5 Stars for “Love on the Cape”
Larkin and Ryker are both stubborn individuals who have to push past their pasts and find out what’s important. I fell in love with these characters and this area with this book and would highly recommend it to others.
Love on the Cape by M. K. Meredith
This is the first book in the author’s Cape Van Buren: On the Cape series and if I could give this book more than 5 Stars I would because it’s fantastic. You’ll laugh, cry, cheer and go through so many emotions just reading about Larkin Sinclair and Ryker Van Buren and their journey of healing both of them so they could fins a future together. Because as the author says: “The answer to life’s puzzle is Love”.
Larkin Sinclair loves the Cape house because she could connect to her son, Archer, who was killed in a car accident. What she doesn’t know is that Archer is everywhere even though he’s gone so when she finds out that Ryker has bought his grandmother’s house and wants to develop in she’ll do anything to stop the project. He wants to erases his childhood abuse by his dad and it will take a wishing well accident to finally understand that he has moved beyond the pain he endured. Plus will he stop the project and decide to bring joy to those going through grief of a lost loved one.
Bring tissues because you’ll need them for both laughing with the North Shore Cape ladies especially Maxine and her moonshine and when Larkin reaches out to Claire who lost her fiance at the same time as Archer and Larkin’s husband John. I can’t wait to read the next book!
A story about two damaged people – one living and holding onto the past, the other struggling to forget the past. The F word is used frequently and the primary reason I didn’t give the book a five star. If you get past the F word, the story is good and well written.
Love on the Cape (On the Cape, Cape Van Buren, #1) by M.K. Meredith
This is Larkin Sinclair and Ryker Van Buren’s story.
Larkin is still grieving the loss of her son. The historic Cape Van Buren spot is a special place where Larkin goes to feel close to her son. She discovers that Ryker Van Buren is the rightful owner and is in the planning stages to develop this area. This area may be a special place for Larkin but it only holds bad memories for Ryker.
Ryker and Larkin are attracted to each other. Larkin will do whatever she can to prevent him from developing this area. Ryker and Larkin each have emotional things in their life that they have not fully dealt with. Will they be able to join sides to take a chance on love?
I loved “Love on the Cape”! The author has a way of pulling the reader in and feeling like the characters are your friends. This is an emotional, sweet, and steamy romance of two people that are hurting but have a second chance at happiness and love. A must read! I devoured this book. M.K. Meredith outdid herself again.
FYI, contains mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
