It’s a simple enough transaction.Marisol needs the money, and I need a nice girl to parade in front of the cameras. No feelings. No strings. No falling for anyone.I’ve been clean for months, but my record company’s not satisfied. Apparently it isn’t enough to only kick a heroin addiction – they’re insisting that I find a girlfriend as well. If I don’t, they pull Dirtshine’s massive record deal.… don’t, they pull Dirtshine’s massive record deal.
It’s supposed to show that I’ve changed my ways, that I’ve turned over a new leaf, all that rubbish. But I’ve had it with suit-wearing wankers telling me what I’m to do, so I’m on the verge of telling them to go fck themselves.
And then she shows up.
Marisol locks me out of my own concert by accident. She’s wearing a suit at a rock show, searching for her lost law school textbook, has no idea who I am…
…and for the first time in years, I’m hooked.
She’s smart, driven, and utterly gorgeous. The sort of girl who earnestly believes in following the rules and hates when others don’t.
I’m a huge rock star, recovering addict, and general fckup.
Our relationship is for show, and that’s all. But with every smile, every laugh, and every breathtaking glance at her curves, I want her more.
Two months is all we agreed to. But it’s never going to be enough.
Never Enough is a full-length, 90,000-word standalone novel with no cheating, lots of steam, and a happily-ever-after ending.

New author for me to love!
First Roxie Noir book and I am already a fan! One kind of story I enjoy above all others is a good rockstar romance, remembered seeing this series a while back and was really excited to find it was available to click over to my KU library.
Gavin, our H here, was recently released from rehab after years of royally screwing up, but this time, someone he partied with ended up overdosing and his band, Dirtshine (love that name!), was left hanging without a drummer and a lead singer, him.
Now, he’s back in the limelight and their label wants Gavin to sign onto a fake, ‘appropriate’ girlfriend to show how serious he is about recovery. The chosen girl is not someone he can get on board with..at all, so a bigtime NO! I know you’re thinking, another fake girlfriend story but I kind of love these and this was a good one…hello..funny, sweet and slightly broken, British rockstar!
Marisol is a hardworking, dedicated law student, close to graduation and makes a very awkward impression on said rocker at his concert she winds up attending with her best friend. This friend happens to married to the lawyer who’s firm she wants into AND is also Gavin’s legal council.
One of the best parts of this story for me was the easy banter between the 2 MC’s. Gavin’s sense of humor and British slang cracked me up constantly and Marisol’s commitment to her goals never wavered even as she fell deeper under Gavin’s sexy spell.
Loved their story- it was sweet, steamy, exciting and low on angst which was just what I was looking for after the last book I read had me in tears. Perfect entertainment for a relaxing, rainy evening. I’m happy to see there are a few more books in the Dirtshine series to get into ‘cos I love a series I can binge through without waiting..Yay!
“Where the magic happens.”
I confess it was a serious case of #CoverLust that drew me to read the synopsis. And then it was my #RockstarRomanceAddiction that convinced me to give a new author a try. I’m soooo glad that I did. I loved Never Enough and I’m so glad that the next two books are already released and I don’t have to wait to read them. I’ll soon be suffering from #BingeReading and a #BookHangover, but who needs sleep, right?
Gavin is the voice of Dirtshine and he writes their songs. When he spirals to rock bottom with his drug use and unreliable behavior, he takes his bandmates down with him. They all know that if he doesn’t get his act together they will all lose the best thing to happen to them. They are very successful and have a big future ahead of them if only Gavin can get his shit together and stay clean. Their record label insists on rehab after his latest media blasted bad decision and he agrees. When he gets out of rehab it’s only to learn that wasn’t enough for them, they feel that to earn back the support of his fans he needs to show that he’s on the right path and committed to staying there.
What better way to prove he’s on the right path than to show them he has a good role model, right? And rather than waste his time when he has no interest in a real relationship, why not let it be a ‘fake girlfriend’ that he can parade around for the paparazzi? That way he only has to commit to a few hours a few nights a week. Sounds like a good plan, huh? Well, at least it did until he saw who the record label picked out for him. Then it became the worst idea ever.
When a gorgeous girl with a sassy mouth joined him outside the concert venue before his performance he knew she wasn’t a groupie. The fact that she was wearing a business suit and carrying a briefcase was his first clue. And it soon became apparent that she had no idea who he was. He found her arguments amusing and his attraction to her a surprise as she was nothing like the women he usually gravitated to. And when she accidentally locked them both outside, preventing him from getting to the stage for his own performance, she made a lasting impression.
