Librarian and aspiring journalist Juliana Masters has a mystery to solve: Who am I? Armed with the truth about her past, she can leave her humdrum present behind and get on with her future. She just needs to complete one lucrative investigative writing assignment and she’ll be on her way. All she has to do is prove aliens live and work out of a secret facility based under the Big Bang Truck Stop. … Stop. No problem. Getting her socks knocked off by the Fearless Leader isn’t part of the plan.
Diesel Grey worked for years to achieve his goal of heading up the family business in Alienn, Arkansas. Mission accomplished, but being Fearless Leader of a galactic way station comes with a lot more headaches than anticipated. It’s hard to consider the shockingly well-informed writer a headache, though, especially when she makes him ache in all the right places.
If he’s not careful, he’ll give her everything she needs to blow his family’s cover and expose to the human world that aliens do walk among them.
All he really wants to do is sweep her up in his arms and never let her go.
If only his trigger-happy brother would stop erasing her memories …

I loved this story and characters! They are both entertaining, fun and quirky. YOU’VE GOT ALIENS (Alienn, Arkansas Book 1) by Fiona Roarke is a laugh out loud short romance read that I highly recommend. I just finished the first book in this new humorous alien vs. human romance series and I want the next one NOW!
Juliana Masters needs money and accepts a writing assignment from her old college professor. She is to go to nearby Alienn, Arkansas for travel publication, Finders, and find out if the alien sightings at the Big Bang Truck Stop are real.
The Fearless Leader of the Big Bang Truck Stop is Diesel Grey. The oldest of seven children, inherited the leadership of the Truck Stop last year from his father and takes his job very seriously. The Big Bang Truck Stop is located in a small town with fun alien ads everywhere on the surface, but a galactic refueling station and rest stop underneath. When Juliana shows up for an interview, he can’t believe how attracted he is to this human, but he has to be careful or all of their covers will be blown and humans will know that aliens have always been here among them.
Besides the cute premise for this story, you just have to love all the clever names, Big Bang Truck Stop, Alienn, Arkansas, Diesel, Axel, Cam, Wheeler, Gage, Jack and Valene. The romance was fun as both Diesel tried to hide his true heritage and Juliana wanted the truth for her article so that she could use the funds to discover her past. The romance was very sweet and the sex was behind closed doors.
The secondary characters were all as entertaining as the H/h. An elderly aunt who wants to raise funds for her retirement home with a wet t-shirt contest. A brother who is head of security and keeps mind zapping Juliana into forgetting what she has learned.
This is a fun story that you just have to read. You will be wanting the next in the series as much as I do. Please write quickly Ms. Roarke!
4 stars – It was really good
Journalist Juliana Masters is tasked with finding out the mystery of Alienn, Arkansas. Are there really aliens who live there or is it all just a promotional stunt to bring in tourists. What she doesn’t expect is to fall instantly for the Fearless Leader of the Big Bang Truck Stop, Diesel Grey.
This was a fun alien romance. Alienn reminded me a lot of Nocturne Falls (Kristen Painter) with it using alien attractions to hide the real aliens, but in NF they it’s Halloween themed to hide all kinds of paranormals. Diesel and Juliana have an instant attraction and they hit it off pretty quickly, but I still really enjoyed their story. Juliana is a very sweet woman and Diesel was a kind, yet stern, leader. Their relationship was just sweet with just a tiny hint of danger.
I really enjoyed learning about the town of Alienn. Now I just want to learn more about Alpha-Prime and the other types of aliens that frequent the truck stop.
What if aliens were running the truck stop just down the road?
That unlikely premise is indeed the start of this wonderful new series. I found the book to be well written and easy to read while packed with a lot of great humor and romantic elements as well. All with a great science fiction (light SF, not heavy duty stuff) background. The cast of characters was diverse, very interesting and lots of fun. Overall, it made for a highly enjoyable and rather addictive read.
Highly recommended.

