Irish eyes are smiling….
Now I know some people might not understand why some of us tended to make a big deal of razzing a particular friend.
Well the truth is some of us have peculiar sense of humors but quite frankly his responses say it all.
Yes I believe in lovey-dovey kind of moments and it truly shows with each new dress I create for someone’s special day.
But my life is way to complicated so it’s safe to say I’m not hunting for Mr.Right.
The last thing I’d expected was for the girl I was totally interested in to shot me down; before I even got a chance.
Now the advice me dear tough buds were dishing out; but Con’s really had me changing my mind.
You could have knocked me over with a feather; to be offered a chance in the ring wasn’t something I’d ever considered.
But now I’m up for the challenge; even if my mom might have some serious doubts; yet I know she’ll be my biggest supporter.
Kieran wasn’t about to let one of his friends suffer from the what ifs anxiety because life was to short to play that game; instead he should concentrate more on be happy for what had and more importantly who was in his life and to let the rest go.
So she wants to be friends; I can do that for the moment; because I know sooner or later she’ll realize the truth.
Yet I knew Kieran deserved so much more then the simple generic reasons as to why I preferred not to date anyone.
Needless to say I wasn’t about to accept the agony of defeat; nope not by a long shot.
And for once in his life Tommy was able to actually offer up some really good ideas.
So now all I needed to do is put on the biggest spectacular display ever and shake the gifts I was naturally granted.
Boy oh boy did I get her attention and I’m willing to prove I’m not playing any games that I’m all in.
I’m still trying to figure out how to express my true feelings loud enough for this other guy to understand; because quite frankly he’s not listening to me.
Rules were rules and even though he didn’t break the number one cardinal rule he just didn’t think anyone would believe him; especially not with his history.
I was totally out of my element when it came to meeting my girl’s family, which included her three brothers; but some how I survived.
Even though I feel like I was run over by a steam roller instead of a German boxer I would change a darn thing.
Because now that I’m finally done with all the rules I’ve endured during my training;
my girl is the best dessert I’ve been watching and waiting for.
Now I was super excited my girl was finally moving in with me even as we were still looking for the perfect love nest; I seriously couldn’t wait because I wanted everything to be just right.
So not wanting to stop I asked one of my best bud’s to do me a big favor; however the minute my mom called my world stopped leaving me barely able to think let alone breathe.
Marie knew some people; okay mainly her brothers wished she’d made different choices.
But nope she wasn’t sorry for choosing something she’d always wanted but honestly never thought she’d ever have.
I’m one lucky man especially the fact my girl choice me and thank my luck stars everyday she did however now I’m am hoping and praying like I’ve never before.
I have spent the past week at Driscoll’s gym with Danny, Con, Kieran, Tommy and all the lads and I have had the most amazing time with them. I wanted to re-read the series in preparation for The Fire which is due to be released in November, but I hadn’t realised that this was actually my first time reading The Storm even though it has been on my bookshelf for a couple of years, and now I am kicking myself for not reading it sooner.
R.J. Prescott always manages to write a book filled with emotion. Whether she has me laughing with the banter and ribbing that seems to flow naturally when the guys are together, or has the knots in my stomach appearing when things get rather tense, I am already aware that I am fastening myself into a seat which will take me on an emotional roller coaster ride when I open one of her books, and it’s a ride that I’d queue for all day just to experience it again and again and again. I knew that when I had to reach for the tissues before I’d even finished reading the prologue that this story was going to pull at my heart strings too.
I adore Kieran. He’s an amazing person and the best friend that you could ever hope to have. Marie is one of Em’s friends and has been admired by Kier since the moment he stepped into her shop. They both have reasons which make them both consciously avoid relationships, and even though there was this huge attraction to each other, I could totally understand why they didn’t want to act on their feelings. I believe that The Storm can be read as a standalone, however I do feel that my enjoyment of this book was enhanced because I’d already met and got to know all the characters in The Hurricane and The Aftermath. It has been wonderful reading Kier and Marie’s story and learning more about this amazing couple. I admire immensely their strength, determination and personalities, which is why I was rooting for them from the very beginning to find happiness with each other.
I love the friendship between all the characters. The aren’t just friends but are family, and they have each others backs no matter what. If it is at all possible, this series just gets better and better and now I cannot wait for Tommy’s story….. I just know that it’s going to be incredible!
I hope, when writing this review, I can do the book justice like the author did with this story for Kieran. This had all the right feels and it just made your heart grow even fonder, not only for the other boys but for Kieran as well. You just are trying to figure out what will happen next ‘cuz the author keeps you on your toes when reading. I’ve loved this book from beginning until the end.
