She was created for a purpose so revolutionary, someone was willing to kill for it.
Seventeen-year-old Lexi Matthews keeps two secrets from her elite boarding school classmates — she’s the daughter of a famous and controversial geneticist, and she can influence people’s thoughts.
But after new student Jack DeWeese heals her broken arm with an anything-but-simple touch, he forces Lexi to face … forces Lexi to face a new reality — her abilities reach much further than speaking to the minds of others.
After Lexi’s father goes missing and she receives threatening emails, she can’t decide whether to fall into Jack’s arms or run and hide.
As Lexi seeks answers to what she and Jack are, she discovers a truth more unsettling than anything her science books can teach. And letting Jack into her life of secrets is not only a threat to her very existence, but it just might break her heart wide open.

It started well, but became formulaic.
Just found it boring
Indeed interesting and psychologically thrilling at the same time. This is the first book in the Mindspeak series, and during the first half of the book, I fully intended to read the rest of the series. However, it’s pretty easy to figure out how #2 is going to go, and I have lost interest in reading the rest of books in the series. The …
A lovely tale, but only read if you can afford the other books!
Most of my reading is through KU, so I feel cut off from the rest of the story.
Mindspeak was interesting. Be sure that you are planning to read the series because there is no ending to this first book. Now I need to find the next one to read so it does not feel incomplete.
It was inconsistent. The premise of the story was that she could read minds and influence their thoughts. However, most of the time, she was at the mercy of others and others found it easy to hide information fromher.
I liked the main characters and the concept the story is based upon but the ending was just a cliffhanger to draw you into buying the rest of the series.
I like this book a lot can’t wait to read the other books in the trilogy
This book is rather predictable. The characters are shallow and stereotyped. Exactly ask I would expect for a YA story.
Ok story line but too much dithering over who can I trust… Took away from the story
Started off good with a decent original plot, but it dragged out too long & the main character is incredibly dense & not believable.
Highly recommend this book! Such a great page turner.
I could do without the modern romance angle, but it’s a good read.
Really enjoying this super original and well written story! ! Cannot wait to read the rest of the series! !!
It seemed interesting, but the characters seemed to be socially retarded for the age they represented to the point it distracted me and I finally put it down.
Better then i intisipated
In many series, the story line continues, however, good ones have an ending of the current book so the audience is not left haning. THis did not as it left me without completion.
Could have been really good; basic idea for the plot was great. Characters were fairly well developed. But there was so much teenager angst that I couldn’t finish it.
