Someone will do anything to stop them from learning the truth.New Series from the Bestselling Author of the Unbounded Series. Eighty years after Breakdown, Detective Reese Parker has pulled herself up from the dregs of society in Welfare Colony 6 to become a sketch artist and enforcer for the CORE (Commonwealth Objective for Reform and Efficiency). She works hard with other enforcers to maintain … Efficiency). She works hard with other enforcers to maintain peace and order among the CORE’s 2 million residents, especially against the radiation-crazed outsiders called fringers.
But Reese hides a secret she can never share with anyone, a secret that killed her father and ruined the life of the person she once loved more than anyone.
When a new assignment sends Reese to Amarillo City, near where she grew up, she’s partnered with Jaxon Tennant on the Violent Crimes Investigation Unit, and she knows her secret won’t stay secret long. Somehow their past is connected to missing scientists and programmers, but all leads go nowhere: evidence disappears, witnesses change testimony, and names vanish from the CORE database.
Someone is willing to do anything to stop Reese and her former Colony 6 crew from discovering the truth behind what is has been done to them—and thousands of others. To learn what they have become, Reese and her friends must go against the very foundations of the society they serve. There is no going back.
Sketches (Colony Six, Book 1) is the first of a series following the six members of the Colony 6 crew.

loved this book. Very original with the world building. Action packed , mystery.
Great start to the series.
The “Colony Six” Universe is a must-read! Totally original! 🙂
Unusual character abilities
I loved reading this riveting story about the future after a truly global war. Great characters as well as storyline.
This series leaves you wanting more. you don’t really know who the bad guys and good guys (and girls) are. Some have special powers that are difficult to control. They all live in a world that is part 1984-ish and part pure 20th century angst.
So refreshing to read an original and captivating book. Great characters. Good plot twists. Intriguing story-line. LOVED it! Can’t wait to read Visions, the next book in the series.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, so I have been pleasantly surprised by this story. This is the first in a series of books by the author and I am looking forward to learning more about what the protagonists find out with regard to the plot line. I don’t want to give anything away so I encourage SciFi / Dystopian / Post Apocalypse fans to read this book. So far I think that the story is pretty original. I am hoping that it stays that way. I have already purchased a couple of the next books, so I won’t have to wait. For those like me, that want a little substance in the books they purchase and read, this book has over 300 pages. I appreciate it when writers at least make their books long enough that I don’t feel like they sold me a short story.
Good job! I’m excited to move to the next one.
An intelligent combination of police procedural, conspiracy, and supernormal humans set in a post-nuclear society. This is a definite series but no cliffhanger.
A futuristic mystery with a twist of the supernatural. I found this to be very well written and entertaining. The post-apocalyptic United States was described in a way that seemed believable. Plan to purchase the second book when life slows down enough to read it.
I’m going to get the rest of the series to follow what happens to the crew.
Really enjoyed this one and am going to finish the series!
I didn’t want to put the book down. Ready to read the rest
There are likable characters here. The author spends a lot of time putting them and their world together, and the final conflict takes time to come together. Long before it does, you can predict the broad strokes of what it will be. There are some interesting plot twists. But I like more exposition of characters in their dialog and less description. I also prefer a bit more action throughout a book.
Very interesting, action packed & intriguing. Characters are great & you wonder what will happen next. I’m going to read book 2.
Not your everyday read. Enjoyed the originality and look forward to the rest of the series.
good story & characters. entertaining
Slow and not particularly gripping. Narrator changes inexplicably chapter by chapter.