After the concert, he had a brilliant idea. Why couldn’t she be his fake girlfriend? She would be interesting company and not hard to look at. What would it take to convince her to agree?
I enjoyed the hell out of this story. It checked all my boxes.
Sexy rock star.
Broken bad boy.
Music industry details.
Behind the scenes and backstage drama.
Badass woman who makes him work for it.
Support characters that I want to spend more time with.
Rocking on stage and between the sheets.
Witty banter that kept me smiling.
I’d love to tell you more, but I’ve got a date with some more rockers and I don’t want to keep them waiting. And can I just say, the #CoverLust continues. The line forms here…
My first book by Roxie Noir. Wow! Knocked out of the park homerun! I loved this Rockstar-Law Student Romance right from the first chapter!
Gavin, the lead singer, guitar player of Dirtshine, fresh out of rehab, trying to get his life and band back on track after plummeting to the depths with drug addiction.
Marisol, last year law student, deeply in debt with student loans, trying to help her parents find a new home as they are being evicted from their rent control apartment.
A chance meeting between these two that ends up bringing them together in a mutually agreeable deal that solves both their problems. Marisol will pretend to be Gavin’s girlfriend to make him look stable and dependable and she will be compensated to more than cover her financial woes. Sounds perfect, right?
But Marisol is not prepared for the paparazzi and neither are prepared for the feelings that emerge. From friendship to more. Fake girlfriend soon is fake no more. However, both Gavin and Marisol are keeping secrets from one another. What happens when these secrets blow up in their faces?
I love love loved this book! I loved Gavin! I loved Marisol! They were just so real and getting both their POVs you got to see into each of their minds. This is for sure a book I will re-read over and over again and I am so glad I have just found a wonderful new author to follow!
Marisol and Gavin blend rockstar fantasies and a ‘fake’ relationship into a off the charts sexy and steamy HEA! Marisol is just what you would expect of a hard working law student – studious, honest, kind, and forthright. These qualities are just the perfect recipe for her to play the role of America’s Sweetheart to Gavin Lockwood’s drug soaked bad-boy rocker image. Marisol has never wanted her fifteen minutes of fame and frankly isn’t really cut from the “ACTING” cloth, but the money they are offering could help her family in ways they could only ever dream about. Gavin knows that his junkie days are behind him, but the label has decided that they want some big PR stunt to win back some public goodwill. After they throw brain dead poppet at him he is pretty sure their plan is a non-starter until he happens upon Marisol Gomez. She is actually someone he could stand to be around and for the first time in a long time he is intrigued by a woman. Marisol is clever, beautiful, and so not rock and roll – and frankly that makes her all the more alluring. She makes Gavin feel alive again and it’s easy to blur the lines of fake and real. But when a ghost from Gavin’s past returns and threatens not only his recovery but also his future with Marisol will love be enough to pull him out.
I enjoyed this book far more than I thought that I would. I was intrigued by the basic love story, which is what got me to read the book. But the fact that the main character was a recovering drug addict was not too much of a draw for me. And this book ends up having a LOT to do with drugs and addiction and the consequences of such. Very raw and gritty in places.
Despite his history as a rather typical rock star, drug addict and all-around total sleaze, Gavin is actually quite a likable character. He’s a nice guy who tries to do right by his bandmates and others, certainly by Marisol once she enters the picture. The way in which she first meets Gavin is definitely unique, actually believable, not to mention memorable; quite the meet-cute, in a weird sort of way.
Marisol is a lovely counter to Gavin’s crazy past lifestyle, and a wonderful compliment to his life. That these two opposites attract is not at all surprising, but that they fulfill so much of each other’s needs is just darling. As things progress and their relationship grows, it is so pleasant to watch.
The reemergence of Liam later in the story, and that fact that Gavin lets him manipulate him to the extent that he does, really ticks me off. Even though I recognize that everything associated with that incident is pretty much par for the course for recovering alcoholics, I still hate that it happened and how. I was certainly glad that Gavin was at least able to regain his footing and ask for the help that he needed. And I was especially happy that he and Marisol were able to work things out between them. They are a darling fictional couple who really deserve to be together and have the chance to make each other happy.
WOW!!! Being a front singer for a rock band is not but mixing that with a British accent, tats and muscles…..that is just panty melting hot!!! Loved Gavin and Marisol. Cannot wait to read the next book!!
