A cowboy who wants to be a preacher. An outlaw’s daughter who wants to change his mind.
On his way to interview for a position at a church in the Piney Woods of Texas, Crockett Archer can’t believe it when he’s forced off the train by an outlaw and presented to the man’s daughter as the preacher she requested for her birthday. He’s determined to escape — which would be much easier if he could … he could stop thinking about Joanna Robbins and her unexpected request.
For months, Joanna had prayed for a minister. A man to breathe life back into the abandoned church at the heart of her community. A man to assist her in fulfilling a promise to her dying mother. But just when it seems her prayers have been answered, it turns out the parson is there against his will and has dreams of his own calling him elsewhere. Is there any way she can convince Crockett he ended up right where he was supposed to be?

I was not familiar with author Karen Witemeyer, but this story was delightful. The setting was unique, the title odd, and it’s plot unusual. As the story continued with ongoing subplots, at times funny or dramatic, it became more and more difficult to put down. Highly recommend “Stealing the Preacher.”
Probably my favorite of the series. The action was intense at times (Miss Holly) and there was more than a few tears but it was sooo good. I had no idea that being kidnapped could turn out to be a good thing, but I totally don’t recommend it! 1 more Archer brother to find his happy ever after and I for one am very curious about his …
I enjoyed reading this book. Following the brothers story and new adventures.
Stealing the Preacher was a sweet story of Love , Family, Friendship & Faith.
Archer found his calling as a preacher but proved himself to be more than that to Joanna and her Family.
If you are in need of a inspirational story. This is a good one to read!
This is book two in the Archer Brothers Series and it’s my favorite of the three. Couldn’t put any of them down, but I really liked Crockett’s steadfastness. I bought the e-book devoured it, then bought the print version. Excellent book!
WHAT IT’S ABOUT
On his way to interview for a position at a church in the Piney Woods of Texas, Crockett Archer can scarcely believe it when he’s forced off the train by a retired outlaw and presented to the man’s daughter as the minister she requested for her birthday. Worried this unfortunate detour will ruin his chances of finally serving a …
This is such a sweet story about a shy heroine, Joanna with a heart for her outlaw father to get to know God the way the her mother taught her. Crockett is a preacher on his way to what he thinks is the place God wants him to serve. On his way, he meets Joanna’s father in a hilarious scene. The book takes off from there.
These train robbers get more than they bargain for when they steal a preacher from a train instead of money. Fun, heart-touching, romantic reading!
