Excellent! I love Nicola’s portrayal of strong women who aren’t afraid of their desires, and the men who not only revel in it, but complement their fiery passion.
Witty, emotional and SO satisfying!
Having read the first two volumes in Ms. Davidson’s ‘Fallen’ series (which I loved) I devoured the last, hardly daring hope it would evoke the same level of emotional connection and sexiness.
I’m delighted to say that it TOTALLY delivered.
Exhibitionism. Ms. Davidson did a great job in conveying the thrill of wanting to be watched while indulging in ‘naughty-times’. Hoorah! It’s a kink rarely explored in historical romance fiction… but I can only say – more please.
A hero and heroine who are meant to be. The backstory played a strong role in the unraveling of the tale, and did a great job of enhancing (rather than slowly down the pace). I believed in their love.
Great banter between the hero and heroine. I smiled at the combination of humour and hotness.
All three volumes in this series are excellent.
Ms. Davidson demonstrates that the limited word-count of a novella is no hindrance to creating a satisfying story arc.
I look forward to working my way through her backlist.
Love her witty, stylish narrative and her handling of sensual desire.
Ms. Davidson knows how to keep us reading.
Book three in the Fallen series. Novella length can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. Fallen is a pleasure club in London. Secondary characters are the same throughout the series, but each book is about a different club co-owner finding their HEA. Iain and Mairi grew up neighbors in Scotland. They were young lovers once but then she disappeared and broke his heart. A chance meeting 10 years later and their feelings are just as strong. Great steamy second chance historical romance! I read the series in order and loved each one, and would love more from this series!
Lord Iain ‘Vice’ Vissen is a proud Scot and Fallen co-owner, he’s also dedicated to performing in and producing the pleasure club’s hedonistic shows & has an eye for every little detail. One night the apple tarts aren’t where they should be & he apprehends a rogue footman only to discover the spy is Lady Mairi MacNair, the woman who ten years ago broke his heart.
Born an earl’s daughter but now a seamstress, Mairi has returned to London to help open Worldly, a superior pleasure club to Fallen, and finally realize her dream of being the seductive leading lady. Then she discovers her main rival is Iain, the man she loved beyond reason and was forced to abandon, she is soon caught in a web of lies, secrets, and raw, scorching passion that time hasn’t dimmed.
A quick very well paced book, which I read in one sitting. My only quibble is that I’d have liked for it to be longer. The characters are well portrayed & have depth that many 100-page novels don’t achieve. This is the third in the series but could be a standalone book, but if like me you love series then I’d recommend reading the series in order, you won’t be disappointed. Vice & Mairi’s attraction is SO hot & both thought time had diminished it but they were so wrong. A very good story of second chances.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