Another hit for Roxie! This is the story of Gavin (an alpha cocky rock star) and Marisol (a law student). This is the perfect blend of wrong place right time. Gavin is a different type of rock star, he has previously cleaned up is image and gotten healthy from drug/alcohol use. He is looking forward to the future when his PR decides that he needs to be in a health lasting relationship to truly capitalize on his new image. Gavin is not as hot on the idea as he feels that getting healthy and clean should be enough. In comes Marisol. She is looking for a lost item and runs directly into Gavin and from that moment on he is smitten with her feisty ways. Gavin will do anything to get her to be his “fake” love and he pays her a large amount of money to do so. The story progresses from here and the attraction is out of this world. If there is one thing that this author knows how to do it is to write a story so amazing that the reader is sucked into it and only comes up when it is concluded. The characters were amazingly written and the story line was both believable and interesting. There was romance a bit of action and the desire for the story not to end. There were some moments that dealt with the dark side of being famous but the characters were great in their ability to talk and deal with these issues. This is a great fun story and it is highly recommended.
It’s always excited to discover a ‘new’ writer (or at least ‘new’ to me). Sometimes they disappoint you and sometimes they surprise you. Well, I can say that Roxie Noir and her book ‘Never enough’ were a pleasant surprise to me.
I must confess that I discovered the second book ‘Always you’ first but being the person that I am I wanted to read the series in chronological order so I started with ‘Never enough’.
I love reading stories about rock bands and when I read in the blurb that it’s also a story about someone who’s an recovering addict with a bad reputation, well, that got me really curious. After reading so many books I thought I knew what to expect but the writer Roxie Noir managed to surprise me with the story. Because to me, Gavin (lead singer of the band) didn’t really felt like a bad boy! Yes, his past is filled with drugs, alcohol and women but still in his heart he is a good guy.
I would even go so far as to say that I find this a ‘sweet’ story! I really loved the ‘friendship’ between Marisol and Gavin. How they acted with each other, how they were trying to do their best although life isn’t always easy. One of the things that I really, really loved was the fact that the story was told from both POV’s. I really loved that.
I’m so happy that I discovered this writer and I will definitely read more books of her!
I was given a free copy and this is a voluntary review,I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between Gavin and Marisol ws off the charts, Has plenty of twists and turns.Maybe Roxie could make it in to a series and write about the rest of the band members. Grab a copy and see what happens for yourself because its a must read.
This was a fantastic read. I really enjoy Ms. Noir’s writing style. The characters are well developed and relatable. I loved both Gavin and Marisol. The way that their relationship developed and the real life struggles they brought into the relationship – made it relatable and an enjoyable read. This book was hot and sexy, emotional, deep and so good. I would have loved a 1 year epilogue – but was happy with the ending. Don’t miss this one!
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
3.75 stars
It’s much better than 3 but not quite 4 stars.
This is the story between a famous rock star who is an ex heroine addict and a law student. The record company decides that after Gavin got clean he needs a “serious” girl to post to the media to show that he changed his ways. Gavin having met Marisol once he wants her to be that girl. Their romance is fake at the beginning but then feelings start to appear. And when they confess to each other that none is pretending the world around them goes to shit till the end of the book (I’m not giving any spoilers 🙂 )
I liked the book but I didn’t love it like I loved Loaded [book:Loaded: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romance|35957474] My only problem is that I couldn’t picture the characters. I know it sounds stupid but let me explain. When I read a book, according to the author’s description I creat an image of the character in my mind and it makes the book more real. In this book the physical characteristics are vague. So I couldn’t connect with them. I couldn’t see them in my head.
Other than that, the book was very enjoyable. The sex scenes were allright (again, not as good as Loaded) and the flow was good. .
Note: my husband is English and I did feel like Gavin was as well. So cudos to you Roxie Noir for hitting that nail on the head.
Note 2: I’m not crazy with the Epilogues. Neither the one in the book nor the Bonus one you get from bookfunnel after you subscripe to the author’s list. When I read Romance I want the ending to be a glimpse of how the couple is doing yyeeeaaars from now, married and maybe with kids.
Struggling law student Marisol Gomez agrees to be rockstar Gavin Lockwood’s fake girlfriend. $1 million for 2 months of Marisol’s time, and then they part ways. Easy peasy, right? Except that Mirosol never expected to develop a crush on the incredibly handsome, famous, rich, notorious rockstar …
Funny, drama-filed and steamy!
This story was just ok for me. It was definitely intriguing but I didn’t connect with either character. That being said, it was at least a happy ending.
