrifying, bewildering experiences of her life, I found her more and more sympathetic. Aldric and the other Avalerians initially seemed harsh, ruthless, completely inflexible. I didn’t much care for their society either. But not all is as it seems. R-482 slowly turns into Carina. It’s not simply a change in her name. Aldric remains stern and immovable but learns there’s more than brute force and uncompromising control. Carina and Aldric are each stubborn, independent, yet ultimately invested in finding the truth. The changes and compromise aren’t instantaneous by any means. There are plenty of struggles, emotions, distrust, even hatred and rage. Uncertainty, hidden agendas, and life-threatening danger abound. But underneath it all, Jane Henry’s written a cautionary tale about the inherent dangers of technology outstripping humanity’s ability to keep up with it and the moral implications thereof. She’s also emphasized the importance of maintaining a human connection but not focusing on that to the exclusion of all else. It’s what’s beneath the surface that motivates these characters. Beyond the characters, the rich diversity, the stark differences, between the two cultures, are riveting. Thank you, Jane Henry, for a unique, imaginative, and thoroughly captivating reading experience. This book deserves nothing less than a five-star rating. It’s truly extraordinary!
One final note. Be an informed reader! This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and sexual scenes. If you don’t enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. DON’T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON’T ENJOY THE BOOK. It’s not fair to the author! She works very hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you’ll object to the book’s subject matter before you buy it, you’re doing yourself and the author an extreme disservice.
Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!
A love that begins in the most complicated situation. The strength and stubbornness that both have is so strong that it takes quite a while for some walls to be broken down. I loved listening to this unfold and the ending was just perfect.
I love Jane Henry’s Doms of Boston series so when I heard she had written a Sci-fi Warrior romance, well, I had to get it and read it. I’m not really one for sci-fi but Aldric sucked me in from the first page. I loved that Carina was a feisty woman with a backbone but I also loved that she eventually learned how to show her emotions and feelings. Aldric was a tough but firm King and gently guided is mate. This was a wonderful love story that I wasn’t expecting and was thrilled to find. Engaging and well written. Now I can’t wait for the next book in this series!!! I want more of Aldric’s warriors stories!!!
I absolutely loved this book.
Fun read. Just starting book 2
Waaaaay to much spanking and punishment. Normally I don’t mind it in a story but this was over the op for me. Didn’t even finish the one.
Annoying heroine and predictable storyline
Very predictable. Writing was competent but this is ultimately a mediocre read.
It’s was just ok.
Good reading
The Warrior KingTakes A Bride
Alpha Alien Master trains his submissive bride. BDSM elements throughout.
When Two humans from vastly different cultures and planets collide, one must defer to the mental and physical strength of the other.
Carina, as she will soon be known, has been sent from her sterile, uniform, climate controlled planet of Freanoss, to spy on the savage, barbaric, people of the planet of Avalere. The Avalere have supposedly been stealing the resources of the Freanoss. Her mission is to get irrefutable proof.
She dresses herself like a young Avalerian woman and mingles with a group of young women, dancing to the beat of heavy drumming. On a dias, overlooking the crowd is a huge dark, bearded, tatted up and heavily muscled man. He is Aldric, the Warrior King!
Carina has arrived in the middle of a mating ceremony for the Warrior King and his warriors. She doesn’t have a clue what is going on, because the Freanossians do not mate, do not kiss, do not love.
The Warrior King stands up and picks her out. When he takes her by the shoulders, she attacks him with a knife, as she has been trained. OOPS! Wrong move!
Now,she has attracted attention to herself, ruining her cover, and gotten the attention of the King himself! The Warrior King says under their law she is to be whipped in public and imprisoned, maybe even executed.
Instead, Alric decides to spank her in public and take her as his mate. He loves her feistiness, and her perfect, untouched, unblemished body.
The WarriorKing is a stern but loving Master! He’s a real top of the line Spankmeister!
Git yer Spurs on, Little Gal!
YEHAW! Ride em Bareback, Cowgirl!
ARC fronted to me by the Author for a Voluntary and Honest Review. Thank you Ms Henry!
I thought about this story a lot and about a person like Carina, who was only a number on her planet, who had no type of relationship with anyone else on her planet. She was a woman who basically lived her whole life in a void, a vacuum, and was drugged in order to control any feelings at all. Coming to Aldric’s planet would have been totally overwhelming for a long time.
Couldn’t put this book down!
This book had excellent potential and a great story to build upon, but the words punishment and obedience are extremely over used. I finished it, but had to keep putting it down and it took a week to finish. I seriously doubt I will read additional offers by this author.
Mated to The Warrior King!