She has a mystery to solve and it will make you. She just has to prove aliens live and work from the secret base. There is just one thing she did not expect, falling for the base leader. Will she prove they are there? Will her feelings stop her doing so? See if she will

I have read this author’s Bad Boys in Big Trouble series and absolutely loved those stories. To be honest I was not sure about this one with aliens. I love it when I am pleasanrly surprised. This was a really funny and entertaining read. Juliana is an aspiring journalist and she has a piece to write to prove that aliens exist and work out of a secret facility. Of course, she meets Diesel who has taken over the family business which includes trying to convince Juliana that there are no aliens. Of course this is complicated with his brother always wiping out Juliana’s memories. This was a humorous read and a great introduction to an interesting alien series.

This book is a sweet, tongue-in-cheek romance. It is sometimes silly/corny but it is a good story. I didn’t like the mystery part as much as the reader is left without any real clues. It is certainly worth a few hours to escape from your worries.

Well that was a surprise ending! This is the first book in the Alienn, Arkansas series and I know I want to read more. I found myself laughing at some of the things that happen in the story. I recommend this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Diesel is a handsome alien who falls madly in love with Juliana, a human. Every time something good happens Diesel’s brother, Cam, zaps her with the Defender and erases up to 30 minutes of her memory…or does he? Something is up since Juliana seems to remember things like a dream. And her neighbor, Miss Penny is strange too.
This was a fun and quirky book. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more.

Diesel Gray has problems running his truck stop, and not just because of his zany aunt’s crazy ideas for marketing. The truck stop is actually a way station between Earth and his home planet. The Big Bang Truck Stop is in Alienn, Arkansas. The town has made itself into a tourist attraction revolving around aliens, given the name of the town, but it actually does hide aliens in plain sight. Just as Diesel’s trying to figure out his problems, another one turns up in the form of journalist Juliana. She wants to break one big last story before moving on: she believes there’s some sort of alien world or culture beneath the truck stop. When Diesel and Juliana meet, romantic sparks fly. If only Diesel’s brother didn’t wipe her memory, she might have remembered their first kiss!
The author did a good job of setting up the alien culture. We understand its social structure and history. While there is a little bit of an information dump at the beginning, much of it was woven in throughout the tale itself.
As the cover and the book blurb suggest, this is a humorous take on the idea of aliens living among us. There’s a bit of a nod to the Men In Black movie series. I loved the campy humor, funny alien names, and the delightful little romance. If you like books that don’t take the science-fiction genre too seriously but still have fun with it, you might enjoy this alien-inspired Romance.
’Spoilerish*
I was expecting to love this book because the description made it sound quite charming, and actually it was in the beginning, but the events that happened regarding Adele felt awfully forced and more like page fillers than anything else.

I really wanted to like this book. The premise of aliens hiding in plain site could have been delightful and witty. Unfortunately, this book wasn’t that.
It was difficult to get into the book and the ending was completely predictable—yes, even the plot twist of our dear heroine’s origin. The first five chapters were a slog of inner monologue exposition. It could definitely do with less tell and more show. But what ultimately killed the book for me was the sloppy handling of the “villain” of the piece and a plot contrivance that was badly implemented.
In the first meeting of the book’s protagonists, Diesel is using and abusing his telepathic ability to manipulate Juliana in an attempt to steer her away from her questions about aliens. That’s literally the only time his ability is used in the entire book, even when it would have been more usefully later in the book. It’s like the author forgot she gave him this ability. I wish she hadn’t introduced it in the first place. It’s become a cliche when the male character can read the woman’s mind and uses that knowledge to woo her.
The villain of the piece is more of a minor annoyance that escalates dramatically out of nowhere. It’s bad form to introduce a villain three quarters of the way through the book. To be fair to the audience, the author should have introduced us to the person at least in a minor way earlier in the book.
Ultimately, I didn’t care about the main characters. One extra star for Aunt Dixie and Miss Penny. They were a hoot but do not make a whole book.