If you loved The Hurricane, watch out ‘cuz The Storm is coming and he will blow you away…
Kieran hasn’t had it easy when losing his father at a young age. He has blocked himself from relationships with women but when he meets Marie, he’ll finally learn what true love means and that it’s worth fighting for. But Marie hasn’t had it easy herself and when Kieran learns why she doesn’t want to get involved and gets his head around it, they both will finally have what they are craving for, even when they don’t realise it right away. when it’s meant to be love will find a way… No matter what life throws at you…
I have been waiting for this book to be release.. Rebecca, you delivered it… The story was beautiful, classy, so many strong bond friendship between the character.. You write the story in details on how they feel.. the thought of each other… its all complete one story that describe who the Storm is…
Till the next one to come… let the Storm whirl you around with his story..
The Hurricane and The Aftermath were 2 of my favourite books of 2016 that I read and got so excited to have the chance to read The Storm early thank you so much r.j Prescott for the opportunity.
To say I was excited for this book was an understatement I loved Kerian in the first one being Cons best mate and trainer I was super excited to see his his story would be. I was not disappointed this story was everything and more and written so beautifully.
Kerian was your regular guy who was Irish and was a boxing trainer and seemed to like the simple life, losing his father at a young age he made the decision that there was no way he was going to fall in love, he saw to many heart breaks from his fathers death he did not want to experience that, until her. Kerian was not what I expected he was so protective, loving and caring with such a tough exterior I was not expecting his softer side
Marie was a beautiful heroine, and I really liked her she was Kerians perfect match really, but there was no way she wanted a relationship and she would fight Kerian on it as much as she could. These two seemed to be perfect together but they had a lot to go through before they even considered falling in love. With Marie and not wanting a relationship and trying to keep Kerian at arms length was all she needed to do.
This book was absolutely fantastic I loved every minute of reading the book, I loved how the meaning of family is so important to the story and you don’t need to be blood related, I loved the fact that no matter what all the men and women had each other’s back.
If your looking for romance at its best and that has a fantastic story of becoming the best you can be, defying the odds, mixed with drama and intrigue, you need to read this book and if you haven’t read The Hurricane and The Aftermath you need to do this now.
5++++++++++++++++ stars, I wish I could give more

I was given a copy of this book by the New Adult Book Club and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.
‘The storm’ is the third book in ‘The Hurricane’ series but I think that you can read this book without reading the first two books of the series but I really, really loved the story of Con and Em so I would recommend that you read their story too. The Hurricane series is focused around the Driscoll’s Gym. Danny is the owner of this boxing gym and Con, Kieran, Liam and Tommy are the hot Irish boys who train there. Some of the boys who come there dream to become be a professional boxer but most of them just go there for the friendship and the loyalty that they feel there. In ‘The storm’ we get Kieran and Marie’s story. We met them both in the previous two books. Kieran is Con’s best friend and Marie became friends with Em (Con’s wife) when Em bought her wedding dress in Marie’s shop.
Losing his father at a young age, has hurt Kieran deeply. It didn’t only broke his heart but also his mother’s heart. Feeling and seeing the pain of losing a loved one made Kieran decide to avoid it at all cost but that all changes when he meets Marie Kelly. He falls deeply for her and for her he’s prepared to take a chance on love.
Just like Kieran, Marie lost her father at a young age and the last thing that she wants is for other people to feel that kind of hurt too. But the chance is big that people who love her will experience that pain too. Something that Marie is very aware of and that’s also the reason that she maintains her distance of Kieran because the last thing that she wants is for him to feel that pain again.
But Kieran doesn’t know this and he wants Marie. So finally Marie tells him the truth, knowing that that will scare Kieran away. But she underestimated Kieran and his feelings for her.
Because no matter the pain that is waiting for him in the future, Kieran can’t let Marie go. He has felt for her completely and there is no way back. But the fear that Kieran has is whether Marie can accept the man that he really is. Can she accept the fighter in him too?
That’s something that Kieran will discover soon enough because he just accepted the challenge to fight the fight of his life.
Soon Kieran and Marie will have to decide if love is really worth all the pain and worry.
Strange, how sometimes you don’t realize how much you missed something or someone until you meet them again. That was the feeling that I had when I started reading ‘The storm’. Reading it made me realize how much I had missed the Driscoll boy’s!!! I was so happy to see them again.
I don’t know if it’s the Irish charm or the friendship between the guys and their girls or the loyalty or simple the love that you feel between them? But I just love this series. The banter between the guys and the grumpy comments of their ‘trainer’ Danny always make me smile.
Although I must confess that I was a little nervous about reading this book because my hopes for this story were very high (after loving Con and Em’s story so much). But R.J. Prescott didn’t let me down! This story was everything that I had hoped for and more! Kieran was everything that I love in my men, loyal, soft and hard when needed, charming, a little bit of a bad boy. And Marie was such a sweet and lovely girl. She has been through much but she still managed to be happy. Her three brothers made me laugh. They really behaved like nosey, little brothers. I was really happy that in this book we discovered who stole Liam’s heart and that we could follow his love story too.
I’m very looking forward to the next book that will be about Tommy!!!