With the release of “Aldric” Jane Henry enters an entirely new genus of writing, showcasing her talents as well as versatility. Professionally written and extremely fast paced “Aldric” features well developed characterizations as well as stellar world building. R-482 (Carina) comes from a stark, sterile egalitarian world without names, family, hunger, sex or love. Collectivist ideology is maintained through authoritarian rule, homogeneous clothing and by drugging the populace into a state of apathetic cohesiveness. Aldric’s world is a complete contrast where individuality, loyalty, freedom and love flourishes. Sent to Aldric’s planet as a spy, R-482 is soon captured by Aldric (the Warrior King) during a mating ceremony and he claims her as his mate. Aldric immediately begins R-482’s acclimation and training, naming her Carina which means “little one” in his culture. Although Aldric’s discipline seems a little harsh at times, it is also obvious to the reader he cares deeply for his “little one”. Carina is bright, intelligent, with a singular focus on her mission and inclined to disobey, creating plot tension as the mystery and intrigue unfolds. The intimate scenes are extremely well written and exceptionally hot. Not simply erotic sci-fi, “Aldric” is also laden with mystery, intrigue and plenty of suspense. The vast differences between planets as well as cultures is brilliant, fueling the unraveling plot twists and turns. In the end “Aldric” is one of the best erotic sci-fi romances currently available.
Simply check out the cover and tell me you wouldn’t want to be mated to the Warrior King!

Jane Henry writes some great love stories with alpha, Dom-ly type men and the women who love them. She sets them everywhere from the Old West to modern Boston to alien planets. Aldric is one of her scifi romance books.
Carina is a woman from Freanoss. She only has a number designation, not even a real name. She’s been sent to Avalere to find out what their plans are since they keep stealing from Freanoss. She doesn’t know much about where she is going, other than they are a bunch of savages and barbarians, which is a far cry from the regimented, controlled, and advanced society where she comes from. When she gets there, Carina joins a group of women, thinking to hide with them. The problem is that the women are about to go before the king and his warriors so that they can choose mates.
Aldric is the Warrior King. He sees a lovely young woman trying to get away from the rest of the women and the circle and he knows that he has to make her his. When he gets to her, he realizes that she’s not a woman of Avalere, so she doesn’t know the rules. That doesn’t mean that he’s not going to punish her though. She needs to obey, so he sets out to train her to obey.
I kind of dislike Aldric part of the time. He knows that Carina isn’t familiar with their laws and their rules, and I think that sometimes he’s a little overly harsh with her. It’s within his character though, and Carina doesn’t appear to overly hate it, so I guess it could be worse, and I don’t completely dislike him even at the times that I kind of dislike him. I do get why he does what he does, but still. Other than that, it’s a great story, well-written, and an interesting premise. It’s really freaking hot too. I mean, have a fan with you and a nice cool drink to bring your temperature back down.
I do enjoy a good alpha alien story. Make him a king with a mate from a planet that is almost the opposite of his and I have the makings for a fun afternoon because well, who needs to work? Not when ALDRIC is sitting on my Kindle.
Likes: Having the POV of both Aldric and Carina made the story that much more entertaining as we alternated between their viewpoints; both of which gave us their internal thoughts as they grappled with their differences. Well, mostly Carina grappled. Aldric was far more ready to rule her body, mind and soul than she was willing to give up control. Except, she already did. Her brain simply hadn’t caught up with her body yet. As always I do enjoy a bit of DD in my stories and these were downright delicious in all the ways that Jane Henry knows how.
If you haven’t read the story yet, give it a go. You’ll like it, you really will.
Sizzling hot D/s Sci-fi Romance
Jane Henry has once again written a 5 alarm super sexy romance. It takes place in a world of her making where progress is making one people less and less human as we know it versus a people they call barbarians who are steeped in a culture where basic human needs and emotions prevail.
R-482 renamed Carina by King Aldric never expected to be discovered by the Aveletians when she comes spying for Freanoss government. She certainly didn’t expect to become mated to their King. But her mission is almost immediately sidelined and she finds herself being trained to be the Queen. This book was packed with Jane Henry’s signature sexy, sensual spanking splendor and a wonderful addition to my library.
I received an Advance Reader copy.
I adore the Boston Doms series, so I was intrigued by a dark Sci-Fi Warrior romance. It is a story about R-482, a Freanossian spy with one goal: assimilate as one of the savages on the foreign planet of Avalere, and report back her findings. She gets caught by the Warrior King Aldric who claims her as his mate.
I loved how Carina discovered simple things like different foods and art. Little things that delight her. And the struggles she has with keeping up with the mission and her growing feelings for Aldric. Aldric is stern and very much in charge and he does whatever he needs to tame Carina, but he has a gentle side to him too. It is definitely an erotic read with a lot of spankings. Personally I would have like a bit more background and details about the different worlds and their cultures.
