It’s fake, but it feels so good.Oliver Steele is supposed to be my knight in shining armor. He’s tall, handsome, and as cocky as he is rich. With his good looks and charm, no one’s going to suspect a thing. No one’s going to believe our engagement is fake. But he’s taking this thing way too far. The way he wraps his arm around me like I’m his. The way he kisses me and presses his hard body up … kisses me and presses his hard body up against mine. I almost believe that it’s real. Almost.
He’s doing it on purpose now; he loves that this is getting to me.
Two can play his game, though. I won’t let him win. By the time our week together is done, I’ll leave Oliver on his knees and begging.
But the minute we’re alone in the bedroom, I know I’m in over way my head. When he undresses me with his eyes, I realize I lost before the game even started. It’s only a matter of time before I lose myself in his touch and let him do whatever he wants to me.
I know what I want, but I can’t tell what’s real anymore.
Mr. Fiance is a full-length Romance with an HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger!more
I really enjoyed this story. The characters were funny and alluring. I love a good laugh with my books. A very steamy story line with great scenes you never want to miss.
I’ve been on a Lauren Landish binge-fest the past few days, trying my damndest to devour her Irresistible Bachelors series, and wow, this one made me both cry and shake the hell out of Mindy and Oliver for almost giving up on a HEA! So, yes, I give this five stars–‘coz as usual Lauren Landish made me unable to pause the story enough to get a good night’s sleep, it was that good!
I couldn’t wait to read Mindy’s story and I was not disappointed. Mindy & Oliver were never suppose to feel anything for each other, it was suppose to be a fake engagement but spending time together changed everything but when Mindy can’t handle lying to her family and hurtful words are exchange and they go there separate ways, they both regret it. What Mindy & Oliver have is something special and you can feel all the emotions that these characters go through. An amazing story that will have you not wanting to put your kindle down.
A cute, witty, and charming journey to go on with Oliver and Mindy. I enjoyed the fun banter, and amazing chemistry between them. Mindy’s grandma and Roxy were a wonderful addition. This book was definitely entertaining.
KU. I’m not sure this book is really 3.5 stars or if it’s partly that it’s so much better than the first one. Interestingly, the first one had many of the same elements, but it was much more cohesive here. It’s annoyingly insta-Love. Again. At least this time our MC’s have some conversations and time together to support the feelings we’re told they have. But, it’s insta-love. Again. So I just can’t give it a full 4 stars.
Mindy (Bri’s bestie from book 1) is looking for a fake fiancé to take to her mom’s wedding. Oliver loses a bet to Gavin (Bri’s hubby and the other MC in Book 1) and Gavin wrangles Oli into filling in. This fake fiancé plot seems thinner than most as Mindy has never met Oli before and they’re supposed to spend a full week convincing Mindy’s family that he’s the “Harold” she’s been telling them stories about for over a year. Details… pish, we’ll just forget those pesky things and get to the wisecracking relatives. And that’s what really lifts this story into the 3 star range. You sort of have to suspend reality and enjoy it. Or you’ll probably hate it.
I’ll keep going with the series as I think Landish is finding her stride ~ and hey, they’re free on KU.
Let me start off by say that the Mr. Fiancé story was fantastic. I loved it so I rated it 4 stars. The problem is it was only 36% of the book which Is why it was 4 stars instead of 5. The rest of the book was another story about college kids and the rest of the book was a preview of the first book in the Irresistible Bachelor series, Anaconda. If I would have know that what I purchased as not going to be a full book I wouldn’t have gotten it. It might have been stated in the reviews but I didn’t read that from any of them so if I missed that warning then that’s my bad. Mr. Fiancé could have been awesome if it was developed more. With that being said I have read many of Lauren’s books and I will continue to do so. I’ve learned my lesson and I will pay better attention to the reviews. Until next time y’all happy reading.
ARC review for honest review. Mindy needs a fake fiancé before her mother’s wedding and her friend Set her up with Oliver. this is a cute, funny and beautiful story.
Mindy and Oliver are taking the classic fake fiancé HEA to bigger and better places! Mindy is confident, sassy, sexy and cool to the world and couldn’t give two figs what most people think about her or her life – except when it come to her family’s perceptions… That is how she finds herself in her current predicament – tired of her mother always going on about her single status she made up a man and turned him into the greatest fiancé on the planet. Now she needs to present said fiancé at her mother’s wedding… ahh -family, drama, and a wedding – oh my! She asks her bestie Bri if she knows anyone that can play her faux beau for the week and surprisingly she comes through with a friend of Gavin’s – Oliver Steele. Oliver technically owed Gavin for a large poker debt, but since money isn’t really a problem, he cannot use that as an excuse for why he agreed to this cockamamie plan. Ever since he saw Mindy’s picture he has been drawn to the beauty and wants to get closer to her and figures this will be as good of a way as any to do so. He wasn’t expecting such a scrappy miss though. She challenges him with her smart mouth and her undeniable beauty. Soon their attraction is too much to bear and lines of real and fake blur all too easily. The pair quickly realize that in a perfect world they would actually be quite suited and that the feeling they share are quite true. But what started as a lie is going to be very hard to walk back.
Good read
Mr Fiancé by Lauren Landish a blissful five-star read. This is a stand-alone book, but you do see Brianna and Gavin ‘Anaconda’ Adams pop up which I personally loved as I adored Anaconda when I read it, and I has high hopes for this book when I saw it coming, needless to say it didn’t let me down. I loved this story so much, I adored Mindy and her lack of filter when she popped up in Anaconda so was so happy we got to see so much of her when she got her own book.
Mindy Isabella Price has a good life even if it can be hectic running the Bengals Den, but as her bestie owns the place it’s not too much of a challenge, the challenge in her life comes from her family. The challenge from them comes due to the fact Mindy told them that she has had a fiancé called Harold for over a year, and now there is a family wedding and Harold’s presence is needed. Not really a challenge until you find out Mindy may have told a tiny fib to get her mum off her case and Harold may not exist. This leads to much hilarity and Bri and Gavin stepping in to help.
Oliver Steele is tall, cocky and rich, it also helps that he is panty wettingly handsome and he is the one who has agreed to step in to ‘Harold’s’ shoes, for a week to help. Not that he does it for altruistic reasons, but that’s digressing. One week is all they have to pretend to be together, but one week may be to long. Oliver doesn’t like to follow the rules, he lives to push boundaries and enjoys taking things to far, will he push Mindy to breaking point? Or will they make it down the fake aisle for real?
I would marry Oliver in a heart-beat, but Mindy isn’t me, she is a strong willed, woman who makes a mean coffee, and has a good heart, she would do anything for her friends and family, even if it breaks her. This book is so funny you will laugh out loud, but it’s also so sweet it will guarantee your teeth will ache, ache in a good kinda John Wayne way.
An alright read
three books first two were pretty good. The third was less than believable IMO, I did however enjoy them all…romance doesn’t have to be believable it just has to have a happy ending.
