This is the first book by Lynsey James that I have read and I was so impressed. I really loved this story. It was a very emotional read. The type of story that will touch your soul. Ms. James took her time telling the story and developing the characters. An amazing story. A lovely tale of second chances and new beginnings.
The characters in this book are amazing and really make this book come alive. Each character has strength in spades. Cleo really does have some issues she struggles with. She is very determined to overcome it all to become the best mummy she can be. Scott is a very sweet guy. He loves Cleo desperately and he is afraid to show that side to Cleo, afraid it will scare her away. He is also a very caring and determined man. Cleo and Scott really work hard to overcome all the obstacles that are tossed at them. Let me tell you they are some doozies.
This book will draw you in and captivate you. A wonderful cozy Christmas read. Perfect for sitting by the fire curled up in the blanket with a hot chocolate. It will make you laugh, cry, smile and fall in love. I can definitely see this becoming a movie. Maybe another Love Actually. I love a good Christmas Romance!

Life isn’t going quite how Cleo planned in A Winter’s Wish Come True by Lynsey James. An unexpected surprise and many decisions need to be made in order to find direction in her life.
Cleo Jones has been single for a year. And after all this time, she is still devastated from the break up with her boyfriend. She questions her decision to not go with him, and his decision to leave her behind, but she is living her life to the fullest. Her bucket list is slimming down, and she is looking to possibly add more. She has been a year free from her eating disorder, and the possibility of life is just really bright right now.
Scott Robinson has been away from Cleo for a year. He has thought about her every day that he has been gone. He regrets his decision to leave, and now that he is back, he is determined to fight for the love that he has lost.
Both Cleo and Scott did not handle their reunion in the best way possible. Cleo is afraid that if she and Scott were to get back together, that he would leave again. Scott is fighting for a chance to make her see that things could be beautiful together, but they are both scared. And now, there is a baby on the way. How can they live and love and raise their baby together?
Cleo and Scott are wonderful characters. I feel as if their situation is one that many people find themselves in. They had different ideas of what life and instead of compromising and staying together, they made choices that maybe weren’t the right ones. But love always finds a way, I truly believe that. And these two prove that.
I really liked this book. Scott and Cleo’s characters were well written. The supporting characters were great. Their mothers were hilarious. It is a great holiday read. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in a story of lost love, and the ability to gain it again. Five stars.