While reading the first chapter or so, I started thinking I might delete this one, it just didn’t hold my interest and did not seem very interesting. Thankfully I continued to read, almost immediately things starting to pick up. I have never read any of the Nocturne Falls books and from what was mentioned in this book, it sounds like this might be where it all began. Alienne, Arkansas has a secret, imagine that. Cell phones don’t work and rumors fly of aliens living among humans in secrecy. Supposedly the Big Bank Truck Stop in the operation of all alien related activities according to the rumors. Now the question is, are there really aliens or just humans cashing in on the alien theme? That is orphan Julianna Masters job to find out. She is hired by a former professor to find out if the rumors are true, and if she can find any proof, he has promised her tons of money, which she needs to fund a trip to find out where she comes from. Her first stop is the Big Bank where she meets “Our Fearless Leader” Diesel, almost immediately there is a spark between the two. Julianna has alot of interesting things happen to her during her investigation, but you will have to read to find out what happens. Its a very good story, once it got started, it was alot of fun to read. There was implied sex, but no details, no cursing that I can remember and lots of laughs. I received a ARC from booksprout and am leaving and honest review because I want to.
At the Big Bang Truck Stop in Alienn Arkansas, Diesel Grey was trying to convince his stubborn Aunt Dixie that a wet T-shirt contest fundraiser at the old folks’ home to promote the Big Bang Truck Stop was a very bad idea on so many levels and he could not allow it. That was not an image he saw as positive for their town nor the truck stop whose logo she intended to be on the T-shirts. Three other elderly ladies started booing and hissing him from the doorway of his office for vetoing their plan.
His brother, Axel, was the next one in the door with a message. Their home planet, Alpha-Prime, had awarded them the contract to be a galactic way station for prisoners on their way to “the big house”. Axel appreciated the income it would provide, but Diesel had doubts about breaking the news to the council. The elder council of retired aliens who lived there were stuck in the old ways and wanted everything to stay the same. They also insisted the Earthlings not be told they lived among aliens. Diesel just wanted progressive changes, but the elders protested if there was a change in the gelatin flavor at the Café! He was not eager to tell them about the new contract. Signing the contract gave them 10 years of security where their planet would not shut them down on a whim, so he signed and dreaded telling the council later.
Diesel’s assistant came running in with panic in her eyes to tell him there was a human who wanted to talk to him! Her name is Juliana Masters, but what disturbed his assistant was that she could be big trouble for them. Nova had read the woman’s mind and she was there with questions about the rumors that aliens lived here!
Juliana was writing an article for a popular travel magazine intending to prove or debunk an alien rumor, which they hoped to turn into a book contract. It amused her that their nametags all said “Welcome, Earthling!” And the manager’s office had a sign that said “Fearless Leader”. Even the water tower was painted as a flying saucer with a picture of a Martian hanging on for his life – with a goofy grin, of course. The receptionist stared at her so long that she thought she was being mind-probed! It was also peculiar that her cell phone had no service in a 10-mile radius of town! Very odd.
To her surprise, a tall, handsome man came out to greet her. As they shook hands, she felt an electric spark. He evidently noticed as well since his eyes darted to their hands. He told her that when the town was formed by a woman named Alienne, the paperwork misnamed the town as “Alienn” when the ‘e’ got dropped. So the story of the town name is as simple as that, he told her. There are no aliens, the name was just a typo or mistake from its inception and the Maxwell the Martian theme is a convenient marketing tool for selling fuel, snacks and sundries. Nothing more nefarious than that. He was hoping not to deal with a publicity attack or the appearance of paparazzi. But when she asked him about the Boogieman Affair, which no outsiders were supposed to have known about, he was startled but told her only that it was a gas leak. He tried reading her mind to see what she knew, but all she was thinking was “kiss me, kiss me, kiss me”. So he did – until Axel interrupted them and urged Diesel into the office to talk to him. She was seriously feeling that this might actually be love she was feeling! His kiss was amazing!
As Diesel led her outside, the worst thing happened. The doors to their basement area hiding all things alien was left wide open. And an alien visitor like a man on the bottom and a sea creature on top, complete with eight tentacles floating around his body, stared at them. Was their secret now exposed? How would Diesel explain this? He wouldn’t want to wipe the memories of the woman he wanted to start dating!
This was a fun-filled, wonderful book!!! Those who read the Nocturne Falls series will feel right at home with this one. The characters are real individuals and totally likable. The story line is perfect and the reader can see how this will be a series to follow eagerly! You will definitely need to grab your copy and find out how Diesel will explain this away! And you’ll find many more things coming that you won’t want to miss! Prepare yourself for laughter, love, and fun!
